December 19, 2017 NHL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

For the 12/19 NHL slate tonight, and for the rest of the season, we’ll be writing up the centers, wingers, defensemen, and goalies we’re considering for our Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to the matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster at any of the daily fantasy sites. Ok, you know the super studs, so we’ll take a look at how you might go about rounding out your roster.

Best NHL DFS Picks for December 19, 2017

NHL DFS Centers

Eric Haula vs TB (5.2k DraftKings, 6k FanDuel)
The matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and  Vegas Golden Knights should be a high scoring affair. Both teams are in the top three in goals per game with the Lightning averaging a league-best 3.81 goals while the Knights are third at 3.44 goals a contest. Eric Haula’s been a great second line center, collecting 12 goals and 10 assists this year. He’s recorded three goals, two assists and 16 shots on net in the last five games. He’s tallied three goals and three assists on the powerplay this year. 

J.T. Miller vs. NYR (4.1k DraftKings, 5.1k FanDuel)
J.T. Miller’s scored in the last two games and he’s collected three points in the last five games. In total this year, Miller’s tallied six goals and 18 helpers. The 24-year-old’s produced two goals and three assists when the Rangers had the man advantage. Three of his goals have come at Madison Square Garden. He does have one game-winning goal this year.

Vincent Trocheck @ ARI (7.2k DraftKings, 6.7k FanDuel)
The Florida Panthers are deep down the middle and Vincent Trocheck has been great for the Florida Panthers. He leads the team in points with 13 goals and 20 assists. Trocheck’s been dominant on the powerplay, tallying six goals and five helpers. The 24-year-old even has a shorthanded goal this year. He’s recorded one goal and four assists in the last five contests.

NHL DFS Wingers

Alex Galchenyuk @ VAN  (5.1k DraftKings, 9.2k FanDuel)
Alex Galchenyuk was in the doghouse with Claude Julien but he’s back to being the Montreal Canadiens second-line left winger. The winger’s recorded a goal and an assist in the last three games. He’s done most of his damage on the powerplay. recording four goals and four helpers. In total this year, he’s tallied seven goals and 11 assists. The Vancouver Canucks are riddled with injuries so the Canadiens should be able to feast on the Canucks.

Bobby Ryan vs. MIN (3.7k DraftKings, 4.1k FanDuel)
The Ottawa Senators have struggled but Bobby Ryan recent play may be starting a turnaround. He’s scored in two straight games and has four points in five games. Ryan’s scored two of his three goals at the Canadian Tire Centre. The former Duck has fired 35 shots on net and he’s recorded one powerplay assist this year. He’s contributed three goals and nine assists this season.

Tyler Johnson @ VGK (5.3k DraftKings, 5.7k FanDuel)
Tyler Johnson’s been incredible recently for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He’s produced two goals and seven assists in the last five contests. Johnson’s recorded three goals and four assists on the powerplay this year. He’s tallied eight goals and 15 assists this season. The 27-year-old has fired 56 shots on net and has a shorthanded goal. He’s potted five of his eight goals on the road this year.

NHL DFS Defensemen

Torey Krug @ BUF (5.1k DraftKings, 5.5k FanDuel)
Torey Krug leads the Boston Bruin’s d-man in points with four goals and 14 helpers. He’s produced four assists in the last four contests. Krug’s produced one goal and three assists when the Boston Bruins had the man-advantage. Last time the Bruins played the Buffalo Sabres, Krug contributed one assist. The 26-year-old’s has 16 hits and 25 blocked shots this year.

John Carlson @ DAL (6.1k DraftKings, 5.8k FanDuel)
John Carlson has been awesome for the Capitals this year. Carlson has tallied 25 points in 33 games with two goals. He’s tallied three goals and 22 helpers this year. Carlson is the quarterback on the power-play and has 10 assists for the Capitals when they have the man advantage. In the last five games, the American d-man’s produced one goal and two assists. He’s blocked 61 shots this season and collected 24 hits.

Matt Dumba vs. CAR (4.4k DraftKings, 4.3k FanDuel)
Offensive defenseman are needed in the NHL and Matt Dumb has been a goal machine for the Minnesota Wild. He’s scored three goals in the last two games and blocked five shots. Dumba’s tallied six goals and eleven assists this year. The Senators allow just over three goals a game so Dumba and Wild should take advantage of the Senators poor defence.

NHL DFS Goalies

Anton Khudobin @ BUF (7.9k DraftKings, 7.4k FanDuel)
Having a great backup goalie is a necessity for any team and Anton Khudobin’s been great for the Boston Bruins. He’s 7-2-2 this year with a 2.67 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. The Russian goaltender is 3-2 in his last five contests. Buffalo is last in goals per game at 2.18 a contest.

Braden Holtby vs. COL (7.6K DraftKings, 9.1k FanDuel)
Braden Holtby’s been great for the Washington Capitals this year. The 28-year-old is 4-1 in his last five games with a 2.40 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. Holtby is 19-7-0 this season with 2.63 GAA and .919 save percentage. He’s 6-1 in the month of December and he’s made at least 35 saves, eight times this year.
