Injuries play a huge role in NBA DFS on a nightly basis, and value plays at the various daily fantasy sites can arise at a moment’s notice. This time of the season, even more than usual. We post this article first thing in the morning, without the initial reports from shootaround, or reports from beat writers. So always, always check the starting lineups and injury news right before tipoff.

Best NBA DFS Picks for March 7, 2018

DeMar DeRozan @ DET ($7.5k DraftKings, $8.0k FanDuel)
With Avery Bradley no longer in a Pistons uniform, DeMar DeRozan should improve on the lackluster numbers he posted in two previous meetings with Detroit. DeRozan’s been quiet lately because the Raptors haven’t really been challenged in many games. But Detroit is playing well with Blake Griffin integrating nicely and will be motivated to bounce back from a bad loss to Cleveland. DeRozan averaged 23 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 4.8 APG over four meetings with the Pistons last season. Detroit is giving up the most APG (6.64) to opposing SGs over the last month.

Eric Bledsoe vs. HOU ($7.5k DraftKings, $7.5k FanDuel)
The Rockets are one of the best teams in the NBA but just went through a war in Oklahoma City last night and could have tired legs. That’s especially true for veteran Chris Paul, who owned Eric Bledsoe back when they were teammates on the Clippers. Yet he relented last season as EB torched the Clips to the tune of 25 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 7.3 APG over three meetings. Bledsoe actually attempted more FGs (22) and provided more points (26) than Giannis Antetokounmpo in a narrow loss to Indy on Monday. He’s cooked with averages of 19.7 PPG and 5.8 APG since the start of February.

Isaiah Thomas vs. ORL ($6.0k DraftKings, $6.8k FanDuel)
There are multiple great options to consider in this game. Most are on the Lakers’ side of the ball. Coming off a great performance in Portland in which they nearly stopped the Blazers seven-game winning streak, the young Lakers now host a Magic team that ranks 27th in defensive rating and gives up the second-most FPPG (49.43) to opposing PGs this season. Isaiah Thomas is still in an affordable price range because he’s been struggling with his shot. But the fact that he went 5-for-21 from the floor and 1-for-9 from three on Monday and Luke Walton still kept him in down the stretch says something. He’s rocking a 30.6 percent usage rate and 31.8 percent assist rate over eight appearances with the Lakers and is bound to get hot at some point in the right matchups.

Others to Consider: James Harden, Jrue Holiday, Kris Dunn, Rajon Rondo, Gary Harris, De’Aaron Fox, Donovan Mitchell, D.J. Augustin, Kyle Lowry

Anthony Davis @ SAC (11.3k DraftKings, $13.0k FanDuel)
There’s serious risk of a blowout win for New Orleans on the road tonight, but Anthony Davis needs to be discussed as a play or fade every single time he suits up. Sacramento gives up the second-most FPPG (54.37) and RPG (16.68) to opposing centers this year. Plus, Willie Cauley-Stein (back) is out, and Skal Labissiere (knee) is questionable tonight. But the Kings’ slow pace of play and presence of a decent defender in Kosta Koufos might make Davis worth fading in Cash games and fading altogether at that ridiculous price tag on FanDuel. He also suffered an apparent hip injury last night. If he misses time, Jrue Holiday, Nikola Mirotic, and Rajon Rondo will seriously benefit DFS-wise.

Aaron Gordon @ LAL ($7.6k DraftKings, $7.6k FanDuel)
He’s doing it all for Orlando right now, including playing some PG. Aaron Gordon is an excellent option in the upper-tier range if you can’t afford Davis or LeBron tonight. The Lakers are second in the league in pace of play and cough up the fourth-most FPPG (48.71) to opposing PFs this season. Gordon is a California native who should relish the chance to compete at Staples Center and improve on his lackluster splits against the Lakers.

JaMychal Green @ CHI ($6.8k DraftKings, $6.7k FanDuel)
The Grizzlies are becoming one of the most blatant offenders in the race to the bottom as the season winds down. Still, they can’t be blamed for the laundry list of injuries forcing them to go deep into the organization to find plays. Andrew Harrison (wrist), Tyreke Evans (ribs), and Mario Chalmers (rest) are all out. At forward, Jarell Martin (knee) could miss a second consecutive game, and Marc Gasol is slowing down. This all leaves JaMychal Green as the de facto top option. He’s been providing versatile production with 12 assists to go along with 26 points and 37 rebounds over his last two appearances and is a quality mid-tier option to deploy against a Bulls team that’s also tanking.

Kyle Kuzma vs. ORL ($6.1k DraftKings, $6.1k FanDuel)
We mentioned there are multiple Lakers worth targeting tonight. Like Isaiah Thomas, Kyle Kuzma lands in an exploitable price range. He fell out of favor after a torrid start to his rookie year but has since rejoined the starting lineup with Brandon Ingram (hip) on the shelf. Kuzma’s averaging 11.7 PPG and 6.5 RPG over six appearances since the ASB and will be needed to contend with Aaron Gordon tonight. As his confidence grows, “Kuz Control” will only get hotter from the field. He’s at his best when firing away without a second thought.

Others to Consider: LeBron James, Blake Griffin, Bobby Portis, Bojan Bogdanovic, Reggie Bullock, Wilson Chandler, Dillon Brooks

Rudy Gobert @ IND ($8.4k DraftKings, N/A FanDuel)
Indiana is fighting desperately for a playoff spot, and Utah has won 8 of 10. Still, they’re outside of the playoffs in the WCF if the postseason started today. Therefore, we should see a competitive game tonight with the Jazz starters getting a full slate of run. Rudy Gobert is averaging 20.6 PPG and 14.8 RPG over his last four appearances and draws a juicy matchup tonight against the Pacers. Indiana gives up the third-most PPG (23.44) and fifth-most FPPG (53.85) to opposing centers this year. Myles Turner is nearing full health for Indy, but is still under sized as a true center. Gobert has the wingspan to dominate him in the paint.

Larry Nance Jr. @ DEN ($6.3k DraftKings, $7.5k FanDuel)
Technically a PF, Larry Nance Jr. is going to be forced to play heavy minutes at center with Tristan Thompson (ankle) out over the next couple weeks. He produced 22 points and 15 rebounds over 32 minutes in a tough matchup against Andre Drummond and the Pistons on Monday. Now, he faces a Denver team giving up the second-most PPG (117.11) while playing at the ninth-fastest pace in the NBA over the last month. Nance is averaging 17.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 3.8 steals/blocks per 36 minutes with the Cavs.

Others to Consider: Nikola Jokic, Julius Randle, Clint Capela
