As with any DFS, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, gameflow, and more factors. This is important when constructing a roster on any of the daily fantasy sites.
By this time in the season, weather plays a key factor in NFL games. Make sure to check the forecast for each Sunday.
Best Week 17 NFL DFS Quarterbacks on FanDuel
Tom Brady vs. NYJ ($8.5k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
While his production has been somewhat inconsistent over the past few weeks, Tom Brady is still capable of carving up a weak pass defense when the game plan calls for it. The Jets are still solid against interior rushes and remain vulnerable at the back end. They’ve given up the fourth-most TD passes (28) this year. Brady’s thrown seven TDs with one interception over his last three appearances against Gang Green. What’s more, Brady has posted a 109 passer rating with 16 TDs and two picks over seven home games this year.
Philip Rivers vs. OAK ($8.3k FanDuel) – GPP
The Chargers are in a desperate position. They need to win and get help to make the playoffs, so that all but guarantees a full-throttle effort from Philip Rivers and company. He’s been held in check in matchups against the Chiefs and Jets over the past two weeks but will now face a Raiders team that ranks dead last in passing DVOA.
Matthew Stafford vs. GB ($7.8k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
The Lions remain one of the most pass-heavy offenses in the NFL this year and should have no illusions about trying to run up the middle against elite NT Mike Daniels. Green Bay ranks 23rd in passing DVOA and allowed Stafford to throw for 361 yards and two TDs in a meeting earlier this season. He’s averaging 277.7 passing YPG with 14 TDs and three picks at home this season, where the offenses will benefit from a dome shielding them from the brutal cold.
Kirk Cousins @ NYG ($7.6k FanDuel) – GPP
Kirk Cousins is inexplicably cheap ahead of this plus matchup and deserves to be considered in all formats. That said, the slightly shaky proposition of taking a team with nothing to play for in Week 17 makes him more of a tournament play. He should carve up a Giants secondary that’s been a disaster since top CB Janoris Jenkins (ankle) was lost for the season. The G-Men have coughed up the most passing TDs (32) in the NFL this year.
Others to consider: Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, Jared Goff, Jimmy Garoppolo, Jameis Winston
Best Week 17 NFL DFS Running Backs on FanDuel
Ezekiel Elliott @ PHI ($8.7k FanDuel) – GPP
While Ezekiel Elliott struggled along with the rest of the Cowboys’ offense in a must-win situation against Seattle last Sunday, he could bounce back in a grudge match against the rival Eagles. Philadelphia has nothing to play for with the top seed in the NFC locked up, which may allow Zeke to operate against backup defenders on his way to a big line. Give him a look in tournament formats.
Mark Ingram @ TB ($8.4k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
Alvin Kamara returned last week and produced alongside Mark Ingram, but the power back produced a superior line: a rushing TD in addition to his 66 YFS against Atlanta. Now, he’ll face a Bucs team that’s really struggled to stop interior runners with elite DT Gerald McCoy (biceps) out.
LeSean McCoy @ MIA ($8.2k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
LeSean McCoy remains the primary means of moving the ball for the Bills. He draws a good matchup in the season finale against an up-and-down Dolphins defense. Miami has given up the most receptions per game (9.25) and third-most receiving YPG (74.75) to opposing RBs over the last month. McCoy burned the fish for 96 YFS and two TDs a couple of weeks ago.
Dion Lewis vs. NYJ ($7.2k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
We recommended Dion Lewis as a Cash play last week, but he surprised by flashing plenty of upside with two TDs in a win over the Bills. Now, he’ll face another struggling divisional foe that can stop interior rushes but struggles against quicker, pass-catching RBs. Essentially a workhorse with Rex Burkhead (knee) and James White (ankle) likely to sit this Sunday, Lewis is a strong option in any format.
Others to consider: Le’Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy, Christian McCaffrey, Kenyan Drake, C.J. Anderson, Marshawn Lynch, Giovani Bernard

Best Week 17 NFL DFS Wide Receivers on FanDuel
Julio Jones vs. CAR ($7.8k FanDuel) – GPP
A true boom-bust play, Julio Jones continues to sandwich big-time yardage performances between duds. Yet the Panthers’ secondary is ripe for the plucking. They’re allowing the most receptions per game (16) and receiving yards (224.75) to opposing WRs by far over the last month. Julio went nuts for 300 yards in a meeting with this group last year.
Marvin Jones Jr. vs. GB ($7.3k FanDuel) – GPP
The Packers have been flamed on the outside all season and Marvin Jones Jr. has hit his stride as a great downfield target for Matthew Stafford. He blew up with 205 receiving yards and 2 TDs in a meeting with Green Bay last season and torched the Packers with 7 receptions for 107 yards and 2 TDs in Week 8 this year, so he’s at least worth a look in tournaments.
JuJu Smith-Schuster vs. CLE ($7.3k FanDuel) – Cash
The Steelers’ passing offense should destroy the Browns’ maligned secondary this Sunday at home. With Antonio Brown out and Le’Veon Bell facing a Browns team that actually ranks first in rushing DVOA, Pittsburgh should use the short passing game and a surging slot man in JuJu Smith-Schuster to move the chains and nurse their lead.
Kelvin Benjamin @ MIA ($6.4k FanDuel) – GPP
The Bills are in a must-win situation this week and will look to burn the Dolphins’ inconsistent defense in sunny Florida. Kelvin Benjamin had a productive game last Sunday with five catches for 70 yards against the Patriots. He also saw a short TD called back on a strange, nit-picking review. He’s a matchup problem for Dolphins CB Xavien Howard, who was destroyed by similarly huge receiver Devin Funchess a few weeks ago.
Others to consider: Michael Thomas, Keenan Allen, Marvin Jones Jr., Jamison Crowder, Demaryius Thomas, Keelan Cole

Best Week 17 NFL DFS Tight Ends on FanDuel
Delanie Walker vs. JAX ($6.1k FanDuel) – GPP
This is a very tough position to call considering the Chiefs and Eagles could rest Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz, while Rob Gronkowski is insanely expensive as per usual. Delanie Walker has a good shot to lead the Titans in receiving in a matchup against the Jaguars’ elite secondary. Jacksonville really limits opposing WRs but ranks 15th in TE DVOA. Plus, Jacksonville might rest some defensive starters with the third seed locked up.
Cameron Brate vs. NO ($5.0k FanDuel) – GPP
The same logic applies to Cameron Brate, who faces a Saints team that’s much tougher to beat along the boundaries. With O.J. Howard (ankle) on injured reserve, Brate is set to soak up targets over the middle from Jameis Winston. It’s worth noting he would’ve caught a short TD last Sunday if he wasn’t clearly dragged down by a defender to draw a flag.
Others to consider: Rob Gronkowski, Greg Olsen, Vernon Davis, Eric Ebron
Best Week 17 NFL DFS D/ST on FanDuel
Steelers vs. CLE ($5.4k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
Even an injury-depleted Steelers unit can produce big FP totals against the weak Browns offense. DeShone Kizer continues to lead the NFL in interceptions, and that weak roster has little chance to do serious damage in terms of yardage. With Joe Haden back at CB, the Steelers are tough to beat down the field. They’re strong enough to hold up against the run as well.
Broncos vs. KC ($4.5k FanDuel) – GPP
Denver is only playing for pride but could be highly motivated to face a divisional rival at home this Sunday. The Chiefs are locked into their spot as the AFC West victor and might rest starters. If we see Patrick Mahomes out there instead of ball-security maven Alex Smith, the turnovers could flow.
