Best NBA DFS Picks for December 23, 2017

Guards

Lonzo Ball vs. POR (DraftKings 6.9k, FanDuel 7.5k)
Lonzo Ball is getting more comfortable and aggressive early into his rookie season. In the last five games, he’s averaging 17.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 7.2 boards. Ball is a triple-double threat every night and gets a ton of minutes to prove his worth. He’s also netting around a block and a steal a game. Luke Walton is opening the playbook so he can get Lonzo more looks, whether it be mid-range jumpers or 3-pointers. Ball is shooting 27 percent from 3-point land and made at least two 3s in the last five games.

Marcus Smart vs. CHI (5.3k DraftKings, 6k FanDuel)
Jaylen Brown is banged up, so Marcus Smart started last game in his position. Smart should receive more minutes tonight. The Celtics are going up against the Bulls, who allow their opponents to score just over 106 points a contest. Smart is shooting more 3s of late, just over four threes a contest, making around two a game. Smart is averaging 10.6 points, 1.6 steals, and 4.7 dimes a game. Last time the Celtics faced the Bulls, Smart dropped 13 while dishing out two assists.

George Hill vs. SAS (4.4k DraftKings, 4.9k FanDuel)
The Sacramento Kings needed some leadership, and that’s exactly what George Hill brought. As for his stats, Hill is averaging 18 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in the last four contests. Tonight, Hill faces his old squad in the Spurs, so expect a motivated effort from the 31-year-old. The veteran point guard is just above 50 percent from 3-point land and 77 percent from the charity stripe.

Others to consider: Darren Collison, Ricky Rubio, Rajon Rondo, Kris Dunn

Forwards

Nikola Mirotic @ BOS (6.7k DraftKings, 6.8k FanDuel)
Nikola Mirotic is back from injury and doing real damage for the Chicago Bulls. He’s scored over 20 points in four of the last six games. Plus, he’s hit at least three trey balls in five of those contests. In the last four games, Mirotic is averaging 21.2 points and 8.8 rebounds. He dropped 24 points and ripped down eight rebounds when the Bulls last matched up with the Boston Celtics.

T.J. Warren vs. MIN (6.6k DraftKings, 7.7k FanDuel)
The Phoenix Suns have a poor record, but their talent is deep and athletic. T.J. Warren dropped 27 points last game, and he’s averaging 19.7 points over the last six games. The N.C. State product must like playing the Minnesota Timberwolves; he averages 22 and five rebounds against them.

Domantas Sabonis vs. BKN (5.4k DraftKings, 4.7k FanDuel)
Domantas Sabonis was kind of the forgotten piece of the Paul George blockbuster trade, but he’s been awesome for the Pacers. Sabonis has collected seven double-doubles this season and has a block in nine games. He’s averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 rebounds over the last five games. The former OKC draft pick has scored over 10 points in the last four contests.

Others to consider: Derrick Favors, Kyle Kuzma , John Collins

Centers

Dwight Howard @ MIL (7.4k DraftKings, 8.3k FanDuel)
The Charlotte Hornets have struggled this year, but Dwight Howard has been their most consistent player. He’s averaging 15.9 points and 12.5 boards a contest. Howard has collected 17 double-doubles this season. In tonight’s game, the Bucks don’t have a lot of players who can match up against D12. He should be in for a feast. In two games against the Bucks this year, he’s averaging 12.5 points and 16.5 rebounds. He’s also shot 70 percent on his free throws in his last half-dozen games, which bodes well for tonight.

Taj Gibson @ PHX (5.9k DraftKings, 5.9k FanDuel)
Taj Gibson is a defensive leader for the Timberwolves, but he’s been putting up pretty good offensive numbers too. He’s recorded 11 double-doubles this season and at least one block in 13 games so far. The USC product is averaging 11.3 points and 8.2 boards a contest this year. Tonight’s opponent, the Suns, are letting opponents score a league-worst 112.8 points a game.

Others to consider: Marcin Gortat, Nikola Vucevic, Jordan Bell
