Week 3 of the NFL season here and while I certainly hit on a few options, there were a few that also let me down quite a bit. I hope you guys were able to take advantage of some of the overlay around the industry and were able to take down some nice cash over the weekend. Let’s take a look at who we should be considering in our stacks!
QB/WR Stacks
My first stack is a duo that connected frequently last weekend and now gets to take on a team that might not even compete for an NCAA national championship at this point. Ryan Tannehill-Jarvis Landry should be near the top of your list in your games this weekend. I even think it’s a safe combo for your cash lineups.
My next two stacks come from the same game and while we have seen that blow up in our faces already this season, I just can’t avoid the possibility of an old fashioned shootout. Andrew Luck-TY Hilton and Philip Rivers-Tyrell Williams should be in for some fantasy goodness in Indianapolis. With Indy losing Moncrief, I feel as though Luck is going to try to lean on Hilton and Dwayne Allen in this one. Rivers should be somewhat popular against a pretty banged up secondary and while I think most will pair him with Travis Benjamin, I am looking to be slightly contrarian and pair him with Tyrell Williams, who did catch a TD last week, but was overshadowed by Benjamin’s 2 scores.
I will include a fourth stack as I think this combo hooks up for not one, but two TD’s this weekend. Dak Prescott-Dez Bryant looked like they were starting to get in rhythm together last weekend and now they take on a Bears team that looks absolutely horrendous right now.
RB/DEF Stacks
I will be honest, the RB-DEF stacks are a little unattractive this week so I am actually going to look to some spots that I do not think many will go in terms of combinations. There are a couple that I think will be somewhat popular thanks to the weak match-up. My first one is going to be Charles Sims-Tampa Bay as they get to face a Rams offense traveling across the country after an ugly win. The Rams offense has yet to score a TD this season and I think Tampa has the right defense to continue to slow them down. Sims steps in for the injured Doug Martin and should be in a great spot to see 15+ touches. I love his ability out of the backfield.
My favorite defense this weekend is Miami as they take on the wounded Browns offense and I am going to look to go Jay Ajayi-Miami in a number of spots. I can be talked into Kenyan Drake as well, however I think Ajayi sees 18+ carries and finds the end zone in this one as I would be shocked if Miami puts up less than 30.
Two that should be popular are Ezekial Elliott-Dallas going up against the Bears at home and Christine Michael-Seattle taking on the 49ers at home as well. Michael has looked really solid and I think the Seahawks are going to try and use a pounding running game to set up their struggling offense.
Returner/DEF Stacks
Like I mentioned in week 1, Tyler Lockett-Seattle will always find its way into this write-up as long as Lockett is healthy. The big issue is that Lockett isn’t 100% so we will want to make sure he is good to go, as long as he is, he should be deployed as a dangerous return man who has the ability to put up 2 TD’s on the offensive end. The next 4 are used in different ways on offense, however they are definitely utilized while also having the ability to take a return back to the house.
Tavon Austin-Rams, Ted Ginn-Carolina, Eli Rogers-Pittsburgh and Jarvis Landry-Miami are all combinations that I will be using this weekend for various reasons. Ginn is a huge deep ball threat and while I love Minnesota’s defense, I am always afraid of deep balls against them. Carolina’s defense could be in for a solid performance at home as Minnesota lost AP and their starting LT, Matt Kalil. I like Pitt’s D this weekend as they take on a rookie who has looked solid but will definitely have some downs at some point and Eli Rogers has earned the trust of Big Ben and Ben came out and said they need to get him the ball more after he finished with just 1 catch last week. Landry has already been discussed, however he offers excellent value thanks to his punt return ability.
There you have it for Week3, a list of my favorite stacking options. Make sure you let me know how you feel about my article in the comments below or on Twitter. Make sure to let me know how terrible I am, however if you do that be ready for me to point out when I nailed it! Best of luck and may your accounts be plentiful come Tuesday morning!
