Strengths

While this secondary wasn’t one considered one of the best last season, many things changed this offseason and it has quickly become an elite unit. They signed cornerbacks Darrell Revis and Antonio Cromartie, as well as signing safety Marcus Gilchrist. Add Calvin Pryor into the mix and you have a scary good secondary. Revis did an excellent job in New England last season and was one of the key components to their Super Bowl title. He and Cromartie were once considered one of the best tandems in the league, and while they are passed their primes, they both still have plenty left in the tank to be a very good secondary. Not to mention, their D-line is very good which will create problems for quarterbacks and give the secondary a break.

Weaknesses

The only potential weakness in this Jets secondary is the only starter they have returning from last year Calvin Pryor. He was adequate as their starting strong safety but it is safe to say that the elevated play of those around him in 2015 will do wonders for his numbers. He should thrive playing alongside three potential Pro Bowlers.

Overall Outlook

While the numbers for this defense in 2014 wasn’t elite, they have made many changes that can make those numbers deceiving. When you have Revis on your team, you have half of the field covered in just about every down he plays. Barring injuries, this should be a tough secondary all season.
