Injuries play a huge role in the NBA on a nightly basis, and value plays can arise at a moment’s notice. Always, always check the starting lineups and injury news right before tipoff.

Best NBA DFS Picks for January 6, 2018

Guards

Kris Dunn vs. IND (DraftKings 7.1k, FanDuel 7.7k)
Kris Dunn has found new life in Chicago, and he’s been punishing opponents. He dropped 32 last night against the Dallas Mavericks, and NBA DFS players should ride Dunn’s hot hand. The Providence product does everything for the Bulls, so he could fill the stat sheet nicely tonight. He’s averaging 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a game for Chicago. As for tonight, the Pacers are banged up in the guard position, so Dunn could be feasting on some backup guards.

Gerald Green @ DET (5.1k DraftKings, 5.7k FanDuel)
James Harden is out with an injury, but the Houston Rockets may have found a gem in Gerald Green. He’s scored over 25 points and hit a combined 15 3-pointers in the last two games. He clearly has the green light from Mike D’Antoni and is a strong GPP play at this price. Since joining the Rockets, Green has shot over seven trey balls a game while averaging four makes a contest. The Rockets are averaging 115.2 points a game while Detroit will be on the second night of a back-to-back.

De’Aaron Fox vs. DEN (4.5k DraftKings, 4.8k FanDuel)
De’Aaron Fox was stellar in his return from injury. He played 33 minutes and scored 17 points while dishing out four assists. The Kentucky product is a solid pick for tonight because this game could be very up and down, which fits perfectly with the Fox’s game. He’s also had success against the Nuggets, who are on the second leg of a back-to-back.

Others to consider: Eric Gordon, Elfrid Payton, Bradley Beal

Forwards

Lance Stephenson vs. CHI (5.8k DraftKings, 6k FanDuel)
Lance “Born Ready” Stephenson is a threat every night, and this could be a high-scoring game between the Bulls and Pacers. Indiana scores over 107 points per game, and Stephenson is a big part of that. He’s scored over 15 points in three out of the last four games. He’s averaging 10.7 points and five rebounds against the Bulls this year. Stephenson could be a steal tonight because Victor Oladipo is banged up, and would be a near lock if Oliadipo is forced to sit.

Tobias Harris vs. HOU (6.1k DraftKings, 6.3k FanDuel)
The Detroit Pistons have been up and down all year, but Tobias Harris has been their most consistent player. He’s an awesome pick because any game involving the Houston Rockets will be high scoring. Harris has scored in double figures in eight straight games, recording eight steals over that stretch. The 25-year-old has improved his 3-point shooting, hitting 2.6 three balls a game and is shooting 43.6 percent from the land beyond. He’s more of a cash game play with a solid floor, but really needs to increase his peripherals to hit a GPP ceiling.

Others to consider: Andrew Wiggins, Boogie Cousins, LeBron James, Wilson Chandler, Mason Plumlee, Aaron Gordon

Centers

Clint Capela @ DET (6.6k DraftKings, 7.4k FanDuel)
Do you like lobs, double-doubles, and a high field goal percentage? If you do, Clint Capela is your must-have center for Saturday night. He’s collected 18 double-doubles this season and should thrive against the Pistons, who will be on the second night of a back-to-back. Capela is shooting 68 percent from the field, and most of his points come from offensive rebounds or lobs from Houston’s dynamic guards. The 23-year-old is also averaging just under two blocks a contest.

Karl-Anthony Towns @ NOP (8.8k DraftKings, 9k FanDuel)
Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the next great big men in the NBA. The seven-footer has recorded 31 double-doubles this season in 39 games. The Kentucky product had a massive game last night, going for 25 points and 23 rebounds against Boston Celtics. Towns will have to play a lot tonight against the big men of the Pelicans, so the minutes will be there. Towns is making just over one 3 pointer per game while shooting 39 percent from behind the arc.

Others to consider: Anthony Davis, Domantas Sabonis, Kevin Love, Willie Cauley-Stein
