MLB DFS DraftKings.com & FanDuel.com Lineups & Picks for April 14, 2018
Six games on the main MLB DFS slate for Saturday, 4/14/18. Below is a list of our top MLB DFS picks for pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. The info below can also be used for creating your daily fantasy baseball strategy at FantasyDraft.
Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Paul Goldschmidt can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by an unsuspecting team.
Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing for an MLB slate.

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for April 14, 2018
Jameson Taillon @ MIA ($12.0 DK / $9.2 FD)
Jameson Taillon is by far the highest priced pitcher on DraftKings in the featured contests, and he’s atop the FanDuel board as well. The matchup in Miami is fantastic as the Marlins’ .232 average ranks 19th and their 46 runs scored ranks 25th. Taillon is coming off a complete game shutout against the Reds where he allowed only one hit and struck out nine. He has 16 punch outs over 14.1 innings this season and makes for a strong cash play with such a small slate.
Rich Hill vs. ARI ($9.7 DK / $8.2 FD)
Don’t be surprised if Rich Hill’s ownership is higher than Taillon’s in tournaments due to the price difference. Hill has a higher ceiling due to his strikeout upside, but there is some risk given that it’s against the Diamondbacks. The D-backs have a higher strikeout rate and lower average against left-handed pitching compared to right-handed pitching. So there’s that. There’s also the fact that Hill had two nine strikeout games against Arizona last season.
Garrett Richards @ KC ($7.1 DK / $8.3 FD)
We’ve yet to see a solid outing from Garrett Richards this season making him a tournament play only. Richards has 19 strikeouts over 15 innings, but has issued 12 walks and has allowed three home runs. Good thing for Richards, the Royals are dead last in runs scored, they walk only seven percent of the time (27th), they only have four home runs on the season, and are only hitting .220 against RHP. Oh and the Angels have a league-high 12 wins.
Others to consider: Jakob Junis (GPP), Derek Holland (GPP)

Best MLB DFS hitters for April 14, 2018
Josh Bell @ MIA ($3.6 DK / $3.6 FD)
Josh Bell is one of the cheaper Pirates bats tonight, and this team should be on your radar as they are up against Trevor Richards. The rookie pitcher has allowed 14 hits, four walks and eight runs over 8.1 innings. Bell’s 14 hits rank third on his team and his 26 home runs last season are a big reason why he’s hitting cleanup in Pittsburg. The 79 runs scored by the Pirates are the most in the NL, and second overall behind the Angels.
Asdrubal Cabrera vs. MIL ($3.4 DK / $3.7 FD)
Chase Anderson’s four home runs allowed are tied for the third most in baseball and right now he’s not missing any bats. His 84 percent contact rate is the 11th highest and he has an awful 44% fly ball rate, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering he had a 43% mark last season. Asdrubal Cabrera leads the Mets with 17 hits and he’s tied for the team lead with three home runs. He enters tonight’s game with an 11-game hit streak (only game without a hit was Opening Day), and a six-game run streak.
Kyle Seager vs. OAK ($3.6 DK / $3.1 FD)
The two, four and five hitters in Seattle are extremely affordable in what is a good matchup against Kendall Graveman. The Athletics hurler has allowed a league-high five home runs and 20 hits. His 88.4 contact percentage is the third highest among pitchers and he only has a 5.39 K/9 over 425.0 career innings. Seager has hit 25 plus home runs in four straight season, and he has four extra base hits in his last five games, including two home runs.
Hunter Renfroe vs. SF ($4.8 DK / $2.7 FD)
DraftKings is all over the upside Hunter Renfroe presents against lefties, but he’s a steal on FanDuel. Among players with 130 plate appearances against LHP last season, Renfroe was sixth in wOBA (.439), and he was tied for sixth with 11 home runs. Derek Holland is only a GPP option because of the small slate, but he’s struggled his entire career with the long ball. Holland allowed 31 bombs last season and had a 40 percent fly ball rate. Both were top 20 marks among pitchers with 135 innings.
Khris Davis @ SEA ($4.4 DK / $3.6 FD)
Khris Davis is coming in red hot having hit homers in two straight games. There’s some upside in this Athletics lineup tonight with some of their big boys (Davis, Matt Chapman & Matt Olson), because Marco Gonzales has allowed a whopping 14 hits and seven runs in 8.2 innings.
Others to consider: Buster Posey, Albert Pujols, Ian Kinsler (4 hits, 1 HR, 2 SB in two games since returning), Robinson Cano, Travis Shaw, Matt Chapman, Jean Segura, Corey Seager, Gregory Polanco, Andrew McCutchen
