The NBA Daily Plays for Friday, February 5th breaks down the best Stud, Value and GPP plays at each position for FanDuel and DraftKings daily fantasy sports contests. The Stud & Value plays should be considered relatively chalky and are ideal for cash games. The GPP plays dig a little deeper to hopefully find some low owned talent who could pay off big in a tournament. Make sure you check out our NBA projections page to help in your DFS research. We have also added an NBA Injury News page which monitors all injury news and offers pivot plays to consider if the injured player ends up sitting.
Game Lines

Point Guard
Studs
Chris Paul (FD $9,700, DK $9,500) –
I don’t know about you, but I’ll keep targeting CP3 as long as Blake Griffin is out. Paul is the first, second and third scoring option for the Clippers AND he has the ball in his hands for the majority of the game. I love that he’s still under 10k on both sites and I think he’ll take full advantage of his cushy matchup against the Magic. STUD!
Values
Donald Sloan (FD $4,400, DK $4,300)-
A starting PG that is playing against the Kings for only 4400? Sign me up! Sloan isn’t a guy that’s going to get you 40 points in a night, but he’s good for reaching value and may even exceed value tonight thanks to the Kings up-tempo game pace. If you want to fit more than one of the studs tonight, paying down at PG isn’t a bad idea.
Shooting Guard
Studs
Monta Ellis (FD $6,800, DK $6,700) –
The shooting guard position is downright ugly tonight. They aren’t a lot of guys that I’d like to pay up for, luckily the ones that I really like tonight aren’t that expensive. Ellis was on fire for a few games and then cooled off in his last two. I think he gets back on track today against the Hawks. The Hawks are a good team, but they don’t have anyone that can keep tabs on Ellis and his speed. I sure hope they put Kyle Korver on him, that would really make my night.
GPP Plays
Brad Beal (FD $5,900, DK $6,100) –
There may not be a better GPP option on the board tonight. We all know what Beal is capable of, he can shoot the lights at on any given day. But since coming back from injury, the Wizards have eased him back into the game, so he hasn’t really been reaching value. I think this will keep him off of a lot of people’s radar. He has a sweet matchup against the Sixers tonight, and I think he’ll light them up. He is worth a start in your GPP lineups tonight.
Small Forward
Studs
LeBron James (FD $10,200, DK $9,600) –
The King has risen! LeBron has been on fire lately and you can tell because he price has risen across the industry. Even thought it’s gone up, I have no problem starting him against the Celtics tonight. He always seems to show up against his Eastern Conference rivals. He also gets a soft matchup against a Celtics team that really struggles to contain small forwards. He’s one of the few studs that I’d easily pay up for.
Values
Robert Covington (FD $5,000, DK $6,200) –
RoCo is the only Sixer that I like tonight. His price is still pretty low and he’s getting a ton of minutes. He also will be playing in a game that will be fast paced and has a high total. Even if this game is a blowout, he’ll still get his minutes and should be able to rack up the stats.
GPP Plays
Danilo Gallinari (FD $6,900, DK $6,900) –
Gallo is in a bit of a cold streak right now. I know exactly what will get him out of his funk, a matchup against Chicago!! The Bulls have been terrible against the small forwards this year, I thought it was because of Nikola Mirotic, but he’s been out and they still stink. Gallinari has a great matchup tonight and is in a great spot to bounce back.
Power Forward
Studs
Kevin Love (FD $7,700, DK $7,800) –
#NarrativeStreet!! That’s right, I love me some narratives. Kevin Love is taking on the Celtics and Kelly Olynyk. The last time these two played against each other, Kelly ripped KLoves shoulder out of it’s socket. So, you know Kevin is going to want to put a hurting on the Celtics tonight. He’s been playing great lately and I don’t see him slowing down anytime soon. Lock him in!
Values
Taj Gibson (FD $5,300, DK $5,800)-
Keep an eye on Pau Gasol’s status. If Pau is to miss this game with a wrist injury then make sure you lock in Taj. He’s been starting and putting up good stats lately and will have an even bigger opportunity if Pau is to miss time too.
GPP Plays
Thaddeus Young (FD $6,400, DK $6,200) –
Who’s the power forward that’s playing against the Kings tonight? Thad. Oh. I’ll play him then. That’s pretty much how it goes when the Kings are on the slate. Sacramento is terrible at guarding most positions on the court and power forward is no exception. Thad has been up and down lately, but I think he gets back on track in this high scoring game.
Center
Studs
DeMarcus Cousins (FD $11,000, DK $11,300) –
DeMarcus isn’t happy right now. His team is on a big losing streak right now and their falling further away from the 8th spot in the west. What can do they do to cheer up Boogie? GIVE HIM THE DAMN BALL! Cousins is going up against Brook Lopez tonight, which is a blessing. Lopez doesn’t get a whole lot of rebounds, so look for Cousins to gobble all of them up. I’m calling a huge double-double for DeMarcus Cousins tonight.
Values
Jordan Hill (FD $4,600, DK $5,900)-
I think this guy will be overlooked tonight. There are a lot of good plays in the center position and people may want to save money somewhere else. Hill has been starting and been playing pretty well (except for last game). He goes up agasint the Hawks tonight, who have struggled against the center position. If you’re trying to pay up for LeBron and/or CP3 tonight, you may want to consider JHill.
GPP Plays
Nikola Vucevic (FD $7,900, DK $7,300) –
This guy gets no respect. Does anyone play him in DFS? He’s a solid basketball player, but he doesn’t have the highest of ceilings. Tonight, he takes on the Clippers who have been TERRIBLE against the center position lately. This will be a high scoring game and a fun one to watch as he and DeAndre Jordan go at it.
