As with any DFS, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, gameflow, and more factors. This is important when constructing a roster on any of the daily fantasy sites.
By this time in the season, weather plays a key factor in NFL games. Make sure to check the forecast for each Sunday.

Best Week 16 NFL DFS Quarterbacks on FanDuel
Drew Brees vs. ATL ($8.4k FanDuel) – GPP
Somehow, Drew Brees is no longer a safe play in his home sweet dome against another high-scoring opponent. Yet he still has tremendous upside. He’s averaging 291.3 passing YPG at home this season and positive TD regression is bound to come. Brees will be highly motivated after throwing a late pick to cost the Saints a win in Atlanta two Thursdays ago. He’s fully capable of lighting it up in a game with a 52-point over/under this Sunday.
Cam Newton vs. TB ($8.3k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
Cam Newton is playing with swagger, which is nothing new, and making accurate throws from the pocket, which is a seriously positive development for the Panthers. Especially with Greg Olsen (foot) looking back to full speed for the first time since suffering his injury, Newton has the weapons to make a porous Bucs defense pay. Tampa gives up the most passing YPG (275) and the eighth-most RuYPG (16.93) to opposing QBs this season.
Dak Prescott vs. SEA ($7.6k FanDuel) – GPP
The Seahawks have gone from a red flag of a matchup to a complete cupcake. They were utterly steamrolled by Todd Gurley and the Rams last Sunday. Ezekiel Elliott is in line for a big day in his return from suspension. His presence should also force more attention toward the line of scrimmage, giving Dak Prescott a chance to follow up a solid performance last week with another good day at his diminished price tag.
Tyrod Taylor @ NE ($7.5k FanDuel) – GPP
With QBs facing the Patriots, you can at least expect negative gameflow to force them into throwing. Last week, Tyrod Taylor returned with a passing touchdown and a rushing score to down the Dolphins. Now, he faces a reeling Patriots defense dealing with key injuries across the front seven. Taylor’s burned the Pats before with his mobility. He’ll look to make things happen on the ground with his own receiving corps depleted.
Others to consider: Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, Blake Bortles, Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles

Todd Gurley @ TEN ($9.1k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
It’s simply tough to fade Todd Gurley right now. He’ll certainly be a popular option after torching the Seahawks for 170 YFS and four total TDs last Sunday. Up next is a mediocre Titans defense that’s funneled the third-most targets (8.14) and given up the seventh-most receptions per game (6.0) to opposing RBS this season. Gurley is functioning as an elite dual threat matched only in terms of usage by Le’Veon Bell.
Alvin Kamara vs. ATL ($8.5k FanDuel) – GPP
Even when overshadowed by Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara still found a way to produce in the box score. He logged 50 YFS and a receiving TD in a win over the Jets last week. This Sunday, he draws a much better matchup against the Falcons. Atlanta gives up the most receptions per game (6.57) to opposing RBs and allowed Kamara to catch three balls for 25 yards before he was knocked out early in their last meeting with a concussion.
Ezekiel Elliott vs. SEA ($8.3k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
There’s no reason for Ezekiel Elliott to debut at a diminished price tag as he returns from his six-game suspension. The Cowboys’ back is reportedly in great physical shape. Any rust he shows should dissipate by the second quarter as Dallas feeds their MVP the rock in a must-win situation. As mentioned above, the Seahawks’ run defense has sprung leaks. It looked like one of the worst in the NFL last Sunday at home.
Dion Lewis vs. BUF ($6.7k FanDuel) – Cash
With Rex Burkhead (knee) doubtful this week, Dion Lewis becomes safe enough to use in Cash games. The Patriots still have James White to consider as a back on passing downs, but it’s hard to imagine recurring healthy scratch Mike Gillislee taking away goal-line work from Lewis. Despite his diminutive stature, Lewis has shown a great ability to earn tough yards in tight spaces. He should produce good results against a Bills team that gives up the most FPPG to opposing RBs this season.
Others to consider: Kareem Hunt, Mark Ingram, Christian McCaffrey, Kenyan Drake, Devonta Freeman, Giovani Bernard

