Best NHL DFS Picks for January 2, 2018

NHL DFS Centers

William Karlsson vs. NSH (5.8k DraftKings, 5.6k FanDuel)
William Karlsson was just named the second star of the week after tallying a hat trick last game against the Maple Leafs. Karlsson’s recorded 20 goals this year, and 12 of them have been in front of Vegas faithful. The Swede has been dominant on special teams, potting three goals on the PP and two when Vegas is shorthanded. He’s been on fire and is a must-have in your DFS lineup. Ride the hot hand.

Eric Staal vs. FLA (6.3k DraftKings, 6.5k FanDuel)
The Minnesota Wild and Eric Staal square off well with the Panthers. The Panthers are allowing 3.13 goals a contest, and Staal leads the Wild with 15 goals. He’s sniped three with the man advantage. Staal’s also produced two shorthanded goals and one assist this season.

Yanni Gourde vs. TOR (4k DraftKings, 4.1k FanDuel)
The Lightning facing the Maple Leafs is probably the matchup of the night, and Yanni Gourde could be a great lineup addition. He’s a third-line center, but he’s contributed 11 goals and 14 assists this season. The 26-year-old has produced one goal, one assist, and nine shots in the last five games. Further, Gourde’s collected three goals on the power play and tallied one shorthanded goal and one helper this season. Tampa Bay is also leading the league in goals per game at 3.74.

Others to consider: Viktor Rask, Patrick Marleau, Sam Gagner

NHL DFS Wingers

Josh Bailey vs. BOS (6.9k DraftKings, 7k FanDuel)
Expensive adds can hurt your wallet, but Josh Bailey is worth it on this slate. Bailey leads the Islanders’ talented roster with 50 points (12 goals, 38 assists). The 28-year-old is a great pick for tonight; he’s on an 11-game point streak and has seven goals in that span. He’s been an incredible quarterback on the power play, tallying 18 helpers when the Islanders have the man advantage.

Wayne Simmonds @ PIT (5.2k DraftKings, 5.3k FanDuel)
The Flyers are back on track, and Wayne Simmonds has been a big part of the turnaround. He’s potted 12 goals and dished out 11 helpers on the year. Simmonds scored and assisted on a goal last game. Plus, the Flyers’ winger has produced six goals and four assists on the PP. He’s also been great in the clutch, tallying four game-winning goals this year.

Josh Anderson @ DAL  (5.8k DraftKings, 5.2k FanDuel)
Josh Anderson gets the chance to play on the first line, and he’s tallied one goal and two assists in the last two contests. He’s also recorded three game-winning goals this season and dished out two helpers on the power play this season. Anderson has potted seven of his 14 goals on the road this year. Tonight, he’ll be a cheap addition to your DFS squad. Don’t hesitate to take a flyer on him.

Others to consider: Jakob Silfverberg, Dustin Brown, James Neal

NHL DFS Defensemen

John Klingberg vs. CBJ (5.4k DraftKings, 5.5k FanDuel)
It’s not often you can add a defenseman who can produce points like a forward. John Klingberg is that kind of D-Man. He’s collected six points in the last five games and has 34 points total this year. Klingberg’s tallied one goal and 12 helpers on the power play this year. He’s on a two-game point streak and had a goal and an assist last game.

Morgan Rielly vs. TBL (5.2k DraftKings, 5.5k FanDuel)
Morgan Rielly is on a four-game point streak and has six assists in those contests. Rielly has recorded 90 shots, 19 hits, and 39 blocked shots thus far. Rielly has dished out 10 assists on the power play while registering one goal in that context. Rielly has potted two goals and distributed 10 helpers with his Leafs at the Air Canada Centre.

Mikhail Sergachev @ TOR (4.9k DraftKings, 4.4k FanDuel)
Lightning fans are probably very happy with the results of the Mikhail Sergachev-Jonathan Drouin trade. Sergachev has produced eight goals and 17 assists this season. He dished out two assists last game and has fired 11 shots on net in the last five games. The Russian D-man has two goals and eight assists on the power play.

Others to consider: Cam Fowler, Jacob Trouba, Nick Leddy

NHL DFS Goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury vs. NSH (7.8k DraftKings, 7.9k FanDuel)
The “Vegas Flu” damages teams when they come to Vegas to take on the Knights. The Knights are 16-2-1 at the T-Mobile Arena, and Marc-Andre Fleury is 4-1-1 in front of the Vegas faithful. He’s posted a 2.30 goals against average at home and 1.96 overall. He’s won his last four games and recorded his first shutout of the year when they squared off with the Washington Capitals.

Ben Bishop vs CBJ (7.3k DraftKings, 8.3k FanDuel)
Ben Bishop is facing a backup goalie and has a great chance to pick up a big win for your DFS teams. Bishop picked up a shutout last game and is 4-1-0 in his last five. He hasn’t let in more than three goals in that time. He’s collected four shutouts this year, and his record is 17-10-2 with a 2.55 goals against average.  Bishop’s posted a 0.946 GAA in the last five contests.

Others to consider: Jonathan Quick, John Gibson, Carey Price, Devan Dubnyk
