Best NHL DFS Picks for December 31, 2017

NHL DFS Centers

Sean Monahan vs. CHI (6.1k DraftKings, 7.3k FanDuel)
Sean Monahan’s salary has dipped a bit due to his recent struggles so he could be the perfect pickup for this New Years Eve matchup. Monahan leads the Calgary Flames with 17 goals and he’s sniped seven of them on the powerplay. He’s dished out two assists and has fired nine shots on net in the last five games. Monahan’s potted six game-winning goals.

J.T Compher vs. NYI (3.9k DraftKings, 3.8k FanDuel)
One shot. That’s all that J.T. Compher needed to tally a goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs last game. He’s collected three points in the last five contests. Compher’s been great on special teams, recording three powerplay goals and two shorthanded snipes. Four of his seven goals have come in the month of December.  He is a very cheap addition for your lineup as well.

Joe Thornton @ DAL (4.9k DraftKings, 4.9k FanDuel)
Jumbo Joe leads the San Jose Sharks in points with seven goals and 19 assists. He’s recorded five goals and nine helpers when the Sharks had the man advantage. Joe Thornton’s collected four points in the last three games. Three of his seven goals have come away from the Shark Tank. Thornton is on the first line and is on the first powerplay unit.

Others to consider: Blake Wheeler, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Frans Nielsen

NHL DFS Wingers

Milan Lucic vs. WIN (5.2k DraftKings, 6.3k FanDuel)
Milan Lucic gets the garbage goals and he’s a great bargain addition to your DFS squad. He’s produced three goals and three assists on the powerplay this season. He’s tallied one goal, one helper and fourteen shots in the last four games. The Jets have some injury problems, so Lucic should be able to take advantage. Lucic has tallied five goals in the month of December.

Gustav Nyquist vs. PIT (4.6k DraftKings, 4.6k FanDuel)
The Pittsburgh Penguins seem to have a revolving door in the crease and Gustav Nyquist should be able to take advantage. The Red Wings winger is on the first line and he’s potted 10 goals this season. He’s tallied two goals and one assist in the last five games. Nyquist will be a cheap add and always as the potential to explode for a big game. New Years Eve could be the night for #14.

Devin Shore vs. SAJ (3.6k DraftKings, 3.6k FanDuel)
Anytime you play with Jaime Benn and Tyler Seguin you always have the potential to put up points. Shore is on the first line and will see some time on the powerplay. He has a very affordable salary which will allow you to start a star center or goalie. The Ontario native has potted two of his three goals at home this season.

Others to consider: Gabriel Landeskog, Brandon Saad, Jordan Eberle
