The NBA Daily Plays for Tuesday, November 17th breaks down the best Stud, Value and GPP plays at each position for FanDuel and DraftKings daily fantasy sports contests. The Stud & Value plays should be considered relatively chalky and are ideal for cash games. The GPP plays dig a little deeper to hopefully find some low owned talent who could pay off big in a tournament. Make sure you check out our NBA projections page to help in your DFS research.

Point Guard

Studs

Steph Curry, Golden State Warriors (FD $11,000, DK $10,700) –

Steph Curry is a stud. You know this. I know this. People in Poland probably know this. Tonight, he’ll battle vs. Kyle Lowry and the Raptors, who were pretty terrible at defending point guards last year. Chef Curry is still underpriced around the industry.

Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors (FD $8,600, DK $8,200) –

In a high-scoring matchup, it’s never a bad idea to roster one of the best scorers in said showdown. Curry and Lowry will go back and forth tonight, and the Toronto point guard will likely build upon his four-game streak of 20+ point games.

Values

Emmanuel Mudiay (FD $5,900, DK $6,100) –

I’m a big fan of the rookie’s game, as he does it all on the floor. He reminds me of Elfrid Payton in a way, as his tendency to grab a decent amount of boards nightly is a huge boost, especially when his shot his off. The Pelicans are pretty horrible defensively, and I think Mudiay will be able to deliver on his pricetag in this one. Our spreadsheets have him hitting a whopping 6x his value.

GPP Plays

Kemba Walker (FD $7,000, DK $6,400) –

Because the Hornets are such an unattractive fantasy team, many people don’t like playing Kemba Walker. However, the point guard has the ability to explode, as he nearly reached triple-double status vs. the Bulls just last week. Walker makes a great pivot from Kyle Lowry tonight, and should be able to stuff the stat sheet against a putrid Knicks defense.

Reggie Jackson (FD $7,600, DK $7,700) –

Reggie Jackson makes for a great GPP play, due to his volatility and tendency to score in chunks. However, many will avoid his high deviation, as his price tag is a tad inflated. Mo Williams is solid offensively, but can’t defend to save his life. The Pistons will look to Jackson to attack the weak backcourt of the Cavaliers, and the point guard offers far more reward than risk.

Shooting Guard

Values

Will Barton, Denver Nuggets (FD $5,000, DK $4,700) –

Will Barton is one of the top plays on the board tonight, regardless of price and position. The Nuggets are a mess offensively, and Barton has been one of the few consistent scoring options. He’s logged over 30 minutes in his past two outings, scoring in double digits and collecting multiple steals. Barton has also been absolute money with the 3 ball lately, making 7 of his last 11 attempts. His opponent tonight, the Pelicans, are allowing 8.8 threes per game. Make sure you have Barton everywhere.

GPP Plays

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks (FD $7,000, DK $7,000) –

It’ll be hard to find a contrarian play at shooting guard tonight, as the pickings are very slim. I think most of the playing field will gravitate towards DeMar DeRozan in a high-scoring matchup, but the Warriors have shut down opposing shooting guards this season. Giannis has a much better chance of doing damage, as no one on the Wizards matches up well with the Greek Freek.

Small Forward

Studs

LeBron James (FD $10,200, DK $10,100) –

As the best basketball player in the world, LeBron James is still criminally underpriced. LeBron has only scored under 20 points once this season, as the ball has been in his hands constantly with Kyrie Irving ailing. James has a touch matchup vs. a solid Detroit defense, but he’s pretty much unstoppable right now.

Values

Otto Porter, Washington Wizards (FD $5,500, DK $5,400) –

If Bradley Beal sits out again tonight, Otto Porter makes for a great value play. Porter logged 35+ minutes plus on Saturday, terrorizing the Magic with four steals and nearly putting up a double-double. Over their last three games, the Bucks are turning the ball over 16 times on average. The small forward has the opportunity to stuff the stat sheet once again.

GPP Plays

Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks (FD $9,600, DK $8,500) –

40% of the field will likely go with LeBron James tonight, which opens up Carmelo has a great tournament play. The Knick seems to have found the fountain of youth, as his scoring tear recently is off the charts. Anthony faces a Hornets team tonight that he put up 29 points against just 6 days prior. At under $9,000 on DraftKings, Carmelo could put up the best value on the board tonight.

Power Forward

Studs

Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans (FD $10,900, DK $10,800) –

The Brow is back, that is until he suffers another minor injury. Anthony Davis has been frustrating this season, but remains the best power forward in the NBA. Davis scored 36 points on Sunday, and could do even more damage against a Denver front court that will simply have no answer for him.

Values

Kristaps Porzingis, New York Knicks (FD $5,400, DK $5,900) –

Kristaps is still ridiculously inexpensive on FanDuel, which won’t last for long. The rookie has been uncharacteristically consistent, logging favorable minutes while putting in work in the post. He grabbed 15 rebounds against the Hornets last Wednesday, and will look to build upon that performance vs. Charlotte tonight.

GPP Plays

Paul Millsap (FD $8,300, DK $7,900) –

If you’re not looking to break the bank at power forward tonight, Paul Millsap is a fantastic pivot play. At just under $8k on DraftKings, Millsap has dominated with both buckets and boards all season long. The Atlanta all star may not put up Brow-type numbers tonight, but he’s almost certain to deliver on his value.

Center

Studs

Andre Drummond (FD $9,800, DK $9,900) –

Can anyone stop Andre Drummond? On the season, the Big Man is averaging 18.5/19, which is unheard of. It doesn’t seem that Drummond plans on slowing down, as he absolutely obliterated the Lakers for 17/17 last Sunday. Although things won’t come so easily tonight against Cleveland as they did in Los Angeles, the Cavaliers don’t have the firepower to stop him either.

GPP Plays

Al Horford (FD $7,800, DK $7,200) –

Al Horford is having a career season, and yet his price tag has barely budged. Tonight is the night to take advantage, as Atlanta will feed Horford the ball frequently in an attempt to terrorize the frontcourt in Brooklyn. On the season, the Nets are giving up 53.8 FPPG on DraftKings, where Horford is barely above $7000.
