MLB DFS DraftKings.com & FanDuel.com Lineups & Picks for April 6, 2018

Only seven games on the main MLB DFS slate for Friday, 4/6/18. Below is a list of our top MLB DFS pitchers, hitters, and stacks to target in Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. The info below can also be used for creating your daily fantasy baseball strategy at FantasyDraft. *Dodgers @ Giants has been postponed.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. Remember that more than in other sports, variance is a huge part of baseball. Even Jose Altuve can go 0-for-4 on a given night, and Max Scherzer can get lit up by a weak team.

Weather can also play a huge role in MLB DFS on a nightly basis, and lineups are constantly shifting. So always, always check the starting lineups and weather reports when playing for an MLB slate.

Best MLB DFS Pitchers for April 6, 2018

*Dodgers @ Giants has been postponed.
Kenta Maeda @ SF ($11.2 DK / $9.0 FD)

It’s always tough for a pitcher to face a team for the second time in a week, but with so few games on the schedule, Kenta Maeda is definitely worth a strong look. Maeda allowed only five hits over five scoreless innings last week to the Giants, striking out 10 batters. The 29-year-old had a 9 K/9 over his first two seasons, but struggled with the long ball last year as his fly ball rate jumped from 35 percent to 40 from year one to year two. AT&T Park is a friendly environment for Maeda and the Dodgers should have their way with Derek Holland.

Luis Castillo @ PIT ($8.7 DK / $7.1 FD)

Two of Luis Castillo’s past four starts dating back to last season have come against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Castillo fanned 14 batters over 11 innings in those two outings, allowing only three runs on six hits. Pittsburgh’s offense has been red hot to start the season, and they haven’t struck out a ton, but Castillo had a 12.7 swinging strike percentage and 73.3 contact percentage last season. His SwSt% and Contact% were both top 15 marks among starting pitchers with 80 plus innings. Forget about his first start at home against Washington as this is a much better matchup in a much better environment.

CC Sabathia vs. BAL ($7.9 DK / $6.8 FD)

CC Sabathia isn’t a huge strikeout guy, but he has the potential to rack up a few K’s especially against the Baltimore Orioles who enter with a 28.7 strikeout percentage, which is the highest mark thus far. Their .199 average ranks 26th and they are 26th in runs scored. Sabathia is more of a tournament play, and a cash saver on FanDuel.

Others to consider: Lance McCullers, Kyle Hendricks

Best MLB DFS hitters for April 6, 2018

*Dodgers @ Giants has been postponed.

Corey Seager @ SF ($3.7 DK / $3.1 FD)

Corey Seager has been held hitless in three games so far this season, and he has zero extra base hits. His .192 average and matchup in San Franciso may shy people away, but Derek Holland is more than enough reason to roll him out. Holland has a career 81.8 contact percentage, and his 82.7 mark ranked 12th worst among SP’s with 130 innings. Even with so few innings last season, Holland allowed 31 home runs (15th most). Playing in SF should help his HR totals, but the Dodgers remain a strong stack. Seager had a respectable .325 average and eight homers against LHP last season.

Jonathan Schoop @ NYY ($3.6 DK / $3.4 FD)

Jonathan Schoop is one of the better values on DraftKings tonight in a prime matchup against lefty CC Sabathia. As highlighted, with so few arms on the schedule, CC is not a bad play, but Schoop is certainly worthy of a few plays himself in lineups without Sabathia. The Orioles’ second baseman had a .397 wOBA with 10 home runs and 12 doubles off LHP last season. He has eight hits in his last four games (two three hit games), including four extra base hits.

Adrian Beltre vs. TOR ($3.1 DK / $2.6 FD)

Yes, Adrian Beltre is getting older and has zero homers this season, but he’s too good of a hitter to be this cheap. Beltre has reached base in six of his eight games, and has three doubles. Marco Estrada’s 31 home runs allowed last season were tied for the 10th most and he’s given up 78 over the last three seasons which ranks as the 13th most. He also led baseball with a 50.4 FB percentage in 2017.

Kole Calhoun vs. OAK ($3.4 DK / $2.7 FD)

Daniel Gossett faced the Angels last week and only last four innings as he allowed four runs on six hits, issued two walks and struck out zero batters. Gossett allowed 21 home runs over 91 innings as a rookie last season, and had a 80 contact percentage. The Angels rank fourth in home runs, eighth in average and third in runs. Mike Trout, Zack Cozart and Justin Upton are strong plays, but take a look at Kole Calhoun. The Angels’ right fielder has struggled at the dish, but his fifth place spot in the lineup is intriguing.

Kendrys Morales @ TEX ($2.9 DK / $2.4 FD)

Kendrys Morales enters tonight’s game with only two hits on the season, but with Matt Moore scheduled to take the hill for the Texas Rangers, he should be able to improve on his numbers. Morales’ .362 average last season against lefties was the fifth best among qualified batters, and his .420 wOBA ranked 13th. Moore allowed four runs on seven hits over four innings in his first outing, and this is really tough matchup for him as Morales, Josh Donaldson and Justin Smoak all crush lefties. Moore has allowed 52 home runs over the last two seasons and his 81.7 contact percentage last year ranked 11th worse among qualified starters.

Others to consider: Zack Cozart, Didi Gregorius, Josh Donaldson, Khris Davis, Kevin Pillar, Marwin Gonzalez, Brett Gardner, Ben Zobrist
