Best NHL DFS Picks for December 11, 2017

NHL DFS Centers

Nicklas Backstrom @ NYI (6.1k DraftKings, 6.3k FanDuel)
The Washington Capitals have started off hot, and Nicklas Backstrom’s been absolutely dynamic. He’s tallied 25 points in 29 games, including 15 assists. He’s potted two goals and dished out three helpers in the last two games. The Swede has collected one goal and nine assists when the Capitals have the man advantage. Backstrom has sniped three of his five goals when Washington is on the road.

Frans Nielsen vs FLA (3.2k DraftKings, 4.2k FanDuel)
Frans Nielsen has been a great third line center for the Red Wings this year, contributing 12 points in 29 games. He gets time on the power play and on the penalty kill, hitting two power play goals and one shorthanded this year. In the last five games, the 11-year vet has put two past the goalie and dished out one assist. He’ll be a cheap addition to your lineup tonight, and if James Reimer starts for the Florida Panthers, he’s surrendered at least three goals in the last six games.

David Desharnais vs. DAL (3.6k DraftKings, 3.5k FanDuel)
David Desharnais is getting some first line ice time due to injuries, and he’s been putting up points — contributing one goal and four assists in the last five contests. The former Canadien has produced three goals and 10 helpers this year. Desharnais has collected 11 of 13 points at Madison Square Garden this year and does have a goal and an assist on the power play.

Others to consider: Vincent Trocheck, Henrik Sedin, Bryan Little

NHL DFS Wingers

Bryan Rust vs. COL (4.1k DraftKings, 3.9k FanDuel)
Sidney Crosby can make linemates look really good, and Bryan Rust gets the opportunity to play with him. He’s contributed four goals and 12 assists this year for the Penguins. Rust has been a great special teams player, producing one goal on the power play and has scored twice when the Pens are on the PP. Rust has collected nine of 16 points at home this year.

Corey Perry vs. CAR (5.7k DraftKings, 6.4k FanDuel)
Corey Perry is the super pest you love to hate; he’s been great for the depleted Ducks. He leads the team in points with six goals and 16 assists. The Olympic gold medalist has tallied two goals and three assists in the last five contests. Perry is on the first power play unit and has collected one goal and four assists when the Ducks have the man advantage.

Nikolaj Ehlers vs. VAN (6.2k DraftKings, 5.8k FanDuel)
The Winnipeg Jets have tons of offensive threats, and Nikolaj Ehlers is circled on many teams scouting reports. The 21-year-old has produced 13 goals and 10 assists this year. He’s been great on the power play, contributing three goals and four helpers. The left winger’s tallied three goals in the last five games and has five game-winners this year.

Others to consider: Rick Nash, Josh Bailey, Sebastian Aho

NHL DFS Defensemen

Aaron Ekblad @ DET (4.8k DraftKings, 4.8k FanDuel)
Aaron Ekblad’s been on fire for the Florida Panthers. He’s scored in three consecutive games and has six goals in total this year. Ekblad’s contributed one goal and three assists when the Panthers have the man advantage. He netted one assist the last time the Panthers faced Detroit.

Michael Del Zotto @ WPG (3.1k DraftKings, 3.7k FanDuel)
The Vancouver Canucks have a very young team, and Michael Del Zotto would be considered a veteran. The 27-year-old has tallied one goal and 11 helpers this season. He’s contributed two assists and six blocked shots in the last five games. Del Zotto’s recorded three assists on the power play and has 55 shots on net this year.

Erik Johnson @ PIT (4.6k DraftKings, 4.6k FanDuel)
Erik Johnson’s provided some goal-scoring for Colorado this year, potting a goal in two consecutive games. Johnson has sniped three of his four goals when the Avalanche are away from the Pepsi Center. Johnson has tallied 13 shots on net and 14 blocked shots in the last five games.

Others to consider: Brandon Montour, Tyson Barrie, Mike Green

NHL DFS Goalies

Henrik Lundqvist vs. DAL (8.1k DraftKings, 8.6k FanDuel)
Henrik Lundqvist is almost a must-start if he’s playing at home. The King is 11-3-2 at MSG with a 2.44 goals against average and a .912 save percentage. The Swedish netminder is 3-2 in his last five games and has made at least 26 saves in four of those games. Lundqvist has two shutouts, 14 wins and a 2.69 goals against average this season.

Connor Hellebuyck vs. VAN (8.3K DraftKings, 7.7k FanDuel)
Connor Hellebuyck’s struggled the past couple of games, but he’s been otherwise dominant this season. The 24-year-old is 15-3-4 with a 2.50 goals against average. Vancouver has lost two in a row and only scored three goals in those two games. Hellebuyck’s collected one win against the Canucks this year and has a 2.01 goals against Vancouver.
