NHL DFS Centers
Aleksander Barkov @ NYR ($6.8 DK / $7.3 FD)
The New York Rangers have allowed the ninth-most shots and eighth-most goals per game. They are allowing 13.05 high-danger scoring chances against per 60 minutes, according to Natural Stat Trick. Then, the Florida Panthers’ 2.13 high-danger goals per game are the third most in the league. Aleksander Barkov has two goals and six points in six games, which includes four points over a current three-game point streak. He has 20 shots on goal and has played at least 20 minutes in each game.
Mika Zibanejad vs. FLA ($6.2 DK / $6.4 FD)
Mika Zibanejad has three goals and four points in his last four games. His 35 shots on goal are the sixth most on the season and second most at the center position tonight. The Florida Panthers’ 3.83 goals against per game rank fifth worst. Plus, they’ve allowed 15 goals in their last three games.
Chris Tierney vs. BOS ($4.8 DK / $4.6 FD)
As you’ll see below, the Boston Bruins are depleted on the back end, and, surprisingly, the Ottawa Senators rank second in goals per game (4.0). Chris Tierney has two goals and nine points in his seven games as a member of the Senators. He’s hit the scoresheet in every game this season. Tierney had a career-high 17 goals and 40 points last season, but he’s getting a career-high 17:53 per game in Ottawa, plus power play time. He has four PPP this season and had only seven last year with the San Jose Sharks.
Others to consider: Patrice Bergeron, Evgeni Malkin, Vincent Trocheck, Ryan Getzlaf, Max Domi
NHL DFS Wingers
Patrick Kane vs. ANH ($7.2 DK / $8.4 FD)
John Gibson has been really good this season, but his Anaheim Ducks have allowed a league-high 37.9 shots per game. They’ve allowed the fourth-most high-danger scoring chances per game (14:47) and a league-high 35.49 scoring chances against per game. Patrick Kane has seven goals, 12 points, and three power-play points in eight games. He’s leading the league with 43 shots. The Ducks allowed 45 shots on goal at home Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres rank 25th in shots per game, and the Blackhawks rank fourth, so Gibson should see a lot of rubber again.
Jonathan Drouin vs. CGY ($4.6 DK / $5.4 FD)
Jonathan Drouin is easy on the wallet, and he has a pretty good matchup. Drouin is playing his best hockey as a member of the Montreal Canadiens. All five of his points have come over a current four-game point streak. Drouin has two goals, four power-play points, and is averaging 19 minutes per game over that span. The opposing Calgary Flames have allowed the fourth-most scoring chances and the most-high danger scoring chances per 60 minutes.
Kailer Yamamoto vs. PIT ($4.6 DK / $3.4 FD)
Kailer Yamamoto is getting a shot to play on a line with Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, which should drive up his ownership. His price is too nice to ignore, though. Last year’s first-round pick played on the Edmonton Oilers’ top line Saturday and received the second-most (15:21) ice time this season.
Others to consider: David Pastrnak, Alex DeBrincat, Brad Marchand, Mark Stone, Cam Atkinson, Chris Kreider, Nick Bjugstad, Matts Zuccarello, Jake Guentzel
NHL DFS Defensemen
Seth Jones vs. ARI ($6.3 DK / $5.0 FD)
Seth Jones is set to make his season debut Tuesday against the Arizona Coyotes. Jones has been dealing with a knee injury that makes him a discount on FanDuel. Jones is coming off a season in which he had a career high in goals (16), assists (41), points (57), shots (249), and power-play points (24). The Blue Jackets’ defenseman also logged a career-high 24:36 per game. Jones finished top 10 among defensemen in goals, points, shots, and power-play points in 2017-18.
Matt Grzelcyk @ OTT ($4.3 DK / $3.7 FD)
The Boston Bruins will be without Charlie McAvoy, Kevan Miller, and Torey Krug, which leaves a huge opportunity for others to log some minutes. Matt Grzelzyk has points in back-to-back games and played 21 minutes his last time out. More importantly, Grzelzyk is getting time on the No. 1 power-play unit. He’s registered at least three minutes on the man advantage in four of his last five games, and at least four minutes in two of his last three.
Oscar Klefbom vs. PIT ($4.5 DK / $4.8 FD)
Oscar Klefbom has only two assists through six games this season, but he’s getting a lot of ice time with the Oilers. Klefbom played 30 minutes in his last game after playing 28 the game before. He’s totaled 8:07 of power play time over his last two games, which is a plus for his value.
Others to consider: Keith Yandle, Hampus Lindholm, Thomas Chabot, Mark Giordano, Drew Doughty, Mike Reilly, Henri Jokiharju
NHL DFS Goalies
Sergei Bobrovsky vs. ARI ($8.4 DK / $8.9 FD)
You’ll have to spend up for Sergei Bobrovsky, but it’s worth it in cash. The Coyotes are scoring a league-low 1.43 goals per game this season. They have only 10 goals in seven games despite averaging the third-most shots per game (36.3).
Others to consider: Matt Murray, Carey Price, Corey Crawford
