As with any DFS, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than in real life due to matchup, price, gameflow, and more factors. This is important when constructing a roster on any of the daily fantasy sites.
By this time in the season, weather plays a key factor in NFL games, so make sure to check the forecast for each Sunday.
Best Week 14 NFL DFS Quarterbacks on FanDuel
Russell Wilson @ JAX ($7.7k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
This is a very interesting slate for QBs in that the prices are all over the place at the top. Despite coming on strong to potentially take a lead in the MVP race, Russell Wilson is the QB5 on FanDuel because he’s facing an elite Jaguars defense that ranks first in passing DVOA this year. Yet Wilson’s ability to extend plays and run for first downs makes him a dangerous foe for Jacksonville. The Jags rank 24th in rushing DVOA and allow the 10th-most rush attempts (3.42) per game to opposing QBs due in part to their elite pass rush.
Alex Smith vs. OAK ($8.2k FanDuel) – GPP
The over-priced Alex Smith is worth rolling out in GPP formats but is a bit too risky to use in Cash given his significant drop in production prior to last Sunday’s shootout with the Jets. He went for 342 passing yards and three TDs against the Raiders in Week 7 and clearly has great upside against a team that ranks dead last in passing DVOA this year.
Derek Carr @ KC ($7.7k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
The Chiefs aren’t far behind the Raiders in terms of defensive ineptitude. They gave up 474 total yards to the weak Jets offense last week and looked even more disjointed while integrating formerly great CB Darrelle Revis. Derek Carr had his best game of the season against KC on Thursday night back in Week 7. While he hasn’t flashed much upside since then, this game has plenty of shootout potential with first place in the AFC West on the line.
Jameis Winston vs. DET ($7.2k FanDuel) – GPP
Seemingly healthy after missing several games to rest his ailing shoulder, Jameis Winston completed 21 of 32 passes for 270 yards and two TDs at Green Bay last Sunday. He’ll return home this week to face a Lions team that gives up the sixth-most FD PPG to opposing QBs and the seventh-most passing YPG (257.6) this season. With plus-sized targets Cameron Brate and Mike Evans working against the skilled, but small Lions secondary, Winston’s a good bet for multiple TDs again.
Others to consider: Carson Wentz, Matthew Stafford, Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo
Best Week 14 NFL DFS Running Backs on FanDuel
LeSean McCoy vs. IND ($9.0k FanDuel) – GPP
It seems unfair for LeSean McCoy to be priced this high after producing lackluster lines in four of his last five appearances, but it’s still worth paying up for him in tournament formats. Tyrod Taylor (knee) is in danger of missing this game, which would force the Bills to call for an even more conservative game plan. They fed McCoy the rock 20 times in an attempt to keep Tom Brady off the field last week. The Colts rank 32nd in DVOA against opposing RBs while giving up the third-most receiving YPG (51.83) to the position this year. Shady could have a big game as an all-around weapon at the center of Buffalo’s offense.
Kareem Hunt vs. OAK ($7.2k FanDuel) – GPP
Give Kareem Hunt a look one more time as an under-priced RB with appeal in GPP formats. He showed signs of life with 63 YFS on limited touches last week. The Chiefs game plan called for a pass-heavy approach against the Jets’ struggling secondary. This Sunday, Oakland is vulnerable at all levels and is giving up the third-most receptions per game (6.17) to opposing RBs while failing to make any sort of adjustments in that regard. This affords Hunt a chance to break some of the long TDs that gave him so much upside earlier this season.
Marshawn Lynch @ KC ($6.4k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
After handling 49 touches over his last two games, it’s safe to say that Marshawn Lynch is functioning like the workhorse he was earlier in his career. He’s still running angry and will likely be motivated to redeem himself after getting ejected early in a Week 7 meeting with Kansas City. The Chiefs rank 31st in rushing DVOA and give up the third-most FD PPG to opposing RBs this season, so this matchup speaks for itself.
Giovani Bernard vs. CHI ($5.1k FanDuel) – GPP
With Joe Mixon in the league’s concussion protocol, Gio Bernard has a chance to take over as the Bengals’ lead back this week. He’s cheap enough to warrant consideration in any format and could see a lot of work in the passing game given the Bears’ ability to shut down opposing receivers and funnel targets toward the middle of the field. Chicago ranks 26th in DVOA defense against passes in the middle of the field. That’s where Bernard could rack up his yardage.
