NBA DFS Slate Breakdown for December 5, 2017
Phoenix Suns (+13.5) at Toronto Raptors (Over/Under – 224.5)
This is a dangerous game to target as indicated by the spread, but the Suns are a fun young team capable to getting into shootouts when Devin Booker ($8.0k DraftKings, $7.1k FanDuel) plays like he did when dropping 46 points to down the Sixers last night. You could use Booker alongside DeMar DeRozan ($8.5k, $8.7k) as a powerful stack considering they’ll be up against each other. Their defense could suffer due to their high usage offensively.
Serge Ibaka ($5.0k, $5.2k) has been an impressive per-minute player lately and could see more time against a Suns team that’s rotating Greg Monroe, Alex Len, and Tyson Chandler ($4.3k, $5.2k) when all are healthy. If Len misses another game with his ankle injury, Chandler becomes a good bet to produce a potential double-double.
Ultimately, the best value on the Suns might be T.J. Warren ($6.4k, $6.8k). His ability to produce instant offense presents mismatches for big power forwards and smaller wing players. His price tag is down on FanDuel for little reason, as he just met value in a brutal matchup at Boston.

Utah Jazz (+7) at Oklahoma City Thunder (Over/Under – 198)
Russell Westbrook ($11.0k DraftKings, $11.0k FanDuel) has the highest floor in this contest and could be the safest play on the slate if it stays close down the stretch. Rudy Gobert (knee) may not even suit up on the second half of a B2B set. Utah’s perimeter defense has struggled regardless.
Donovan Mitchell ($7.1k, $7.2k) is the obvious stacking partner. He’s a candidate to carry the Jazz offense into a close game. Mitchell posted a 41.3 percent usage rate while dropping 41 points on Friday, then followed that up with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting before taking a seat in Monday’s blowout win.
Rudy Gobert’s status could have ripple effects on both sides of the ball. If he sits, you have to consider Derrick Favors ($6.6k, $7.0k) as a strong play. Steven Adams ($5.9k, $6.9k) has been quite efficient for the Thunder of late and would clearly benefit if Gobert is out.
If Rodney Hood (ankle) remains out, Joe Ingles ($4.9k, $5.0k) and Alec Burks ($4.5k, $4.8k) would become even more appealing. In garbage time, Burks went off for 27 points on Monday; he’s a pure scorer.

Washington Wizards (+5.5) at Portland Blazers (Over/Under – 203)
With two defensive-minded teams and a relatively low total, this is a game to target for value rather than premier plays. Damian Lillard ($9.4k, $9.1k) is always a GPP candidate, capable of going off against Washington’s backup point guards. Bradley Beal ($7.6k, $7.6k) is a high-risk option considering how he’s struggled in the face of extra defensive attention since Wall’s injury.
The entire Wizards offense collapsed in Utah last night. That makes it even riskier to pay up for studs in this contest. For value, Kelly Oubre Jr. ($4.9k, $5.1k) and Tomas Satoransky ($4.1k, $4.8k) are still worth deploying on the Washington side of the ball. Al-Farouq Aminu ($4.3k, $4.6k) is a solid value as he comes back from an ankle injury. If you’re predicting a blowout, consider Pat Connaughton ($3.6k, $3.6k) as the best scorer off the deeper part of Portland’s bench.
