As with any daily fantasy sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, game flow and several more factors. This viewpoint is important to remember when constructing a roster on any of the daily fantasy sites.

FanDuel DFS Quarterback Picks

Carson Wentz @ NO $7.7K & Eli Manning @ PHI $6.7K

Going back to Carson Wentz is not a bad tournament option after he had the worst game of his career last week. Many were on Wentz in a high total, and he disappointed. That can sometimes result in lower ownership numbers in GPPs the following week. The Eagles and Giants are playing in one of the highest projected total games of the week (47), and neither has shown any defense of late. New York has allowed the eighth-most yards per game, rushing yards per game, and points per contest. Wentz with Alshon Jeffery and/or Zach Ertz is a tournament approach that may pay off. You can also take a look at the other side of the ball as the Eagles’ defense has been worse than the Giants’ in recent weeks. As you’ll see below, their secondary has a ton of holes, so Eli Manning and all of his weapons make for strong plays. Odell Beckham Jr. may be the best play of the week.

Jameis Winston @ TB $7.5K

The over/under for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers game is the highest of the week (54), and the Buccaneers have one of the highest implied totals (27.5). They are going back to Jameis Winston, who managed to rack up 17 fantasy points on only 16 passing attempts last week. Winston has at least 270 passing yards in 11 of his last 16 games. He’s hit the 300-yard mark twice this season, and his Buccaneers lead the league in yards and passing yards per game. The 49ers have allowed the fourth-most points per game out of all the teams on the main slate, and Winston has big-play weapons in Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson.

Cash game QBs to consider: Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Lamar Jackson

FanDuel DFS Running Back Picks

Nick Chubb @ CIN $7.5K

Nick Chubb enters this week with at least 18 carries in four straight games. Chubb has racked up 406 rushing yards and four touchdowns over that span. He has 374 yards on 66 touches in his three games since the team traded Carlos Hyde. The opposing Bengals have allowed a league-high 32 fantasy points per game to running backs over the last four weeks, and their 13 total rushing touchdowns allowed are the second-most. On top of that, they have allowed the most yards per game and rushing yards per game.

Marlon Mack vs. MIA $7.0K

The loss of center Ryan Kelly may push people away from Marlon Mack, but he’s still in a pretty good spot. The Colts are heavy home favorites and will likely lean on Mack in the closing stages of this game. Miami has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs of all the teams on the main slate. Overall, they have given up the third-most rushing yards per game.

Josh Adams vs. NYG $5.7K

Josh Adams has led the Eagles’ backfield in rushing yards each of his last three games. Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement have taken a backseat and have only been involved in the passing game. Adams continues to trend up, and he had three catches on six targets last week. The New York Giants have allowed 356 rushing yards in their last three games since moving on from Damon Harrison. Despite the grabs, he’s not a strong play in lineups with Wentz.

Cash game RBs to consider: Saquon Barkley, Leonard Fournette, Melvin Gordon, David Johnson, James Conner, Matt Breida

FanDuel DFS Wide Receiver Picks

Alshon Jeffery vs. NYG $7.2K

Just like Carson Wentz, Alshon Jeffery will probably be forgotten this week. It’s been four weeks since Jeffery has topped four catches, 48 yards and double-digit fantasy points. His best game of the season, however, came against the Giants when he caught eight of 12 targets for 74 yards and two touchdowns. I expect this game to cruise over the total of 47, and the Eagles have the fifth-highest team implied total (26.5.) of the week. Jeffery is a contrarian GPP option who you could pair up with Wentz.

Josh Gordon @ NYJ $6.8K

Julian Edelman is a safe cash game play, but Josh Gordon is a solid tournament option due to his touchdown upside. Gordon is trending up with 22 targets in his last two games and at least four catches in five straight. He has at least 81 yards in three of his last four games and has hit the century mark twice over that span. The New York Jets allowed 198 yards to Zay Jones and Robert Foster in their last game.

Sterling Shepard @ PHI $6.0K

Things are not looking good for the Eagles’ secondary as they are onto their sixth and seventh corners.

That’s awful news for a secondary that has allowed a league-high 158 catches to wideouts and the second most (most on main slate) receiving yards to the position. Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley are strong plays, but Shepard may get involved as well. It was Tre’Quan Smith who lit Philly up last week.

Marquise Goodwin @ TB $5.0K

Marquise Goodwin is one of the biggest boom-or-bust players in the game, and we’ve only seen the boom once this season. Goodwin is coming off a four-catch, 49-yard game, but his big showing came earlier in the year when he caught four balls for 126 yards with two touchdowns. As mentioned above, this game features the highest total of the week. Goodwin’s 15.0 aDOT (average depth of target) is the eighth highest among wideouts with 30 targets this season. TB has allowed the most points per game and the third-most passing yards per contest.

Cash game WRs to consider: Odell Beckham Jr., Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, Julian Edelman, T.Y. Hilton, Emmanuel Sanders, D.J. Moore

FanDuel DFS Tight End Picks

Cameron Brate vs. SF $4.4K

Cameron Brate is a chalk play and a free square this week. When it comes to the tight end position, it’s OK to play chalk especially when it’s this easy on the wallet. O.J. Howard is ruled out for the rest of the season, and Brate has three touchdowns despite playing behind him. He also has 17 touchdowns in the past three seasons.

Cash game TEs to consider: Zach Ertz, George Kittle, Greg Olsen

FanDuel Defense DFS Picks

Baltimore Ravens vs. OAK $5.0K

Most don’t like to spend up for a defense in a tournament, which should make the Ravens a sneaky contrarian play despite an amazing matchup. Derek Carr has been held without a touchdown pass in three of his past five games, and he’s been held under 200 yards passing in three games over that span as well. Baltimore ranks eighth in sacks to go along with the fewest yards and second-fewest passing yards allowed per game.

Cash game DSTs to consider: Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers
