MLB DFS DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups & Picks for June 14, 2018

Baseball is rolling with a good slate of MLB DFS games scheduled for 6/14/18. The main slate on DraftKings includes four games starting at 7:05 p.m. EST, and FanDuel’s main slate also includes four games starting at the same time.

For today, we’re listing our top picks for MLB DFS pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. The info below can also be used for crafting your daily fantasy baseball strategy at FantasyDraft.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Jose Altuve can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by a weak team.

Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing for an MLB slate. If a game gets rained out, your player gets zero points!

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for June 14, 2018

David Price @ SEA ($8.6k DraftKings, $8.4k FanDuel)

While he has a reputation as an inconsistent SP, David Price has gone at least five innings and allowed 3 ER or fewer in five consecutive starts. He’s more of a GPP play on this short slate against a Mariners lineup that contains several dangerous RHBs. But he should get plenty of run support with washed-up RHP Felix Hernandez facing the elite Red Sox lineup. Current Mariners are a combined 20-for-94 (.213) with 24 Ks in their careers against Price. He has been better away from the scrutiny of Fenway Park with a 3.05 FIP and 9.52 K/9 ratio while holding batters to a .285 wOBA in road starts this season. He’s projected for 19.6 DK points tonight, according to models on RotoQL.

Domingo German vs. TB ($6.7k DraftKings, $7.0k FanDuel)

The Yankees rookie has pitched well thus far but is posting a relatively unlucky 0-4 record despite his 3.72 SIERA and 3.97 xFIP. Perhaps Domingo German gets his first win tonight as the Rays send talented, but overmatched, LHP Blake Snell into a matchup against a Yankees team that simply crushes lefties at home. Tampa is posting a 22.8% K-Rate on the road and German a 32.7% K-Rate at Yankee Stadium against righties this year. He has plus stuff with a 95.5 MPH fastball and a hard slider that should result in more Ks if he can hit his spots tonight.

Anibal Sanchez vs. SD ($5.5k DraftKings, $6.3k FanDuel)

After his promising start to the season was derailed by a hamstring strain, Anibal Sanchez seems to have regained his form. He’s held the dangerous Nationals and red-hot Dodgers to just 5 hits and 2 ER over his last two outings. He also struck out five in each contest. Now, he’ll host the weak Padres offense, which ranks 29th in collective wOBA (.287) with the third-highest K-Rate (25.8%) when facing RHPs this season. Sanchez is holding RHBs to an impressive 15.1% hard contact rate this year and is incredibly cheap on DK, essentially affording you the salary flexibility to afford whatever high-priced hitters you want.

Best MLB DFS Hitters for June 14, 2018

Paul Goldschmidt vs. NYM ($5.6k DraftKings, $4.5k FanDuel)

The D’Backs slugger is certainly worth a look in GPP formats against Mets LHP Steven Matz. Paul Goldschmidt has homered twice off the Mets southpaw and, despite his struggles, is hitting .343 off lefties this season and a scorching .477 with 5 HRs in June. He’s the premier upside play at 1B tonight with a healthy projection of 9.2 DK points on RotoQL. Goldschmidt could lead a surprising D’Backs stack, as they rank second in the National League with a collective .334 wOBA against LHPs.

Giancarlo Stanton vs. TB ($5.0k DraftKings, $4.2k FanDuel)

He’s struggled mightily throughout this first season in pinstripes, but Giancarlo Stanton has proven he’s still capable of mashing lefties. With a .486 wOBA, 61.4% hard contact rate and ridiculous 41.2% HR/FB ratio against the platoon, he’s a great boom-bust play to consider. Making contact off Rays southpaw Blake Snell tonight would likely result in the huge dividends of a homer at Yankee Stadium. Snell has been lights out at home but is giving up a 1.20 HR/9 ratio on the road. He was roughed up for 5 ER and 2 HR (including one by Stanton) in a trip to Yankee Stadium on April 4. Stanton is projected for 9.4 DK points on RotoQL tonight and could exceed that number if he helps the Yankees chase Snell early with a long ball or two.

Xander Bogaerts @ SEA ($4.6k DraftKings, $4.3k FanDuel)

While J.D. Martinez is grabbing the headlines, Xander Bogaerts continues to produce behind him. The latter has posted 11 hits and 4 walks over his last eight appearances. The hard-hitting shortstop is capable of leading his position tonight against veteran Felix Hernandez, who is coughing up a 40% hard contact rate when facing RHBs this season. Hernandez has seen a continuous decline in his fastball, and his slider ranks 4.76 runs below average this year, according to Brooks Baseball. Bogaerts rates 7.5 runs above average when facing fastballs and should be able to pounce on that sub 90-MPH pitch while laying off a weakening slider.

Ender Inciarte vs. SD ($3.6k DraftKings, $2.8k FanDuel)

Padres RHP Tyson Ross has been solid against righties this year, but almost unable to get lefties out. He’s allowing LHB to hit .303 with a 31.7% line drive rate, and he’s posting a 4.18 BB/9 ratio against the platoon. Ender Inciarte has moved down in the Braves lineup but is heating up again with 4 hits and 2 SB over his last three appearances. He’s a dual threat with the potential to run against Ross and battery-mate A.J. Ellis, who has allowed 15 SB in 22 attempts this season. Inciarte’s relative slump has led to a lower price tag, making him an appealing addition to a potential Braves stack tonight.

Positional Breakdown

Catcher on DraftKings

Gary Sanchez is the premier play and worth paying up for with 3 HRs over just 10 career at-bats against Blake Snell. For value, consider Arizona’s John Ryan Murphy against LHP Steven Matz.

1B

Freddie Freeman is another lefty capable of tagging Tyson Ross. He’s homered in three straight games. Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland has a wealth of experience against Felix Hernandez as a member of the Texas Rangers, and he’s been thriving as Boston’s cleanup man against righties of late.

2B

Ozzie Albies has been positively elite and would serve as the head of a Braves stack against Tyson Ross should you choose to go that route. Eduardo Nunez has struggled but is a worthy if he’s in the lineup against Hernandez tonight.

SS

Jean Segura is hitting .346 this year and .383 off lefties. He’s an intriguing GPP play to consider if targeting David Price with any Mariners bats. Asdrubal Cabrera is one of the few Mets bats worth deploying against Arizona RHP Matt Koch, who has been extremely vulnerable at home this year. Ketel Marte is a decent value for Arizona as a switch hitter capable of producing against Matz.

3B

This is a relatively weak position tonight, and the best plays are risky values, such as Rafael Devers. Felix Hernandez gives up a 16.3% HR/FB ratio when facing lefties this year, and Devers is finding his power stroke. Ryan Flaherty could serve as a cheap addition to a Braves stack as well with the potential to tag Tyson Ross.

OF

Of course, J.D. Martinez is worth paying up for if you can afford it, as he’s been the hottest hitter in baseball over the last month. Nick Markakis may be a safer play than Inciarte to use against Ross because he bats higher in the Braves lineup. Jon Jay has helped spark the D’Backs dormant offense and is a relative value with limited upside in a LvL matchup against Matz tonight.
