NFL Week 17 DFS Stacking Options

DFS NFL

Welcome to week 17 as the regular season winds down! We get a pretty decent week 17 as only 1 team that has clinched a playoff spot is playing for basically nothing and that is Washington. The rest of the teams are jockeying for seeding and home field advantages. Let’s take a look at some of the combinations/stacks for this weekend!

QB/WR Stacks

Starting at the top I have to go back to last week’s dud of a combination as Ben Roethlisberger/Antonio Brown really let the DFS world down as they just did NOT show up against the weak Ravens secondary. This week they get to battle the Browns and they need to win and get some help to make the playoffs. The best time to use a combo is the week after they really let down the masses and this week is the perfect time to do that.

My second duo resides in Atlanta as Matt Ryan/Julio Jones get to take on what many view as the weakest pass defense in history, while playing at home. Julio is chasing some history and needs a big game to break a couple records and I could see him finishing with 20+ targets in this game.

My third duo is Eli Manning/Odell Beckham Jr and most are going to say really, they have nothing to play for! You are right in the respect to they have no shot at the playoffs, however pride is a huge motivating factor and I expect Beckham Jr. to show up with a little chip on his shoulder after getting suspended.

My last two are combinations that will be under owned as Brian Hoyer/DeAndre Hopkins could be a sneaky duo as Hoyer returns from a concussion and then Zach Mettenberger/Dorial Green-Beckham as they take on the Colts weak pass D that seems to be getting worse.

RB/DEF Stacks

My top combination is Todd Gurley/St Louis as they get to take on the 49ers after they went into Seattle and won.  Gurley did sit out practice on Wednesday so we will want to monitor but if he is good to go then this duo makes for a great GPP/Cash game combination.

My second duo could very well be the first one for many as DeAngelo Williams/Pittsburgh are both in great situations as Williams just does everything right now and Pitt gets to face a Browns team that has to start Austin Davis this weekend. DeAngelo didn’t disappoint last week while the Pitt D definitely did.

My third combination is James White/New England as they get to face a Dolphins team that has seemed to just give up to end the season.  White has scored a TD in 4 straight games and 5 out of the last 6.

My last combination is Charcandrick West/Kansas City as the KC D has been playing extremely well and this team is the hottest team in football.  West hasn’t been as explosive since he got hurt, however he should see the ball 15-20 times in this one and could certainly be a sneaky GPP play this weekend.

Returner/DEF Stacks

The top one is one we have already touched on in different categories as Antonio Brown/Pittsburgh are just excellent plays for varying reasons and Brown gets to touch the ball on PR’s as well.

My second favorite option for this weekend is Tavon Austin/St Louis.  We already touched on St Louis with Gurley earlier, and now we talk about how Austin is a big part of the offense as he touches the ball via the pass as well as rushes and is as dangerous as any return man in the NFL.

My third combination is Ted Ginn/Carolina as Ginn has been full of big plays all season long and the Panthers need to see their defense tighten up and they certainly could do that against Winston and the Bucs this weekend.

This is a weekend that you might get Tyler Lockett/Seattle at a very low ownership as they take on Arizona, in Arizona.  We know how dangerous Lockett can be and how involved he has become in the offense.

There you have it, Week 17 quick run down for you.  As always please feel free to hit me up on twitter or in the comments section below with any questions, thoughts or concerns you may have!  Best of luck this weekend DFS’ers!
