MLB DFS DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Lineups & Picks for May 29, 2018
We’ve got a great slate of MLB DFS games scheduled for Tuesday, 5/29/18. The main slate on DraftKings includes 14 games starting at 7:05 p.m. EST, and the FanDuel main slate also includes 14 starting at the same time.
For today, we’re listing our best MLB DFS pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. The info below can also be used for crafting your daily fantasy baseball strategy at FantasyDraft.
Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Mike Trout can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by a weak team.
Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing for an MLB slate. If a game gets rained out, your player gets zero points!

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for May 29, 2018
Kenta Maeda vs. PHI ($10.8k DraftKings, $9.3k FanDuel)
Seemingly out of nowhere, Kenta Maeda has become one of the top strikeout pitchers in baseball. He’s sporting an 11.72 K/9 ratio and a 14.4% swinging strike rate with 32 Ks over his last four outings. Tonight, he’ll face a Phillies team that is posting the sixth-highest K-Rate (25.2%) with the fourth-lowest collective batting average (.215) over the last 14 days. Maeda has flashed even more upside with a 12.96 K/9 ratio and a 2.88 ERA at home. Plus, he’s holding RHBs to a weak .194 average, which bodes well for his chances to limit Rhys Hoskins and company and explains his solid projection of 18.6 FPs according to models on RotoQL.
Rick Porcello vs. TOR ($10.1k DraftKings, $8.9k FanDuel)
The Rays got to Rick Porcello during his last outing, but the weak Blue Jays offense represents a much better matchup for the slender righty. He held Toronto to 3 ER on 3 hits with 9 Ks in a trip to Rogers Centre last month and should receive plenty of run support at home to avoid another hard-luck loss. Porcello has demonstrated incredible control at Fenway with an 11.0 K/BB ratio and a stellar 13.4% line drive rate so far this season. Toronto is posting the sixth-lowest collective batting average (.220) with the fourth-highest K-Rate (25.3%) in the Majors over the last 14 days. Also, they will likely be without Josh Donaldson (calf) for at least tonight’s game.
Dan Straily @ SD ($6.3k DraftKings, $7.0k FanDuel)
A solid Cash play with limited upside, Dan Straily looks to keep rolling at massive Petco Park against a Padres offense that’s perennially one of the worst in the Majors. San Diego is posting the highest K-Rate (26.8%) with the third-lowest wOBA (.282) when facing RHPs. The Marlins are not exactly lighting it up either, explaining the low, seven-run Over/Under assigned to this contest. Straily is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 8.0 K/9 ratio over his last three appearances, two of which came against the league-leading Braves offense. So you should expect another Quality Start from the steady veteran.
Other pitchers to consider: Charlie Morton, Blake Snell, Michael Wacha, Luis Castillo, Anibal Sanchez, Tyson Ross

Best MLB DFS Hitters for May 29, 2018
Anthony Rizzo @ PIT ($4.5k DraftKings, $3.8k FanDuel)
Anthony Rizzo extended his hitting streak to 10 games in style yesterday by launching a deep homer off Pirates RHP Chad Kuhl. He faces a relatively unknown RHP tonight in rookie Nick Kingham, who gave up 7 ER and 2 HR over his last two starts before getting sent back to the minors. Rizzo got off to a slow start this season but is now cooking with 8 walks, 3 doubles, a HR, and 13 total hits over his last 10 appearances. He’s projected for 9.1 FPs on RotoQL and is a strong candidate to lead the Cubs offense in a winnable matchup.
Josh Harrison vs. CHC ($3.6k DraftKings, $3.1k FanDuel)
The Pirates are second in the Majors with a collective .353 wOBA when facing lefties. They also have a few high-upside options to consider tonight against fading southpaw Jon Lester. The Cubs 34-year-old LHP is posting the highest line drive rate (23.9%) of his career with his highest SIERA (4.48) since 2007. Of course, Lester’s greatest weakness is in his ability to hold base runners, a deficiency that’s allowed fellow Pirates Starling Marte and Sean Rodriguez to swipe three bases apiece off him in their careers. Josh Harrison only has 1 SB so far this season but swiped 12 last year and has the ability to burn Lester with his legs or bat. He’s posting a .214 ISO mark and .335 wOBA when facing LHP this season.
Robbie Grossman @ KC ($2.9k DraftKings, $2.0k FanDuel)
Royals LHP Daniel Duffy is posting the second-highest ERA (6.14) among qualified SPs. He should be ripe to target despite coming through as a value play in his last outing against the struggling Rangers. Robbie Grossman could serve as a dirt-cheap value to use against Duffy considering he’s 6-for-13 with 2 doubles and a HR in his career against the southpaw. Grossman is a switch hitter with a career .273/.357/.749 slash line against lefties. He’s sporting an 11.8% BB Rate when facing LHP this year, while Duffy is walking 4.14 batters per nine innings.
Guillermo Heredia vs. TEX ($2.8k DraftKings, $2.3k FanDuel)
The Mariners roster has been ransacked by injuries, which could be a blessing in disguise with guys like Guillermo Heredia stepping up. He’s been more of a platoon specialist in the past, but Heredia is hitting .318 with a .420 wOBA in RvR matchups this year. Rangers RHP Austin Bibens-Dirkx is posting a notable 35% line drive rate with a 90.3% Z-Contact rate through two starts in 2018 and allowed RHBs to post a 16.7% HR/FB ratio with a 40.6% hard contact rate last year. Give Heredia a look as a relatively cheap addition to a Mariners stack against the Rangers unproven 33-year-old starter.
Other hitters to consider: Nolan Arenado, J.D. Martinez, Joey Votto, Jose Altuve, Eduardo Escobar, Kyle Seager, Willson Contreras, Alex Gordon, Andrew McCutchen, Jurickson Profar
