Strengths
The Tennesee Titans DFS matchup has been one of the most discussed units since the injury to Jason McCourty. Perrish Cox was the splashy offseason signing, coming over from the 49ers. He had interest from a number of other teams before deciding on the Titans. He definitely is an upgrade over the other two potential starters that will fill the roll left by McCourty. Da’Norris Searcy was the other big free agent signing for this secondary. He is solid against the run for Buffalo last year.
Weaknesses
With Jason McCourty expected to miss at least the first three weeks of the regular season, the Titans start out incredibly thin at the cornerback position. Daily gamers are licking their chops at the opportunity to play receivers against Blidi Wreh-Wilson or Coty Sensabaugh. Both should see time so if Mike Evans cannot go in week 1 I think Vincent Jackson will be a great play to consider in week 1. If Evans can play this weekend then he is obviously worthy of consideration for some roster spots as well. Michael Griffin is penciled in as the starting free safety this year and for as bad as he was last year, few expected him to return. The Titans apparently didn’t have any other options so he is also someone to look at exploiting.
Overall Outlook
The Titans defensive backfield is the perfect matchup to exploit for DFS purposes until McCourty returns. Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson both make for solid plays with Vjax getting a sizeable bump if Evans isn’t able to go. They should fly somewhat under the radar of novice players but do yourself a favor and have some exposure to one or both in week 1.
