The NBA DFS season rolls on Thursday, Jan. 10, and we’ve got our best picks for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups tonight.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster.

Injuries play a huge role in NBA DFS on a nightly basis. Value plays on the various daily fantasy sites can arise at a moment’s notice so always, always check the starting lineups and injury news right before tipoff.

The Full Roster contests on FanDuel include a new scoring system in which the lowest score of the nine selected players is dropped, allowing users to take more risks with a punt play or two. Then, DraftKings has brought back its late swap for NBA contests.

NBA DFS Top Plays for January 10, 2019

Best Guards for January 10, 2019

DeMar DeRozan vs. OKC ($8.3k DraftKings, $9.0k FanDuel)

In three of his last five games, DeMar DeRozan has flashed monstrous upside while providing 5.2x salary returns or greater. He has a chance to do so again tonight with the Thunder visiting San Antonio. OKC leads the league in defensive rating but is vulnerable on the wing. They allow the seventh-most PPG (21.87) to SGs this season. For one thing, the Thunder couldn’t stop Andrew Wiggins from netting a season-high 40 points Tuesday night. Now, DeRozan is a far more polished scorer at all levels. The Spurs’ new top option is averaging 31.7 points and a career-high 9 assists per 100 possession in his first year under Gregg Popovich.

De’Aaron Fox vs. DET ($7.6k DraftKings, $8.6k FanDuel)

Detroit is bottom five in DvP against all positions over the last 14 days. They also cough up the fifth-most FPPG (42.06) to opposing PGs on the season. De’Aaron Fox continues to lead the Kings’ fast-paced attack with a 25 percent usage rate. Then, his assist rate has skyrocketed to 32.9 percent during his second NBA campaign. Fox struggled recently in home games against the Blazers, Nuggets, and Warriors but had exceeded value in six straight appearances prior to that homestand. He got back into a scoring rhythm with 24 points, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 8 turnovers in a loss at Phoenix Tuesday and will be motivated to bounce back at home. Detroit allows 111.6 PPG on the road and is on the second half of a B2B set. Fox has a ceiling of 55.1 DraftKings points with the potential for 5.2x salary returns according to models on FantasyLabs.

Reggie Bullock @ SAC ($4.6k DraftKings, $4.5k FanDuel)

The Kings play at the second-fastest pace in the NBA and have dropped five of their last six games while yielding 114.6 PPG in that span. They cough up the most 3PTA (33.9) per game this season, and Reggie Bullock is attempting 10.1 threes per 100 possessions while leading the Pistons in 3PTM (2.5) per game. Sacramento is giving up the most PPG (24.02) and second-most 3PTM (2.8) per game to opposing SGs and is expected to be without defensive stopper Iman Shumpert (finger) in this contest. Expect Bullock to cash in on several open looks as the Kings send help defense toward Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond.

Other guards to consider: Kyrie Irving, Lou Williams, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Josh Richardson Derrick White, Dwyane Wade, Jaylen Brown, Monte Morris

Best Forwards for January 10, 2019

Blake Griffin @ SAC ($9.2k DraftKings, $10.0k FanDuel)

The Kings are starting Nemanja Bjelica at PF and giving him serious minutes with Marvin Bagley (knee) on the shelf. Sacramento could turn to rookie Harry Giles or slow-footed third-year man Skal Labissiere to try and contain Blake Griffin. But they may not find much success with any individual defender. That makes Griffin one of the most appealing per-dollar options on DK. He faces a Kings team that ranks 29th in DvP against PFs over the last 14 days. While Andre Drummond has been less effective in B2B situations, Griffin’s career averages of 21.3 PPG, 9 RPG, and 4.3 APG on 0 days rest are right on par with his usual numbers. Griffin was on a tear with averages of 30.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6 APG over four games before disappointing with 16 points and 0(!) rebounds in a loss to the Lakers last night. That should push his ownership down ahead of an even better matchup.

Torrey Craig vs. LAC ($4.0k DraftKings, $4.3k FanDuel)

If Gary Harris (hamstring) misses another game tonight, Torrey Craig will become a worthy value play on either main DFS site. He went for 11 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists over 39 minutes with Harris inactive in Miami Tuesday and draws a far better matchup tonight against the Clippers. LA is ninth in pace of play and yields the fifth-most offensive RPG (11.7). The 6’7 Craig is becoming more involved offensively with a 13.1% usage rate and should see plenty of run tonight in an effort to contain Clippers star forward Tobias Harris. The Clippers rank 22nd in DvP against SF over the last 14 days and give up plenty of defensive stats, yielding the third-most BPG (6) and eighth-most SPG (8.3) this season.

Derrick Jones Jr. vs. BOS ($4.0k DraftKings, $3.9k FanDuel)

Even with Goran Dragic (knee) on the shelf, Miami has a very crowded backcourt. That’s made it difficult to trust Dwyane Wade or Tyler Johnson. Meanwhile, Derrick Jones Jr. is also a dice roll on DraftKings. Dion Waiters logged 25 minutes Tuesday against Denver, resulting in a DNP-CD for Jones Jr. Yet Waiters was out of action for over a year and could very well be a DNP-CD on Thursday while Jones Jr. logs 25-30 minutes against Boston’s elite defense. Jones Jr. is posting a 117 offensive rating with per 36-minute averages of 13.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.1 STL/BLK this season. He’s best utilized as a punt play on FanDuel, where his potential floor of 0.0 FPs would simply be dropped.

Other forwards to consider: Paul George, Montrezl Harrell, Jayson Tatum, Justise Winslow, Nemanja Bjelica, Bam Adebayo, Trey Lyles

Best Centers for January 10, 2019

Nikola Jokic vs. LAC ($10.5k DraftKings, $11.0k FanDuel)

The Nuggets are in the midst of a brutal five-game week and are looking toward their prolific point center to carry the load. Nikola Jokic has been up to the task with averages of 27.4 PPG, 12.6 PG, and 8.2 APG while posting a 33.6 percent usage rate over his last five appearances. Jokic also sees a 2.7 percent rise in usage (to 30.5) when Gary Harris (hamstring) is off the floor. The Clippers allow the second-most PPG (21.26) and fifth-most RPG (14.67) to opposing centers and cough up 115.6 PPG on the road this season. Only Russell Westbrook has a higher ceiling than Jokic (73.1 DK points) tonight per FantasyLabs.

Willie Cauley-Stein vs. DET ($6.6k DraftKings, $7.5k FanDuel)

While De’Aaron Fox has surprisingly been less productive at home, Willie Cauley-Stein is posting some stark splits with averages of 15.4 PPG, 10.1 RPG, and 3.2 APG in Sacramento this season. He couldn’t ask for a better matchup against a Pistons team that is dead last in DvP against opposing centers over the last 14 days and coughs up the third-most FPPG (46.31) to the position on the season. Cauley-Stein should thrive in a fast-paced game. The Kentucky product is posting a 32.3 percent defensive rebounding rate over his last four appearances. The opposing Andre Drummond often exhibits defensive indifference, and his career scoring and rebounding averages (12.6 PPG, 12.3 RPG) are down when he plays on no rest.

Other centers to consider: Andre Drummond, Hassan Whiteside, Daniel Theis
