Week 10 of NFL DFS is here, and we’re looking to cash in on the big daily fantasy football money at FanDuel. Now through the playoffs, we’ll bring you our top NFL DFS GPP picks for each position and recommend some Cash plays as well.
As with any daily fantasy sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, gameflow, and several more factors. This is important to remember when constructing a roster on any of the daily fantasy sites.
FanDuel DFS Week 10 Tournaments
FanDuel DFS Quarterback Picks
Matt Ryan @ CLE ($8.5K)
The Atlanta Falcons are averaging 31 points per game over a current three-game winning streak. Matt Ryan threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns last week in Washington. He’s averaging the third-most FanDuel points per game (25.1) among main slate QBs. It was his fourth game with at least three passing touchdowns, which he failed to do once last season. His 19 passing TDs are one off his season total from a year ago. The Cleveland Browns have allowed 33.5 points per game over a current four-game losing streak and could be without top corner Denzel Ward. They’ve given up the third-most yards per game and the sixth-most passing yards per game.
Philip Rivers @ OAK ($8.2K)
The Oakland Raiders are completely checked out, which was evident last week against Nick Mullens and the San Francisco 49ers. Oakland’s defense ranks 31st in pass DVOA, according to Football Outsiders, and have allowed the second-most points per game. Overall, the Raiders have given up the sixth-most yards per game, ninth-most passing yards, and 10th-most fantasy points per game to the QB position. On top of that, they’ve allowed the most rushing yards per game. Los Angeles’ 30.5-point implied total is tied for the second highest of the week, and they’ve won five straight games. Philip Rivers has thrown at least two passing touchdowns in each of his eight games.
Cash game QBs to consider: Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Jared Goff
FanDuel DFS Running Back Picks
Kareem Hunt vs. ARI ($9.0K)
Kareem Hunt is $1,800 cheaper than Todd Gurley, and he’s closed the gap in terms of production. Hunt extended his TD streak to eight games with three total touchdowns in Week 9. His 13 touchdowns are just three back of Gurley, and he’s second to him in carries. Hunt has scored at least one touchdown in every game since failing to find the end zone in Week 1. The Arizona Cardinals have given up the second-most rushing yards per game and the second-most fantasy points per game to RBs. With the Chiefs having a high team total (33.5) and the biggest spread margin (-16.5), don’t be surprised if you see a heavy dose of Hunt.
Aaron Jones vs. MIA ($6.5K)
Aaron Jones fumbled last week, which put the game on ice for the New England Patriots, and he was benched in the process. It’s probably enough reason to make Jones a contrarian play in tournaments. Jones did a lot of good things in that game, though. He came away with a season-high 14 carries and 16 touches. He completely outplayed Jamaal Williams with 86 rushing yards. Pro Football Focus ranks Jones eighth in run blocking among 61 qualified backs, which should keep him on the field. Plus, he’s better than Williams. Jones has a good chance to prove it again this week as Miami has allowed the fifth-most rushing yards per game and fifth-most fantasy points per game to backs. The Packers are heavy home favorites, and you can bet Jones will hang onto the ball if he’s leaned on to run the clock out.
Jordan Howard vs. DET ($6.5K)
I’m going to keep Jordan Howard here; he worked out for us last week. Howard has found the end zone in each of his past three games, with four total touchdowns over that span. All five of his touchdowns have come inside the red zone, and he ranks inside the top 10 in red zone rushing attempts. The Bears’ back has had at least 14 carries in six of his eight games and game script has been in his favor over the last two weeks (NYJ & BUF). This week should favor him as well because the Detroit Lions are allowing the second-most yards per carry (5.1) and third-most rushing yards per game (142).
Cash game RBs to consider: Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Alvin Kamara, David Johnson, Dion Lewis, Mike Davis (if no Chris Carson)
FanDuel DFS Wide Receiver Picks
Josh Gordon @ TEN ($6.7K)
Josh Gordon is coming off his best game of the season as he racked up 10 targets, five catches, 130 yards, and a touchdown. He tied a team-high in targets with Julian Edelman and will no doubt be part of the game plan again this week. Bill Belichick knows all too well why he benched and cut ties with Malcolm Butler. The Titans’ corner has allowed some big plays this season as five different wideouts have topped 100 yards against Tennessee.
Donte Moncrief @ IND ($5.5K)
Donte Moncrief leads Jacksonville with 56 targets, and 35 of them have come in his last four games. That’s 10 more than Keelan Cole and 15 more than Dede Westbrook over that time frame. Moncrief leads the Jaguars in air yards and has at least 76 yards in three of his past five games. The Colts have given up the 10th-most passing yards per game and eighth-most points per game. Blake Bortles has thrown for at least 300 yards against Indy in each of his last three games.
Calvin Ridley @ CLE ($6.6K)
I really like Julio Jones, especially if Denzel Ward is sidelined, but Calvin Ridley is a strong play as well. He has seven touchdowns on the season and at least 43 yards in six of his past seven games. The Browns have given up the fifth-most points per game this season, and this 51-point total is the fourth largest on the main slate.
Cash game WRs to consider: Julio Jones, Davante Adams, Michael Thomas, Robert Woods, Keenan Allen, Cooper Kupp, Tyler Boyd, Jarvis Landry, Larry Fitzgerald, Tyrell Williams, Maurice Harris (if no Jamison Crowder)
FanDuel DFS Tight End Picks
Jack Doyle vs. JAC ($5.6K)
Jack Doyle has 22 targets to Eric Ebron’s 11 in their three games together. Doyle returned in Week 8 and played 75 percent of the snaps compared to just 18 from Ebron. Doyle had six catches for 70 yards and a touchdown in that game. He has 15 catches and 150 yards this season.
Cash game TEs to consider: Travis Kelce, O.J. Howard, David Njoku
FanDuel Defense DFS Picks
Chicago Bears vs. DET ($5.0K)
I know it may be hard to pay up for the most expensive defense, but they are worth it. Also because of the price, they may be lowly owned. Chicago has a league-high 21 turnovers and has given up the second-fewest points per game. They rank second in picks, seventh in sacks and have recovered the third most fumbles. Matthew Stafford was sacked 10 times last week, and Detroit will be hard-pressed to run on this defense. The Bears have allowed only one rushing touchdown and rank inside the top five in yards allowed on the ground and yards per carry.
Cash game DSTs to consider: New York Jets, Buffalo Bills
