Week 10 is upon us and normally I would dive into last week’s successes and failures, however I am so focused on the upcoming slate that I want to dive right in and give you my thoughts. Check them out below!
QB/WR Stacks
Taking a look at week 10 has me excited at the number of combinations out there for stacking purposes. I think my top two choices are playing against each other as Tom Brady/Rob Gronkowski take on Eli Manning/Odell Beckham Jr. This game is expected to be very high scoring and we know that the Patriots love to take it to teams. I think there are a couple of other options at WR in this game that you can certainly include in your stacks as Julian Edelman and Reuben Randle are in excellent spots. I think both of these QBs make excellent cash game options. My next duo is one that finally came alive after weeks of hibernation as they get to head back home to take on the Lions. That combination is Aaron Rodgers/Randall Cobb. Rodgers was pretty upset with his performance late in the game and I would expect him to come out with something to prove as he is going to try and avoid a 3 game losing streak.
With the way the Raiders pass game has been clicking, it’s going to be tough for me to not use Derek Carr/Michael Crabtree or Amari Cooper this weekend against my Vikings. Cooper has been a big play guy while Crabtree has been ultra-reliable. I think you can use either and reap the benefits this weekend, especially if Latavius Murray is limited in any way from his concussion. My last duo is that of Blake Bortles/Allen Robinson. The Jaguars passing game has been extremely consistent this season and I think there’s a good chance that will continue this weekend as Bortles is one of my favorite QB choices. Allen Hurns is hobbled and is very questionable at this point, so with that news I have to be all over Allen Robinson.
RB/DEF Stacks
I think the top option is going to surprise you, ok, maybe it won’t as Todd Gurley is just a beast so I will be looking to pair him with the St Louis Rams defense. The Rams defense gets to feast on a Jay Cutler lead offense while being able to do this while playing at home. My second stack option is DeMarco Murray/Philadelphia Eagles as they get to take on a turnover prone Miami Dolphins team. Murray has really turned it on over the last few weeks and his defense is a big play defense that is able to turn a mistake into 6 the other way. Add in the fact that they have dangerous return men in Josh Huff and Darren Sproles and you have the recipe for a big day. I think an interesting duo is that of James Starks/Green Bay Packers as they get to take on a QB that apparently loves to throw picks as they take on the Detroit Lions. This is an interesting option as Mike McCarthy just came out to say that Starks is now their number 1 back, even though they want to continue with the 1-2 punch. My last combination is one that would be based on their offense going nuts and then just pounding away while their defense would be picking off passes left and right, which is definitely an option. LeGarrette Blount/New England Patriots could put up a large amount of points as Blount seems to put up excellent totals when he is given double digit carries and Eli Manning is rather turnover prone, or at least that is what I hear.
Returner/DEF Stacks
I think my top option here is going to be Tavon Austin/St Louis Rams as Austin has been pretty active in their offense as he has 19 touches over the last two games and I expect that to continue. If for whatever reason you decide to go cheaper at the RB spot, you could certainly do a TON worse than pairing the Rams defense with Tavon Austin. My second and third options are basically hoping they get a return TD to help out the DEF while being heavily involved in the passing game as Jarvis Landry/Miami Dolphins and Dwayne Harris/New York Giants are in spots where they are the underdogs. Landry is in the better spot as his defense has shown flashes while Bradford has turned the ball over a bit this season. Harris and the Giants are a shot in the dark as the Patriots offense should do some damage, however their pass defense has shown big play ability and we never know when a tipped pass is going to turn into a pick 6. With that, Dwayne Harris is their number 3 WR and has been involved in the passing game, while also returning kicks for TDs. Of course I cannot leave out Tyler Lockett/Seattle Seahawks as they get a tough opponent, but they get to take them on at home which is a place the Seattle defense has had more success this season. Lockett is ultra-dangerous and can turn any touch into a TD. He seems to more and more heavily used in the offense now and I love the idea of him getting 6+ touches on offense. I think one last option for me this week is going to be Ted Ginn/Carolina Panthers as the Panthers def is always in play, while Ginn has actually been a solid WR this season.
There you have it, week 10’s stacking options! I can’t wait for the games to start as I feel really good about some of the options this weekend. There are a lot of interesting QB options and a number of games that have some fantasy goodness. As always, should you have any thoughts, concerns or suggestions please let me know below or on twitter!!
