Best NHL DFS Picks for December 7, 2017

NHL DFS Centers

Derek Stepan @ BOS (4.8k DraftKings, 5.3k FanDuel)
Derek Stepan’s been on quite the roll recently. He’s scored in the past two games while tallying five points and 15 shots on net in the last five contests. The former Ranger has been great on the power play for the Coyotes, recording two goals and five assists. Stepan centers the first line and the second power-play unit.

Joe Thornton vs. CAR (4k DraftKings, 5.3k FanDuel)
Joe Thornton may be missing his buddy Patrick Marleau, but he’s still producing points for the San Jose Sharks. He’s tallied 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in 26 games. He’s contributed two goals and five assists when the Sharks have the man advantage. Thornton’s potted one game-winning goal this year and has seven points on the road this season. Tonight’s opponent, the Carolina Hurricanes, are surrendering 2.98 goals per game.

Mark Scheifele @ FLA (7.4k DraftKings, 8k FanDuel)
Mark Scheifele’s been dynamic and dominant this year for the Winnipeg Jets. He’s tied for fifth in the league in points with 36 (14 goals, 20 helpers). In the last five contests, he’s put three past the goalie and dished out nine helpers. Meanwhile, the Panthers are struggling this year, giving up 3.37 goals a game while the Jets score 3.36 a contest. Scheifele’s collected 13 power play tallies this year as well.

Others to consider: Sidney Crosby, Aleksander Barkov, Jordan Staal

NHL DFS Wingers

Vladimir Sobotka vs. DAL (4k DraftKings, 3.8k FanDuel)
The St. Louis Blues have many threats on offense, and Vladimir Sobotka is one of them. He’s recorded 15 points in 28 games with five goals. He is playing on the first line and gets second-team power play ice time. Sobotka has three points and 16 shots on net in the last five contests.

Josh Ho-Sang vs. PIT  (3.1k DraftKings, 3.1k FanDuel)
Josh Ho-Sang is a young and talented player for the Islanders. The Toronto native has tallied 12 points in 17 games this year. In the last five contests, he’s recorded three assists. He sees some time on the power play and has a wicked shot when he can release it. It should be a high-scoring contest tonight between the Penguins and Islanders. New York averages 3.67 a game, while the Pen’s pot 2.97 a contest.

Adrian Kempe vs. OTT (3.5k DraftKings, 4.4k FanDuel)
The Los Angeles Kings have more youth in their lineup, and Adrian Kempe is one of the Kings’ bright young players. He’s produced 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) in 28 games. He’s potted three goals in the last five games and has been dynamite in clutch situations, recording three game-winning goals this year.

Others to consider: Claude Giroux, Mark Stone, Jeff Skinner

NHL DFS Defensemen

Shea Weber vs. CGY (5.4k DraftKings, 5.4k FanDuel)
Shea Weber is back from injury and doesn’t look worse for wear. Last game against the Blues, he scored twice and fired six shots on net. In his last five contests, Weber collected three goals and two helpers. He simply isn’t afraid to put his body on the line, recording 48 blocked shots this year.

Derrick Pouliot vs. PHI (3.3k DraftKings, 3.8k FanDuel)
Derrick Pouliot had a beauty goal and two assists last game against the Hurricanes. He’s a mobile defenseman who can jump in the rush and surprise teams. Pouliot should be able to take advantage of some tired legs since the Philadelphia Flyers will be on the second night of a back to back. The 23-year-old has produced 10 points this season.

Charlie McAvoy vs. DET (4.7k DraftKings, 4.6k FanDuel)
The Boston Bruins have some great defencemen, and Charlie McAvoy is one of their most productive. He’s on a four-game point streak and has two goals and two assists in those four contests. McAvoy’s totaled 15 points in 27 games with four goals. The rookie has also blocked 30 shots this season.

Others to consider: Tyson Barrie, Tyler Myers, Erik Johnson

NHL DFS Goalies

Jacob Markstrom vs PHI (7.8k DraftKings, 7.7k FanDuel)
Jacob Markstrom got his first career shutout last game against the Hurricanes. He made 30 saves in the outing to collect his eighth win of the season. The Canucks started Markstrom earlier this year against the Flyers, and he recorded the win and sported a .947 save percentage. In this matchup, Philly will be on the second night of a back to back.

Jonathan Quick vs OTT (8.1K DraftKings, 8.8k FanDuel)
The two-time Vezina Trophy nominee has been great this year — 14-8-1 with a 2.20 goals against average and .929 save percentage. In his last five games, the 31-year-old is a perfect 5-0 with a .944 save percentage. Plus, he has not given up more than two goals in any of those contests. The Ottawa Senators will be on the second night of a back to back and average 2.92 goals a game.

Others to consider: Martin Jones, Carey Price, Tuukka Rask