Others to consider: Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Lamar Miller, Samaje Perine, Jamaal Williams, Bilal Powell

Best Week 14 NFL DFS Wide Receivers on FanDuel
DeAndre Hopkins vs. SF ($8.6k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
Despite the presence of a below average QB under center in Tom Savage, DeAndre Hopkins continues to vacuum targets and pile up yardage. He draws a juicy matchup this week at home against a 49ers team that ranks 27th in DVOA against the opposition’s top receiver. San Francisco gives up 0.92 TDs per game to opposing WRs.
Keenan Allen vs. WAS ($8.4k FanDuel) – Cash
With 10-plus receptions, 100-plus yards, and a TD in a third consecutive game, Keenan Allen made history last Sunday. He’s a strong Cash play despite drawing a tougher matchup this week against a Redskins secondary that features plus-sized corners in Bashaud Breeland and Josh Norman. Still, Washington struggles at times to guard out of the slot.
Tyreek Hill vs. OAK ($7.8k FanDuel) – GPP
Tyreek Hill has tons of upside in a matchup against the Raiders’ plus-sized corners, who struggle to deal with speedy receivers. Possibly the fastest player in the NFL with pads on, Hill is coming off a career-high 185-yard performance against the Jets. Hill should maintain that momentum in the best possible matchup for a passing offense.
Josh Gordon vs. GB ($6.7k FanDuel) – GPP
After posting solid numbers in his return to the field, Josh Gordon draws a much better matchup this week. He caught 4-of-11 targets against elite CB Casey Hayward and the Chargers, but now he faces a Packers team that ranks 30th in passing DVOA with no noteworthy corners capable of slowing him down. The Browns’ primary offensive weapon could even lead Cleveland to its first win of the year with a huge performance.
Others to consider: A.J. Green, Mike Evans, Michael Crabtree, Golden Tate, Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, Marquise Goodwin
Best Week 14 NFL DFS Tight Ends on FanDuel
Travis Kelce vs. OAK ($8.0k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
With Rob Gronkowski suspended and Zach Ertz (concussion) questionable, Travis Kelce stands head and shoulders above the other options at TE this week. He’s posted 100 receiving yards and/or a TD in five of his last six games. Kelce might see lower ownership simply because he was quiet (four catches, 33 yards, TD) in a shootout against the Raiders back in Week 7. Yet Oakland’s been awful against opposing TEs, giving up the eighth-most receptions (5.25) and seventh-most YPG (60.08) to the position this year.
Cameron Brate vs. DET ($5.4k FanDuel) – GPP
An appealing tournament play and potential stacking partner with Jameis Winston, Cameron Brate has a chance to build on his two-touchdown performance last Sunday. He’s facing a Lions team that shuts down opposing WRs with Darius Slay in coverage toward the boundaries. Yet Detroit gives up 57.9 receiving YPG and ranks 31st in DVOA defense against opposing TEs this year.
Others to consider: Evan Engram, Vernon Davis, Ricky Seals-Jones, Dwayne Allen
Best Week 14 NFL DFS D/ST on FanDuel
Seahawks @ JAX ($4.9k FanDuel) – GPP
This proud defense proved it can still compete against the NFL’s elite by holding Philadelphia to 10 points last week. The Seahawks should be fired up to face an upstart Jaguars team this Sunday. Seattle’s squad actually makes for a better play than the hosts given how much better Russell Wilson is than Blake Bortles. Leonard Fournette (ankle) isn’t healthy and can be shut down on the ground, which may force Bortles into more of his trademark mistakes.
Giants vs. DAL ($4.1k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
The Cowboys’ offense showed signs of life in a win over Washington last Thursday, but Dak Prescott continues to struggle without Ezekiel Elliott. The Giants are a bit of a wildcard as they move on from Ben McAdoo, but that could very well have a galvanizing effect for a talented defense that’s underachieved this year. Jason Pierre-Paul is still one of the best pass rushers in the league, and Janoris Jenkins is capable of neutralizing Dez Bryant on the outside.
