MLB DFS DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Lineups & Picks for May 10, 2018

We’ve got a great slate of MLB DFS games scheduled for Thursday, 5/10/18. The main slate on DraftKings includes 9 games starting at 7:05 p.m. EST, and the FanDuel main slate also includes 9 starting at the same time.

For today, we’re listing our best MLB DFS pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. The info below can also be used for crafting your daily fantasy baseball strategy at FantasyDraft.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Mike Trout can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by a weak team.

Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing for an MLB slate. If a game gets rained out, your player gets zero points!

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for May 10, 2018

Miles Mikolas @ SD ($10.2k DraftKings, $8.5k FanDuel)

The Cardinals continue to find overlooked pitchers and coach them into borderline stars. After a brief stint in Japan, Miles Mikolas signed a two-year deal with the Cardinals and he’s now off to a 4-0 start with a 3.33 SIERA and a stellar 15.5 K/BB ratio through six outings. While his batted ball data might indicate regression is coming at some point, it’s hard to bet against Mikolas at pitcher-friendly Petco Park against the lowly Padres offense. San Diego ranks 28th in collective batting average (.226) with the second-lowest wOBA (.289) and highest K-Rate (27.1%) in the Majors this season. While Mikolas doesn’t have tremendous upside due to his lack of strikeout numbers, he’s a good bet to meet his projection of 19.5 FPs tonight according to models on RotoQL.

Garrett Richards vs. MIN ($8.9k DraftKings, $8.8k FanDuel)

Aside from a rough outing against the white-hot Yankees lineup, Garrett Richards has been a revelation for the Angels this season. He’s always been talented, but injury-plagued, and so far this year Richards has looked spry with an 11.8 K/9 ratio and .209 BAA, featuring a new and improved slider to create more swings and misses. The Twins are missing their best power threat in Miguel Sano (hamstring) and are hitting a collective .239 with 21.5% K-Rate against RHP this season. Richards has a lot of upside relative to his modest price tag.

C.C. Sabathia vs. BOS ($7.0k DraftKings, $7.4k FanDuel)

The Yankees hefty lefty continues to find ways to get batters out at the age of 37. C.C. Sabathia is sporting the fourth-lowest ERA (1.39) amongst qualified starters this season and posting an impressive .211 BABIP thanks in part to a 15.3% line drive rate, his lowest mark since 2010. The Red Sox otherwise deadly lineup is hitting a collective .226 with the lowest wOBA (.284) against LHP amongst A.L. teams and Sabathia happens to be 6-1 with a 2.37 ERA and .230 BAA over his last 10 appearances against Boston.

Ian Kennedy @ BAL ($6.5k DraftKings, $7.8k FanDuel)

The stars certainly align for Ian Kennedy to find success tonight against arguably the worst offensive team in the American League in the Orioles, who happen to be sending arguably the worst SP in the A.L. to the mound in Chris Tillman. Baltimore is hitting a league-worst .225 with the second-highest K-Rate (25.5%) amongst A.L. teams and Tillman is sporting an unsightly 9.24 ERA over six starts. Kennedy’s 2.92 ERA is supported by a solid 3.56 FIP and his strikeout numbers (8.51 K/9 ratio) are the highest they’ve been in three seasons. He’s combined for 13 Ks and 2 ER allowed against the weak White Sox and Tigers offenses and could keep rolling in tonight’s plus matchup.

Other pitchers to consider: Mike Foltynewicz, Tyler Mahle, Tanner Roark

Best MLB DFS Hitters for May 10, 2018

Charlie Blackmon vs. MIL ($5.5k DraftKings, $5.0k FanDuel)

If you can’t afford him tonight, David Dahl ($4.6k, $3.0k) and Gerardo Parra ($3.6k, $3.0k) could serve as cheap alternatives, but Charlie Blackmon seems worth paying up for with a projection of 10.7 FPs on RotoQL. The dual threat lefty continues to flash upside with 3 HRs and 2 SB over his last 10 appearances and draws a fantastic matchup tonight at Coors Field. Brewers RHP Jhoulys Chacin simply can’t throw strikes with a 7.20 BB/9 ratio and 2.33 WHIP when facing lefties this year, and he’s been lit up when he finds the strike zone with a 92.3% Z-Contact rate and 40.6% hard contact rate.

Rhys Hoskins vs. SF ($11.2k DraftKings, $4.3k FanDuel) – Showdown/All Day

Always a rock solid Cash play, Rhys Hoskins seems even safer in Showdown contests on DK this afternoon given the matchup. Giants young southpaw Ty Blach is sporting a 4.44 xFIP with a 3.34 BB/9 ratio when facing RHB this season and Hoskins is hitting .296 with a .513 OBP thanks to a 28.2% BB rate when facing LHP. The second-year phenom is eighth amongst qualified batters with a .423 OBP this season and he’s added plenty of category juice with 5 HRs and 3 SB over 35 appearances. Hoskins posted a lofty 31.6% HR/FB ratio last season and does have a HR off Blach over a tiny sample size of three at-bats.

Howie Kendrick @ ARI ($3.8k DraftKings, $3.3k FanDuel)

The Nationals could serve as a great stack tonight and when that offense gets rolling, veteran infielder Howie Kendrick usually provides good DFS returns. He’s hitting .292 with a 27.2% line drive rate and the highest ISO mark (.185) of his career while filling in at 2B for Daniel Murphy (knee) early in the season. Kendrick should thrive against D’Backs RHP Kris Medlen, who has posted an 8.43 ERA and 7.60 BB/9 ratio over his last seven MLB appearances. Medlen has been more vulnerable in RvR matchups throughout his career and is more of a middle reliever at this stage in his career than a SP capable of quieting the elite Nats offense.

Alex Gordon @ BAL ($3.8k DraftKings, $3.1k FanDuel)

Targeting Orioles RHP Chris Tillman is almost a requirement the way he’s been lit up this season. With a 2.05 WHIP, 42.3% hard contact rate and 6.02 SIERA, Tillman has been a human pinata and he remains even more vulnerable against the platoon. He allowed lefties to hit .329 with a .429 wOBA last season and is posting a 2.53 HR/9 ratio with a 51.4% hard contact rate when facing LHB this season. Alex Gordon is an economical option to use against the righty since he’s rather hot with six multi-hit performances over his last 11 appearances and the cramped confines of Baltimore’s Camden Yards could benefit the quick-swinging lefty.

Justin Smoak vs. SEA ($3.5k DraftKings, $3.1k FanDuel)

The Blue Jays are really struggling offensively and were just no-hit by Mariners new ace James Paxton, but they catch a break tonight by facing struggling RHP Mike Leake. The 30-year-old is off to a rough start with a 6.28 ERA and 1.40 HR/9 ratio over seven outings and he’s been particularly vulnerable against the platoon. Leake allowed LHB to post a 16.1% HR/FB ratio last season and the switch-hitting Justin Smoak posted a .266 ISO mark with a 21.1% HR/FB ratio when facing righties in 2017. He hasn’t flashed much upside lately in part due to his team’s overall struggles, but Smoak has a decent floor and the potential to blow up in the right matchups.

Other hitters to consider: Mike Trout, Dexter Fowler, Robert Acuna Jr., Matt Adams, Travis Shaw, Buster Posey, Jorge Soler, Teoscar Hernandez, Justin Bour, Yangervis Solarte
