MLB DFS DraftKings.com & FanDuel.com Lineups & Picks for September 13, 2018
There are 13 games on the main MLB DFS slate for Thursday, 9/13/18. Below is a list of our best MLB DFS picks for pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Mike Trout can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by a weak team.
Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing for an MLB slate. If a game gets rained out, your player gets zero points!

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for September 13, 2018
Clayton Kershaw @ STL ($11.9k DraftKings, $11.5k FanDuel)
While the Cardinals have gotten to Clayton Kershaw in the postseason, he’s dominated with a 0.53 ERA, .075 BAA and 11.12 K/9 ratio over his last two regular season meetings with the Red Birds. His upside is diminished this year, but he’s still a superior Cash option with 10 straight Quality Starts and a 2.04 ERA since the ASB. The Dodgers (-187) are favored since they’ve been all over lefties lately. Plus, Cardinals southpaw Austin Gomber is posting some rough peripheral stats (26.3% LD Rate, 10.3% BB Rate) this season. Kershaw has a high floor with a projection of 22.4 DraftKings points on RotoQL tonight.
Eduardo Rodriguez @ TOR ($9.1k DraftKings, $8.6k FanDuel)
Boston (-280) is heavily favored at Toronto tonight, as the Red Sox offense should be all over vulnerable Blue Jays RHP Sam Gaviglio. Eduardo Rodriguez is 2-0 with a .191 BAA and 7.50 K/BB ratio over three starts against Toronto this year and was rolling with a 0.40 ERA and 11.15 K/9 ratio over four outings prior to running into the lefty-killing buzzsaw that is the Astros lineup. Toronto has the second-lowest batting average (.233) in the American League. Current Blue Jays are 27-for-127 (.213) with 32 Ks (25.2% K-Rate) in their careers against E-Rod.
Sandy Alcantara vs. NYM ($7.2k DraftKings, $6.9k FanDuel)
The Marlins have a promising young arm in Sandy Alcantara. He spun seven shutout innings with 6 Ks against the Phillies last Wednesday. With a full week of rest, the 6’4 RHP is capable of tossing another gem against a Mets team that ranks 29th in collective batting average (.236) on the season. Alcantara posted a .246 and 3.89 ERA over 19 starts in the offense-inflating Pacific Coast League, and his batted ball data has been awesome (9.7% LD Rate, 51.6% GB Rate) over two MLB appearances this year. He’s projected for a solid 16.6 DraftKings points on RotoQL, indicating his upside relative to that low price tag.
Other pitchers to consider: Steven Matz, Matt Shoemaker, Brett Anderson (GPP Play)
Best MLB DFS Hitters for September 13, 2018
Justin Turner @ STL ($4.9k DraftKings, $4.2k FanDuel)
If the Dodgers are going to get to Cards southpaw Austin Gomber tonight, Justin Turner will almost certainly play a part. He’s hitting .344 with a .431 wOBA and scorching the ball (32.1% LD Rate, 51.5% hard contact rate) when facing LHPs this year. Turner’s slashing .373/.468/.687 since the ASB and is coming off a 3-RBI performance against the Reds Wednesday afternoon. Gomber is keeping righties in the yard but also allowing a 37.7% hard contact rate. He’ll be hard pressed to slow a Dodgers team that leads the N.L. with a collective .338 wOBA over the last 30 days. Turner leads all Dodgers with a projection of 10.3 DraftKings points on RotoQL tonight.
Adalberto Mondesi vs. MIN ($4.5k DraftKings, $3.3k FanDuel)
The competition for worst SP on this slate is relatively deep, but Twins southpaw Stephen Gonsalves leads the pack. He’s only eliciting a 5.9% swinging strike rate and somehow has a 0.46 K/BB ratio to go along with a 38.5% line drive rate over four appearances, making through just 12.1 IP over four starts. The Royals pounded Gonsalves for 5 ER on 5 hits last Friday, and Adalberto Mondesi played a key role setting the table out of the 2-hole in that contest. The switch hitter has tallied 3 HRs and is 6-for-6 on SB attempts when facing lefties this year, flashing much of that upside with 2 HRs and 5 SB off Twins pitching.
Ramon Laureano @ BAL ($4.3k DraftKings, $3.0k FanDuel)
The Athletics depth is hard to rival, and they’ve unearthed another solid two-way player in Ramon Laureano. A true dual threat with 5 HRs and 4 SB over his first 32 MLB games, Laureano has done most of his damage with a .295 average and .950 OPS in RvR matchups. Orioles RHP Dylan Bundy has been pummeled to the tune of a 8.29 ERA and .315 BAA since the ASB, and the offense-friendly confines of Camden Yards will do him no favors. Laureano is actually projected for the most FanDuel points (15.5) of any hitter on RotoQL tonight.
Other hitters to consider: Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, Manny Machado, Whit Merrifield, Matt Chapman, Yasiel Puig, Matt Joyce, Mitch Moreland, Jorge Bonifacio
