MLB DFS & Lineups & Picks for September 10, 2018

There are 10 games on the main MLB DFS slate for Monday, 9/10/18. Below is a list of our best MLB DFS picks for pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a critical part of baseball. Even Mike Trout can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by an unexpected team.

Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing an MLB slate.

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for September 10, 2018

Jacob deGrom vs. MIA ($13.5 DK / $11.8 FD)

There’s no real reason to fade Jacob deGrom in Cash. You can avoid him in a couple tournament lineups because of the high price, but even playing him may be considered contrarian given the amount you have to spend on him. On DraftKings, you have to pay up, but on FanDuel you don’t. The Marlins rank last in wOBA and runs scored. The Mets’ ace leads baseball with a 1.68 ERA and has allowed five runs in his last six starts. He’s also had at least nine strikeouts in seven of his last nine outings.

Corey Kluber @ TB ($11.1 DK / $12.3 FD)

After watching Corey Kluber last week against the Rays, it’s hard not to roll him out again in Tampa Bay. Kluber allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out eight  in that outing. He’s now given up just four hits and one run with 18 strikeouts in his last two starts. He enters with his K/9 sitting at 8.84, but he has 37 punch-outs in his last 32.1 innings. Kluber makes for a solid pivot off deGrom on DK rather than spending up for him on FD.

Sean Newcomb @ SFG ($7.3 DK / $6.9 FD)

Sean Newcomb has had his fair share of trouble lately, especially with walks. It’s the reason he’s a bit cheaper than we are used to seeing. The upside and potential is there. We’ve seen it! He gets a Giants squad tonight that has the second-highest strikeout rate in the second half and the third-lowest walk rate. Nobody has struck out more than SF over the last 30 days. It’s also a plus this game is being played at pitcher friendly AT&T Park.

Others to consider: J.A. Happ, Jaime Barria

Best MLB DFS Hitters for September 10, 2018

Anthony Rendon @ PHI ($4.6 DK / $4.1 FD)

Anthony Rendon has been the ninth-best fantasy batter in the last 14 days. During that span, he’s led the Nationals with 19 hits (.345 AVG), three home runs, and he has nine RBI to go along with a .410 OBP. Jake Arrieta enters with the second-highest contact rate (83.2%) in the Majors, and it’s led to six home runs in his last three starts (16.1 IP). Arrieta has coughed up at least four runs in four of his last five trips to the hill.

Odubel Herrera vs. WAS ($4.1 DK / $2.3 FD)

Just like Arrieta, Erick Fedde enters with a high contact rate (80.1%), which has resulted in a 37.1% hard hit rate and 6.00 ERA. Fedde has surrendered 41 hits, 22 runs, and six homers in 33 innings. There will be some runs scored in this Washington-Philadelphia matchup, so you’ll have to spend to get a piece. If you’re playing on FanDuel, rostering Odubel Herrera will allow you to get more bats from this game.

Daniel Murphy vs. MIL ($3.9 DK /$3.7 FD)

Daniel Murphy has struggled against left-handed pitching this season, but he hit .291 against southpaws in 2017 and .329 in 2016. Murphy has four home runs and a .303 average in 15 games with the Cubs. He’s had seven multi-hit games over that span and only failed to reach base in three games. Wade Miley has actually been pretty impressive (two runs or fewer in 11 of his 12 starts) and comes in with a 2.12 ERA. Unfortunately, Miley has a high strand rate (80%), high walk rate (3.11 BB/9), low strikeout rate (6.22 K/9), and a much higher xFIP (4.23). You’d be silly to think there’s no regression coming for the Brewers’ lefty.

Salvador Perez vs. CWS ($4.3 DK / $2.8 FD)

I know, a catcher suggestion — boring! It’s a no brainer when you consider the price and matchup. Perez hit a three-run homer Friday to give three homers in his last six games. He’ll see pitches from Lucas Giolito, who has allowed four plus runs in 12 starts this season. Giolito reps a 5.85 ERA, 4.67 BB/9 and has given up 23 homers. The Royals have surprisingly been one of the better offensive teams of late.

Others to consider: Wilson Ramos, Carlos Santana, Luke Voit, Asdrubal Cabrera, Adalberto Mondesi, Adrian Beltre, David Fletcher, Andrelton Simmons, Whit Merrifield, Marcell Ozuna, Ryan Braun, Andrew McCutchen