Best Week 16 NFL DFS Wide Receivers on FanDuel
Keenan Allen @ NYJ ($8.3k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
While Chargers QB Philip Rivers isn’t necessarily a slam-dunk play against the Jets’ inconsistent defense, Keenan Allen is just that in a fantastic individual matchup. The Jets rank 30th in DVOA against the opposition’s top receiver. They were just burned by New Orleans’ Michael Thomas for yet another huge line. Allen departed last week’s game briefly with a back injury but is reportedly good to go. He should be ready to dominate with the Chargers’ playoff hopes on the line.
A.J. Green vs. DET ($7.8k FanDuel) – GPP
After the entire team lost in embarrassing fashion at Minnesota last week, the Bengals’ offensive players are worth a look in a bounce-back spot. Of course, they’re led by A.J. Green. The extremely talented WR faces another relatively tough matchup, but Lions top CB Darius Slay is not as talented as Xavier Rhodes. Nor is Detroit well coached enough to completely take away the Bengals’ top weapon and pressure Andy Dalton at the same time.
Robert Woods vs. TEN ($6.6k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
Wasting little time in reintegrating him, the Rams targeted Robert Woods seven times last week. He produced with six catches and a TD over basically just two quarters before that game got out of hand. With his feet wet in that Seattle blowout, Woods could be ready to break out once again. He takes on a Titans team that ranks 23rd in passing DVOA and gives up the seventh-most receptions per game (12.5) to opposing WRs this year.
Dede Westbrook @ SF ($5.9k FanDuel) – GPP
Stubbornness can pay off in NFL DFS, especially in GPP formats. Playing Dede Westbrook this Sunday after he dropped a dud in Week 15 is a way to hedge your bets against guys like Keelan Cole and Jaydon Mickens soaking up all the production from a Jacksonville offense that’s suddenly willing to air it out with Leonard Fournette (knee, ankle) banged up. San Francisco ranks 27th in DVOA against the opposition’s top target, and Westbrook should serve as that top dog with Marqise Lee (ankle) out and Allen Hurns (ankle) questionable this week.
Others to consider: Michael Thomas, Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, Brandin Cooks, Devin Funchess, Jarvis Landry, Keelan Cole
Best Week 16 NFL DFS Tight Ends on FanDuel
Travis Kelce vs. MIA ($7.0k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
This potentially low-scoring tilt between two mediocre offenses profiles as a game in which Travis Kelce should find success rather than a downfield burner like Tyreek Hill. He’s averaging 9.2 yards per reception and 77.6 receiving YPG with three TDs over seven home games this year. Miami’s aggressive front seven could get caught running into the backfield on play-action calls, leaving Kelce free to make plays down the field.
Greg Olsen vs. TB ($6.6k FanDuel) – GPP
He basically came out of nowhere to produce a big line with nine receptions for 116 yards and a TD last week. That at least puts Greg Olsen in play as a tournament option this Sunday. You can’t beat his matchup against a Bucs team that gives up the most passing YPG and ranks 21st in DVOA against opposing TEs this season. Olsen totaled 203 receiving yards over two meetings with Tampa last year.
Others to consider: Rob Gronkowski, Delanie Walker, Vernon Davis, Cameron Brate
Best Week 16 NFL DFS D/ST on FanDuel
Rams @ TEN ($4.6k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
For an indication of how the athleticism of this Rams defense, look no further than their results last week in sacking the red-hot and ultra-mobile Russell Wilson seven times en route to a near shutout. Now, they face a hobbled Marcus Mariota (knee). The Heisman winner has been unable to escape with his legs recently, and LA has the personnel necessary to shut down his options on the outside. It should be a long, long day for Super Mario.
Chiefs vs. MIA ($4.5k FanDuel) – GPP
In their last two home games, with playoff implications swirling, the Chiefs’ defense rebounded from an embarrassing showing against the Jets to dominate the Raiders and Chargers. With elite pass rushers on the outside, they were able to force five interceptions, five sacks, and recover two fumbles during that span. Now, they face turnover-prone QB Jay Cutler at home in what is considered to be the loudest arena in the NFL.
