Best NHL DFS Picks for January 4, 2018
NHL DFS Centers
Ryan Johansen @ ARI (5.3k DraftKings, 5.6k FanDuel)
Ryan Johansen is a great pick tonight because has done most of his scoring when the Nashville Predators are on the road. Johansen has accumulated fantasy points in seven of the last eight games. Tonight’s opponent, Arizona, gives up the second most goals per contest at 3.54 per game. The 25-year-old has collected three goals and five assists in 14 career games against the Coyotes.
David Krejci vs. FLA (4.4k DraftKings, 5.6k FanDuel)
Five of David Krejci’s six goals have come at the TD Garden, and he should be able to collect some points against the Panthers tonight. Florida gives up 3.18 goals per contest, and Krejci has collected 10 goals and 20 helpers in 38 career games against the Panthers. He would be great in a Cash game tonight, as he’s collected four points in the last four games while firing 12 shots on net.
Sean Couturier vs. NYI (6.3k DraftKings, 6.6k FanDuel)
Sometimes there are teams players just love facing. Sean Couturier has found success against the Islanders this year. In two games against them, he’s potted one goal and dished out two assists. Couturier is just under a point a game, and the Islanders give up the most goals per game in the league at 3.58 a contest. In front of the Philly faithful, the 25-year-old has potted 12 of his 18 goals. He’s great in any format tonight.
Others to consider: Erik Haula, Mathew Barzal, Jonathan Drouin

NHL DFS Wingers
Kyle Okposo @ MIN (4.1k DraftKings, 5.7k FanDuel)
If you’re all about riding the hot hand, Kyle Okposo is a great DFS pick for tonight. He’s on a three-game point streak and had two assists last game. Okposo dished out an assist last time the Wild and Sabres squared off. He’s tallied one goal and five assists on the power play this season. The American winger would be a great selection for a Cash game tonight because he’s fired at least three shots on net in the last five games and has four points in those games.
Patrick Marleau vs. SJ (4.5k DraftKings, 5.8k FanDuel)
Patrick Marleau will be going up against his former squad, and he’s been on a roll recently. He’s scored three goals in the last four contests while dishing out one assist. He’s a great value pick for tonight and is averaging just under two shots a contest. Marleau’s been a point-a-game type player in the last six contests, and he’s tallied four power play points.
Rickard Rakell @ EDM (6.8k DraftKings, 6.8k FanDuel)
The Edmonton Oilers give up 3.25 goals a contest, and Rickard Rakell is a must-have in your lineup for GPP or Cash games. Rakell is averaging just under two points in a game in the last five contests while potting six goals in his last five. He also leads the team with 15 goals and 16 assists. The Swede has accumulated three goals and nine assists in 17 career games against the Oilers.

NHL DFS Defensemen
T.J. Brodie vs. LAK (3.5k DraftKings, 4k FanDuel)
The Flames have a ton of mobile defencemen, and T.J. Brodie can straight up produce points. He’s recorded two goals and 16 assists this season. He’s a great GPP pick because his salary is very cheap, and he’s scored both of his goals at the Saddledome this year. Brodie is on the second power play unit and has been a great quarterback for them. He’s collected one goal and eight assists on the PP. Brodie recorded an assist the last time the Flames played the Kings.
Will Butcher @ DAL (3.5k DraftKings, 4.1k FanDuel)
Will Butcher has been fantastic for the New Jersey Devils this season. He’s been dominant on the power play, tossing out 14 helpers there. He’s averaging just under one block a game while collecting just over one shot a game. Butcher’s potted his only two goals on the road this season. The rookie is a great value pick and would be a great Cash option because of the power play time he gets.
Seth Jones @ COL (5.7k DraftKings, 5.6k FanDuel)
Seth Jones has become the leader of the Bluejackets’ D-core. He’s a must-have tonight in your DFS lineup. He’s collected points in four out of the last five games and has 24 total this year. Jones has recorded 13 of his 24 points on the road this year.
Others to consider: Torey Krug, Erik Johnson, Cam Fowler
NHL DFS Goalies
Tuukka Rask vs. FLA (8.4k DraftKings, 8.9k FanDuel)
Tuukka Rask is the pick of the night tonight for goalies, especially at DraftKings. He’s won his last five games and has posted a .973 save percentage and one shutout. Rask has dominated the Panthers in his career. The Finnish goaltender is 20-3-1 with a 1.48 goals against average all-time against Florida in his 10-year career. Rask has made at least 25 saves in his last five contests.
John Gibson @ EDM (7.5k DraftKings, 7.9k FanDuel)
John Gibson could be a sneaky pick for your Lineup. Gibson’s won three of his last four starts, and one of those victories was a shutout. He’s posted a 2.70 goals against average with a .922 save percentage. He’s won five games on the road, and the Ducks are allowing just 2.71 goals against this year.
Others to consider: Alex Stalock, Matt Murray, Ben Bishop, Devan Dubnyk
