NBA DFS DraftKings.com & FanDuel.com Lineups & Picks for December 16, 2017

For the 12/16 NBA DFS slate tonight, and for the rest of the season, we’ll be writing up the guards, forwards, and centers we’re considering for our Cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. You can also use the plays below to form your strategy at Draft.

Please note the advice below is relevant for daily fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, and lots of other factors. This is important to consider when constructing a roster.

Injuries play a huge role in the NBA on a nightly basis, and value plays can arise at a moment’s notice. Always, always check the starting lineups and injury news right before tipoff.

Best NBA DFS Picks for December 16, 2017

Guards

Jimmy Butler vs. PHX (DraftKings 9k, FanDuel 9.7k)
Tom Thibodeau plays his starters almost 40 minutes a game, and Jimmy Butler is a stats machine. In the last five games, he’s averaging 26 points and just over six assists while playing 41.2 minutes a contest. Facing him tonight, Phoenix is last in the league in points allowed per game at 114.5. On the season, Butler is averaging 19.8 points and a shade over one 3-pointer per game.

Yogi Ferrell @ SAS (4.8k DraftKings, 4.4k FanDuel)
Dennis Smith Jr. is out due to injury, and Yogi Ferrell has done a great job stepping in to replace him. In each of his last three games, he’s scored over 10 points, dished just over three assists, and grabbed four rebounds a contest. Ferrell is shooting 38 percent from deep and 80 percent from the charity stripe. The Indiana product is playing 29.8 minutes a game in the last five contests.

Others to consider: Tyler Ulis, Marcus Smart, Dwyane Wade, Dion Waiters

Forwards

Jeff Green vs. UTA (4.1k DraftKings, 4.3k FanDuel)
Jeff Green seems to have found the fountain of youth. He’s been awesome coming off the bench for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s dropping 10.6 points a game while ripping down just under four rebounds a contest. In the last five games, Green’s dropped 17 points twice and hasn’t missed from free throw line (11/11). The Georgetown product is shooting 85 percent from the charity stripe and has a 52.9 field goal percentage.

Trevor Ariza vs. MIL (4.8k DraftKings, 5.3k FanDuel)
Modern NBA teams are hungry for “3 and D” wings. Trevor Ariza fills that void for the Houston Rockets. He’s shooting 39 percent from behind the arc and is getting 1.6 steals a game. Ariza makes just over two trey balls a game and shoots six a contest. On the season, the UCLA product is averaging just below 11 points a game while ripping down 4.6 boards. At home, as he is tonight, he’s dropping 13 points a contest while shooting 44 percent from the field.

Jayson Tatum @ MEM (5.7k DraftKings, 5.5k FanDuel)
All year now, the Boston Celtics have needed someone to step up in the absence of Gordon Hayward. Jayson Tatum is doing just that. He’s averaging 13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest. The rookie has scored 20+ points in five games this season and is shooting 82 percent from the free throw line. He’s making a 3-pointer a game and shooting 50 percent from 3-point land.

Others to consider: Rudy Gay, Harrison Barnes, Joe Ingles

Centers

DeAndre Jordan @ MIA (7.3k DraftKings, 8.6k FanDuel)
DeAndre Jordan has picked up the slack since Blake Griffin went out with a knee injury. The all-pro center has been a monster on the glass as of late. He’s grabbed at least 17 boards in the last five games and has collected a double-double in four of those contests. Jordan is shooting a modest 60 percent from the free throw line, and his field goal percentage sits at 66.1. The Clippers center is averaging 12.1 points through his last 10 contests.

Steven Adams @ NYC (6.5k DraftKings, 6.9k FanDuel)
Steven Adams has probably been Oklahoma City’s most consistent player this season. Adams is averaging 14 points and 8.7 rebounds a game. In his last 10, he’s dropped 15 a contest and hauled in 9.4 boards — good for eight double-doubles on the year. His field goal percentage is sky high at 64.9 because he basically only gets dunks or lobs. Adams can do it on the defensive end as well, averaging one steal and one block a game.

Others to consider: Joel Embiid, Enes Kanter, Greg Monroe
