DFS NBA Lineups for February 28, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com
On days that there’s a nice slate of DFS NBA games, we’ll give you the game totals, point spreads, and pertinent injury news to follow for NBA daily fantasy, as well as some players that we’re considering for our lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.
We’ve got six games on the DFS NBA slate for 2/28/17 that features just two players with five-figure price tags at DraftKings. We don’t need to tell you how awesome Russell Westbrook is ($12.1k DraftKings, $12k FanDuel). He’s in a ‘bad’ matchup against Utah, but he’s Russell freaking Westbrook. Monitor the buzz today. If people are off of Russ due to this matchup, load up. You rarely get the opportunity to utilize Westy at low ownership, so if people are preaching a fade, then take advantage. Also, he’s gone 27/6/5 and 38/11/10 against the Jazz in two games this year. He’ll be fine. And finally, if you had a bad GPP day yesterday, don’t worry, everyone did. Shake it off and come back stronger today. This is the beauty of DFS.
We have another big day in DFS NBA GPPs. At DraftKings, they’ve got a $300k Four Point Play, a $300k Shootaround, and a $500k Power Dunk. And FanDuel, they’re rolling out a $500k Monster, a $300k Shot, and a $7 buy-in qualifier to their NBA live final.
As always, be sure and monitor any of the injury news that breaks throughout the day, as value plays and player upgrades can arise in a moments notice.

Best NBA Picks for February 28, 2017
Kevin Durant ($9.7k DraftKings, $10.4k FanDuel)
It’s all about #NarrativeStreet for Durant as he comes home to Washington tonight and will play in front of friends and family for the first time this season. The Wizards strength is in their backcourt, but they’re vulnerable on the wing and give up an above average 37.38 FPPG to opposing SFs on the year. If John Wall and Bradley Beal step up to contain the Splash Brothers, it will fall on Durant to carry the Warriors elite offense on the road in what should be a great game to target.
Mike Conley ($7.9k DraftKings, $8k FanDuel)
Like most PGs, Conley seems to love facing the young Suns. After all, Phoenix gives up the second-most PPG (112.8) overall and the second-most PPG (24.44) to opposing PGs this season, while Conley has been a problem in particular for that weak defense. He’s averaging 30.5 PPG while shooting a scorching 67.9% from the floor over 2 meetings with the Suns this year and dropped a career-high 38 with 7 threes the last time he faced them. It’s dangerous to get caught up in point-chasing based on earlier results, but the matchup is prime and Conley is playing better and better as he works his way back from a serious injury.
Dwyane Wade ($7.5k DraftKings, $8k FanDuel)
The old veteran clearly benefitted from extended rest during the ASB, as he came up with 23 points and a full line against Phoenix and roasted the shorthanded Cavs for 20 points and 10 assists in an encore effort. Now he’ll face the worst rated defensive team in the NBA and the Nuggets are giving up the second-most FPPG (40.53) to opposing SGs this season. Jimmy Butler was a huge problem for Denver in a previous meeting and the Nuggets might shade their defense towards him, leaving D-Wade free to operate against lesser defenders.
Mid Tier DFS NBA Plays
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5.9k DraftKings, $5.4k FanDuel)
The Pistons always ride their starters hard and KCP could feasibly play around 40 minutes tonight because of the opponent. Portland obviously relies on the backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, while Caldwell-Pope is the best option to contain one of those guards with his defensive ability. He’s taking off on offense with 51 points on 39 FGA over 2 games since the ASB and it’s not a coincidence that Reggie Jackson has fallen out of favor with the coaching staff recently. Tonight KCP will face a Blazers team that is giving up the third-most FPPG (43.74) and second-most PPG (25.89) to opposing SGs over the last month and he’s a bit under priced on both main DFS sites.
T.J. Warren ($5.5k DraftKings, $5.3k FanDuel)
Consistency was missing from Warren’s game with P.J. Tucker in the Suns rotation, but the veteran is no longer around and the second-year man out of NC State is thriving as a result. Warren has produced 40 points, 13 rebounds and is shooting 19-of-28 (68%) from the floor over 2 games since the ASB as Phoenix makes a full commitment to the younger players on its roster. While he draws a tough matchup tonight against the Grizzlies, Memphis is most vulnerable on the wing and Warren is versatile enough to score in a variety of ways.
Value DFS NBA Plays
Alan Williams ($4.1k DraftKings, $5k FanDuel)
He’s a bit pricey on FanDuel but Williams appears to be the Suns center of the future. Tyson Chandler has not seen the floor since the ASB and Alex Len continues to disappoint while struggling with the pace of the NBA game. There’s very little chance that Len finds much room to operate against the Grizzlies stout front line, but Williams is a grinder who can mix it up and fill the stat sheet in a physical game. He posted 17 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and logged 3 steals in a win at Milwaukee on Sunday and should continue to earn more playing time with his hustle.
Rodney Hood ($4.1k DraftKings, $4.1k FanDuel)
It’s going to take some time for Hood to get fully back to speed after missing several weeks with a knee injury, but he showed flashes of his scoring prowess with 11 points over 27 minutes in a win over the Wizards on Sunday. The Thunder and Jazz are both very solid defensive teams, so you can expect a ton of fantasy production in this game, yet Hood put up a diverse line to exceed value in his last appearance and he should be able to exploit the Thunder’s backcourt if Victor Oladipo (back) is inactive or hobbled tonight.
If, Then Player
If Cody Zeller (quad) remains out for Charlotte you can consider Frank Kaminsky as a solid mid-tier value on FanDuel and bump up Lakers bigs such as Julius Randle and even Ivica Zubac against a softer defense.
