MLB DFS DraftKings.com & FanDuel.com Lineups & Picks for April 25, 2018
There are eight games on the main MLB DFS slate for Wednesday, 4/25/18. Below is a list of our top MLB DFS picks for pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. The info below can also be used for creating your daily fantasy baseball strategy at FantasyDraft.
Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Mike Trout can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by an unsuspecting team.
Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing an MLB slate.

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for April 25, 2018
Clayton Kershaw vs. MIA ($14 DK / $11.4 FD)
It’s still early, but something has to be said about the 23 hits Clayton Kershaw has allowed (14th most), four of which have been home runs. His 76.7 contact percentage is as high as it’s been over the last seven seasons, and his average fastball velocity is sitting at a career low 91.9 MPH. Again, it’s early, but it’s something to monitor for sure. That being said, it’s the Miami Marlins. Kershaw is the best arm going tonight by far. It’s easy to want to fade him in tournaments on DraftKings, but you can fit him in on FanDuel.
Jake Faria @ BAL ($6.3 DK / $5.9 FD)
The Orioles enter tonight with the second highest strikeout rate (27.1%) and an MLB-worst .215 average. Jake Faria showed fantastic strikeout numbers across two seasons in AAA (148 in 126.1 IP), and he’s carried over a decent 8.59 K/9 in 103.2 big league innings. Having a guy this cheap in such a good spot will allow you to pair him with Kershaw or others at the top.
Jake Arrieta vs. ARI ($8.5 DK / 8.8 FD)
Jake Arrieta struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings in his last outing, allowing only one hit against Detroit. He makes for a great tournament play because he’s going head to head against Zack Greinke, and it’ll likely make him less owned. Greinke certainly has strikeout potential as well, but he’s struggled with the long ball this season. Arizona’s strikeout rate is the fourth highest and their .229 average ranks 22nd. Only the Padres have struck out more than the Diamondbacks over the last two weeks.
Others to consider: Trevor Bauer, Jason Hammel (GPP)

Best MLB DFS Hitters for April 25, 2018
Joey Gallo vs. OAK ($4.1 DK / $3.9 FD)
Adrian Beltre (hamstring strain) likely joining Elvis Andrus and Rougned Odor on the DL leaves very little to choose from in Texas. It’s such a good matchup though, as Kendall Graveman has allowed a league-high seven home runs and has a very high 83.0 contact percentage. Joey Gallo is on his way to leading baseball in fly ball and hard hit percentage again this season. Take a look at Shin-Soo Choo as well.
Khris Davis @ TEX ($4.8 DK / $4.5 FD)
The Athletics’ .272 average and .353 wOBA rank second in the MLB. Khris Davis has six hits in his last three games, and this is a great spot for him to add on against Doug Fister, who has a career 84.7 contact rate. The Rangers pitcher has a 1.61 WHIP, second highest on the slate behind Kendall Graveman. Davis has six home runs and 21 RBIs on the season. Oakland makes for a very affordable stack on FanDuel.
Mike Moustakas vs. MIL ($4.2 DK / $4.0 FD)
Jhoulys Chacin has a rough 4.94 BB/9 rate and extremely high 84.8 contact percentage. Mike Moustakas’ 14-game hit streak ended last night, but it was only the fourth game this season in which he didn’t get a hit. “Moose” has reached base in 22 of 24 games and has six home runs after hitting a career high 38 last season.
Marcell Ozuna vs. NYM ($3.9 DK / $3.7 FD)
The Cardinals are definitely in play against Steven Matz, who hasn’t been able to get out of the fifth inning over his four starts. Matz has allowed five homers, 13 hits, 11 runs, and eight walks over 18.1 innings this year. He only lasted four in his first start this season, which came against St. Louis. Now, Marcell Ozuna hasn’t lived up to his potential, and he’s only hitting .176 against lefties this season, but he hit 37 home runs overall in 2017 and a rock solid .305 average against southpaws. It’s only a matter of time before he gets going. Ultimately, his struggles make him a better GPP play.
Others to consider: Cody Bellinger, Jose Martinez, Jed Lowrie, Whit Merrifield, Matt Chapman, Francisco Lindor, Paul Dejong, Jurickson Profar, Teoscar Hernandez, Chris Taylor, Yadier Molina, Salvador Perez
