CBB Daily Plays 3/8

Posted By PlayPicks Staff on March 8, 2015 - Last Updated on June 27, 2018

Welcome to today’s CBB Daily plays article on DFSreport.  Today offers us a 6 game slate on both sites and some pretty tight O/U’s.  Should make for an interesting afternoon and some tightly contested GPP’s.

Today’s Game Lines:

FANDUEL GUARD PLAYS

Stud:  D.J. Newbill, Penn St ($9,100) – You will see Newbill on here twice today as the guard spot just leaves a lot to be desired and his price is $100 cheaper on FD.  Newbill is by far Penn St’s best player and is not afraid to put up 20+ shots any time he steps onto the floor.  The last time these two teams met, Newbill went for a double double and 34.7 fantasy points.  In that game he only made 4 of 15 shots so should his shot fall a little better today, we could be looking at a very nice game.

Mid-Range:  Andre Hollins, Minnesota ($7,200) – I know Hollins has struggled a bit the last few games for Minnesota but he is capable of going off for 40+ fantasy points and is not afraid to fire up shots.  I think today offers us the Senior Day narrative and I believe Hollins will want to go out with a bang.

Value:  Carlos Morris, Minnesota ($4,900) – Morris has stepped up the last two games and has put up 44.1 fantasy points in those two.  He is a streaky shooter and should offer us 35+ fantasy point upside today, in a game that should be somewhat up and down.

FANDUEL FORWARD PLAYS

Stud:  Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin ($10,600) – You will see Kaminsky twice today as the Forward position is void of top options.  Kaminsky is making an awesome final push to be crowned Player of the Year and he certainly gets my vote!  (I do not actually have a vote….I know, how absurd!)  Frank has gone for 44 and 47 fantasy points in his last two and is playing awesome basketball.  He takes on an Ohio St team that should not have an answer for him on the defensive end.  All lineups should start with Kaminsky today.

Mid-Range:  Trashon Burrell, Memphis ($5,600) – Oh it must be a rough slate if I am writing about Burrell.  He has burned many of us over and over this year and I swore I would never go back to him again.  Well, guess it’s time to eat my words here as Burrell has put up 30+ fantasy points in back to back games.  I think he will be highly owned due to his low price, but I think he makes the best option around his price point.

Value:  Ross Travis, Penn St ($4,700) – Travis is another you will see twice today as his price on both sites is just too intriguing to me.   Travis has put up 50.4 fantasy points over his last two games while playing 54 minutes.  I know Newbill takes a ton of shots and that limits Travis to 7-9 shots, but he is very effective when he does get his shots and offers double double upside.

DRAFTKINGS GUARD PLAYS

Stud:  D.J. Newbill, Penn St ($9,200) – Newbill is by far Penn St’s best player and is not afraid to put up 20+ shots any time he steps onto the floor.  The last time these two teams met, Newbill went for a double double and 34.75 fantasy points.  In that game he only made 4 of 15 shots so should his shot fall a little better today, we could be looking at a very nice game.

Mid-Range:  LeRon Barnes, Houston ($5,900) – Houston is a tough team to predict, but Barnes has shown us 32+ fantasy point upside to go along with an excellent ability to rebound from the guard position.  He plays 35+ minutes a game right now and is able to contribute in all categories.

Value:  Cavon Baker, Houston ($3,200) – Baker is certainly a risk as his minutes are far from a guarantee.  With L.J. Rose out, Baker should pick up some extra run and if he does, he offers us a 25 fantasy point upside at basically the minimum, which could be very important should you want to fit a couple of studs in your lineup.  He is coming off of 19 fantasy points in 24 minutes of action.

DRAFTKINGS FORWARD PLAYS

Stud:  Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin ($10,000) – Kaminsky is making an awesome final push to be crowned Player of the Year and he certainly gets my vote!  (I do not actually have a vote….I know, how absurd!)  Frank has gone for 44 and 47 fantasy points in his last two and is playing awesome basketball.  He takes on an Ohio St team that should not have an answer for him on the defensive end.  All lineups should start with Kaminsky today.

Mid-Range:  Nigel Hayes, Wisconsin ($6,700) – Call this one a gut feeling as I think Dekker will be matched up with the athletic Sam Thompson today and that would leave Hayes up against the under sized Jae’Sean Tate.  Do not get me wrong, I really like Tate from a fantasy perspective but I just think Hayes’ offensive game will give him troubles. Hayes has put up 50.75 fantasy points over his last two and is always a double double threat and shoots the ball well from downtown.

Value:  Ross Travis, Penn St ($4,700) – Travis makes the 3rd Penn St player talked about today and I think I am ok with that.  Their prices are very intriguing outside of Newbill and they play in what should be the highest scoring game of the day.  Travis has put up 48.25 fantasy points over his last two games while playing 54 minutes.  I know Newbill takes a ton of shots and that limits Travis to 7-9 shots, but he is very effective when he does get his shots and offers double double upside.
