NHL DFS Centers

Sean Monahan vs. MTL ($6.9 DK / $7.6 FD)

The Montreal Canadiens enter tonight’s game against the Calgary Flames having allowed at least four goals in seven of their last eight contests. They rank inside the top 10 in goals against per game, and Carey Price has given up 19 goals in his past four starts. Sean Monahan has nine goals and 19 points in 18 games with 51 shots on goal.

Travis Zajac @ PHI ($5.5 DK / $4.6 FD)

Nico Hischier has already been ruled out of this game against the Philadelphia Flyers, and that’s a plus for Travis Zajac’s value. Zajac played a season-high 22 minutes in the Devils’ last game on a line with Taylor Hall. Zajac scored a goal and added an assist to increase his point total to 13 in 15 games. He has a ridiculously high shooting percentage (30), but the ice time and opportunity on the top line are there. The Flyers have allowed the fourth-most goals per game.

Others to consider: Dylan Larkin, Max Domi, Matt Duchene, Mika Zibanejad, Steven Stamkos, Joe Pavelski, Eric Staal

NHL DFS Wingers

Filip Forsberg @ ARI (7.3 DK / $7.9 FD)

It’s worth it to spend up for Filip Forsberg in this spot against the Arizona Coyotes. After a strong start to the season, Darcy Kuemper has looked awful of late filling in for the injured Antti Raanta. Kuemper has allowed at least four goals in four of his past five outings. He surrendered five on 17 shots in his latest game, and the team in front of him hasn’t helped one bit. Arizona ranks inside the top 10 in scoring chances and high danger scoring chances allowed per 60 minutes at 5 on 5. Detroit is the only other team on the slate who has allowed more high-danger chances than Arizona. Take a look at Colton Sissons, who is on the top line with Forsberg. He can save you a bit of cash.

Anthony Mantha @ OTT ($4.9 DK / $4.0 DK)

I have to go back to Anthony Mantha after he scored a goal Tuesday to give him three in his past two games. Mantha continues to skate on the top line with Dylan Larkin, and this is a really good matchup. The Ottawa Senators are allowing a league-high 38.7 shots per game and 4.22 goals against per game. They rank inside the top 10 in high-danger scoring chances against and overall scoring chances per hour at 5 on 5. In fact, both of these teams allow a lot of rubber. Expect a few goals.

Drake Batherson vs. DET ($3.2 DK / $3.0 FD)

Drake Batherson will make his NHL debut tonight on a line with Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel. Batherson is fresh off being named AHL Player of the Week and has 20 points in 14 games with the Belleville Senators. The Detroit Red Wings have allowed the third-most high danger scoring chances at 5 on 5, per 60 minutes, and they rank inside the top 10 in goals allowed per game.

Andrew Shaw @ CGY ($4.2 DK / $3.5 FD)

I’m just going to continue to ride this streak out, and you should as well. Andrew Shaw has goals in three straight games and five points over that span on the top line with Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin. Shaw is getting time on the power play and has logged the most minutes of the season over the last three contests. The Calgary Flames have given up the third-most high danger scoring chances at 5 on 5, per 60 minutes, out of all the teams on the slate. It’s a cheap way of getting a piece of Domi, who has points in 15 of his 18 games this season. Also, Mike Smith has a 3.51 GAA and .877 save percentage.

Others to consider: Nikita Kucherov, Mikael Granlund, Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone, Andreas Athanasiou, Zach Parise, Anders Lee, Elias Lindholm

NHL DFS Defensemen

Victor Hedman @ PIT ($5.8 DK / $6.2 FD)

There’s definitely some value when it comes to Victor Hedman’s price on DraftKings. He may only have three goals and five points in 11 games, but he has tremendous upside. The Pittsburgh Penguins have coughed up the fifth-most shots per game and rank inside the top 10 in high-danger scoring chances allowed. The Penguins will likely go back to Matt Murray, who has given up at least five goals in four of his past six outings.

Mark Giordano vs. MON ($5.6 DK / $5.6 FD)

Mark Giordano does a bit of everything: plays heavy minutes, gets power play time, shoots a ton, and blocks a lot of shots. He also has 16 points in 18 games and the fifth-most fantasy points per game on both sites. His point total and 57 shots on goal rank fifth among defensemen.

Others to consider: Thomas Chabot, Roman Josi, Shayne Gostisbehere, Matt Dumba, Erik Karlsson, Dennis Cholowski, Ryan Ellis, Neal Pionk

NHL DFS Goalies

Pekka Rinne @ ARI ($7.9 DK / $9.2 FD)

Pekka Rinne is a strong cash play and checks in at a decent price on DK. He’s the most expensive goalie on FanDuel, which makes sense. Rinne leads the league in save percentage at 5 on 5, per 60 minutes, and it’s not like Arizona won’t put pucks on net. They rank inside the top 10 in shots per game, but they are 28th in goals per game. You’re paying for a solid chance at a W.
