December 16, 2017 NHL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

For the 12/16 NHL DFS slate tonight, and for the rest of the season, we’ll be writing up the best picks for centers, wingers, defensemen, and goalies we’re considering for our Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also use this info when building lineups at Draft.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to the matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster on any of the daily fantasy sites.

Best NHL DFS Picks for December 16, 2017

NHL DFS Centers

Pierre-Luc Dubois @ ARI (5.1k DraftKings, 5.2k FanDuel)
Pierre-Luc Dubois is getting first-line ice time, and he should be in prime position to start producing. He’s contributed two goals, one assist, and fired 10 shots on net in the last five games. He’s collected six goals and eight helpers so far this season. The 19-year-old has contributed one goal and one assist when the Blue Jackets have the man advantage. Dubois had an assist the last time Columbus faced Carolina.

Derek Stepan vs. PIT (4.2k DraftKings, 5.3k FanDuel)
The hot weather of Phoenix, Arizona must do wonders for Derek Stepan. The former Ranger has collected 13 of his 19 points when he plays at home. He’s totaled five goals and 14 helpers this season. Stepan’s contributed two goals and six assists when the Coyotes have the man advantage. He’s recorded two points and 11 shots on net in the last five games.

Bryan Little @ STL (4.4k DraftKings, 4.7k FanDuel)
Bryan Little’s been great for the Winnipeg Jets so far this season. He’s put up 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) in 32 games. Little’s tallied one goal and seven helpers on Winnipeg’s power plays for 2017-18. He dished out three helpers in the last five games and fired four shots on net. As a team, his Jets can light up the scoreboard, averaging 3.34 goals a contest.

NHL DFS Wingers

Anders Lee vs LAK (6.1k DraftKings, 6.4k FanDuel)
No one has been able to stop Anders Lee this season. Lee has put up 33 points (19 goals, 14 assists) in 32 games. In the last five contests, he’s tallied three goals, two helpers, and 13 shots on net. The winger’s produced six goals and four assists when the Islanders have the man advantage. In December alone, he’s potted six goals.

Tanner Pearson @ NYI  (4.6k DraftKings, 5.k FanDuel)
Tanner Pearson’s been on fire as of late, contributing two goals and two assists in the last five games, plus six goals and 13 assists for the year. He’s collected seven points on the road this season and is on the Kings’ second line. This game should be a high-scoring affair, as both teams average three or more goals a game.

Ondrej Palat @ COL (5k DraftKings, 5.3k FanDuel)
The Tampa Bay Lightning get scoring from everywhere, and Ondrej Palat can put up points. He’s recorded seven goals and 13 assists in 31 games this season. He’s potted two goals on the power play and dished out four assists when the Lightning have the man advantage. Palat’s even contributed a shorthanded goal this year. He’s dished out three assists in the last five games. The Lightning lead the league in goals per game at 3.74.

NHL DFS Defensemen

Kris Letang @ ARI (6.5k DraftKings, 6.9k FanDuel)
Kris Letang has been dishing out assists this year like nobody’s business. He’s tossed out 22 helpers in 2017-18 to go along with two goals. He’s a quarterback on the power play and has distributed 11 assists on the PP. What’s more, Letang isn’t afraid to put his body on the line, blocking 50 shots this season.

Mattias Ekholm @ CHI (4.9k DraftKings, 4.8k FanDuel)
The Nashville Predators have a crazy collection of talent on their back end. Mattias Ekholm is an offensive threat, and he’s recorded six goals and 15 assists this season. He’s produced six assists in the last five games, with three of them coming on the power play. The Swedish defenseman has tallied four goals and six helpers on the PP this year. He even has a shorthanded snipe this season.

Ivan Provorov vs. PIT (5k DraftKings, 4.4k FanDuel)
Ivan Provorov has had a decent start to the season — four goals and 11 assists in 31 games. Plus, Provorov’s tallied two assists and 12 shots on net. The Russian defenseman has 70 hits and 69 blocked shots on the year. He’s home tonight, and two of his goals have come in front of the Philly faithful.

NHL DFS Goalies

Carey Price @ OTT (7.9k DraftKings, 8.7k FanDuel)
Have to have one player from the outdoor game in your lineup? Carey Price is the man you want. Price has won nine games this year with a .903 save percentage. He made 31 saves last game and got the win against the New Jersey Devils. On the year, Price is 1-0 against Ottawa with a .964 save percentage.

Matt Murray @ ARI (8.4K DraftKings, 8.5k FanDuel)
Matt Murray is back from injury and ready to right the ship in Pittsburgh’s crease. He’s 11-8-1 this season with a 2.91 goals against average. The Stanley Cup champ collected a win against the Arizona Coyotes earlier this year and only let in one goal. Murray has recorded one shutout this year as well.
