NBA Daily Plays

NBA Daily Plays

The NBA Daily Plays for Wednesday, December 30th breaks down the best Stud, Value and GPP plays at each position for FanDuel and DraftKings daily fantasy sports contests. The Stud & Value plays should be considered relatively chalky and are ideal for cash games. The GPP plays dig a little deeper to hopefully find some low owned talent who could pay off big in a tournament. Make sure you check out our NBA projections page to help in your DFS research. We have also added an NBA Injury News page which monitors all injury news and offers pivot plays to consider if the injured player ends up sitting.

Draftkings pricing has tightened up significantly. This is most likely due to their headliner GPPs they have running tonight. FanDuel NBA pricing is definitely lagging behind DraftKings tonight. This causes some of the plays to be great plays on FanDuel but only decent plays on DraftKings.

Point Guard

Studs

John Wall (FD $10,000, DK $9,700) –

Wall has put up just 1 dud along with 8 other solid fantasy performances since Beal went down with his injury. He should continue this trend tonight even though he draws the matchup with Kyle Lowry who has been a solid defender all season. This game should stay competitive throughout and does have a decent over/under to go with its close spread.

Values

Shaun Livingston,  (FD $3,600, DK $3,500)-

The question of the night is if Luke Walton will rest Steph Curry for the next two games. If he sits Livingston should quickly become the darling value play of the night. I anticipate the over/under and spread adjusting more if Curry is indeed sitting but this game figures to stay close throughout with Livingston facilitating the best offense in the league.

GPP Plays

Kemba Walker,  (FD $8,400, DK $7,600)-

Walker put up a 60+ point night last time out and now faces off against Chris Paul. Paul’s defense has been much improved over the last 5 games which is why Kemba is a GPP play for me tonight. His ownership is tough to predict as I could see recency bias setting in and people jumping on board.

Shooting Guard

Studs

CJ McCollum,  (FD $8,200, DK $7,700) –

McCollum saw another price increase and is now the highest priced shooting guard at FanDuel along with Jimmy Butler. He should come back down to earth a bit after his 35 point 69 fantasy point explosion. He is still cash game safe with no Lillard but is a guy to consider fading in GPPs.

Values

Gary Harris,  (FD $4,100, DK $4,400)-

Harris has been over 30+ minutes a game for the past week. He should be able to get you 25+ fantasy points and be in line to meet value especially on Fanduel.

GPP Plays

Will Barton,  (FD $6,800, DK $7,100)-

Barton continues to log major minutes with all of the injuries in Denver. He averages over 1 fantasy point per minute and can stuff the stat sheet in numerous ways. He is doing more scoring with no Danilo which has built in a nice floor to his fantasy performances.

Small Forward

Studs

Gordon Hayward, (FD $7,600, DK $7,500)

Favors and Gobert should both be out again tonight which means Hayward should continue to be their # 1 scoring option and pick up a few extra rebounds. If he continues to get over 5 rebounds a game he makes for one of the safer plays at any price on this slate.

Values

Omri Casspi, (FD $5,600, DK $6,200)-

Casspi benefited from the ejection of Boogie last game and started launching 3 pointers going 9 for 12. I don’t expect him to do that again tonight but if this game stays close Casspi should have no problems meeting value.

GPP Plays

Paul George,  (FD $8,500, DK $8,700) –

Everyone is officially off of the Paul George bandwagon after a string of modest to awful fantasy performances. Injured or just talk of being tired is already being thrown around. His price has decreased as well. He is a GPP flyer in a plus matchup as no one will be on him.

Power Forward

Studs

Draymond Green ,  (FD $9,200, DK $9,300) –

Curry being out means the offense should go through Draymond tonight. He should see a big bump up in usage and will be asked to shoulder the load down low. I like his matchup and the fact that this game should now stay close throughout.

Values

Taj Gibson,  (FD $4,800, DK $5,500)-

Taj has gotten a full complement of minutes since the Noah injury. His fantasy performances have been average at best but I do anticipate this Bulls vs Pacers game to play up in pace tonight. I also think C.J. Miles will come off the bench meaning Lavoy Allen draws another start for the Pacers.

GPP Plays

Nerlens Noel, (FD $6,000, DK $5,900)-

With Okafor out Noel has gotten to play center which he looks much more comfortable at. He has put solid stat lines and is always capable of a monster fantasy performance because of all the auxiliary stats he posts.

Center

Studs

Nikola Vucevic,  (FD $8,200, DK $7,700) –

Vuc has been on a roll and now has one of the softest defensive matchups on the slate. I expect his ownership to be high but on a site like FanDuel where only one center is allowed we usually always see the ownership percentages at Center spread out. For this reason I think Vuc still makes for a solid GPP play on FanDuel and is also cash game safe.
