Best NHL DFS Picks for November 16, 2017
NHL DFS Centers
Connor McDavid vs. STL (7.8k DraftKings, 9.2k FanDuel)
The Oilers have been disappointing this year but Connor McDavid’s performing at an elite level. He’s tallied 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 22 games. McDavid’s put up six points in the last five games, including three goals. Last game against the Golden Knights, he potted one goal and had two assists. He should continue his dominance against the Blues tonight.
Logan Couture vs. FLA (6.1k DraftKings, 6.7k FanDuel)
Logan Couture is proving to be a number one center this year, raking sixth in the league in goals with 10. He’s also recorded 15 points in 16 games. Couture should take advantage of the Florida Panthers, who are ranked 30th in the league in goals allowed at 3.76 a game. Lastly, he has been dominant on the power-play, tallying three goals and two assists.
Steven Stamkos @ ARI (7.7k DraftKings, 8.7k FanDuel)
The Lighting are the best team in the league, and Steven Stamkos is lighting up the NHL — 31 points in 18 games. In the last five, Stamkos has seven points. Just under half of his points have come with the man advantage. He’s sniped six goals and dished out eight helpers on the power-play. Nikita Kucherov and #91 have combined for 60 points this year, and the Lightning are atop the league at 3.89 goals a game.
Others to consider: Anze Kopitar, Eric Staal, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
NHL DFS Wingers
Patrick Marleau vs. NJD (5.2k DraftKings, 5.5k FanDuel)
Patrick Marleau has fit in great with the youthful Leafs: 13 points in 19 games. Marleau is on a four-game point streak with three goals. The first-year Leaf is great in the clutch and has sniped three game-winners this year. In the last three games, Marleau has ripped at least three shots on goal.
Mark Stone vs. PIT (6.6k DraftKings, 6.4k FanDuel)
Mark Stone has been great for the Senators this year, tallying 12 goals and seven assists. The Senators are 8-3-5, and Stone is a major reason why. In the last five games, Stone’s recorded five goals and two assists. Plus, the Senators are third in the league in goals per contest at 3.63.
Josh Bailey vs. CAR (4.8k DraftKings, 4.9k FanDuel)
Josh Bailey is averaging just over a point per game with three goals and 15 assists in 18 games. He’s been a quarterback on the power-play, dishing out seven helpers with the man advantage. He has four points in the last five contests and is averaging just over 17 minutes a game this year.
Others to Consider: Nikita Kucherov, Phil Kessel, Jeff Skinner
NHL DFS Defensemen
P.K. Subban @ MIN (5k DraftKings, 5.6k FanDuel)
P.K. Subban is flamboyant and a thrill to watch. This season, he’s scored four goals and tallied eight assists in 17 games. The puck-moving defenseman is a threat anytime he is on the ice. Subban’s recorded three goals in the previous five contests and has been great when the Predators have the man advantage, racking up a goal and six helpers. #76 is must-have for your lineup.
Torey Krug @ LAK (5.2k DraftKings, 5.6k FanDuel)
Torey Krug has been the Bruins’ best defensive player so far this year, recording three goals and 11 assists. He’s recorded a point in Boston’s last seven games: two goals and seven helpers. In their last game against the Maple Leafs, Krug fired a whopping nine shots on net. Look for #47 to continue his aggressive play against the Kings tonight.
Shea Weber vs. ARI (6k DraftKings, 5.2k FanDuel)
If any team needs a pick-me-up it’s the Arizona Coyotes. They haven’t won in regulation and are allowing a league worst 3.90 goals a game. Shea Weber is tied with four other Canadiens for most points on the team with 12. He’s got three points in the last five games for the Habs and has recored at least one shot on goal in each of those contests.
Others to consider: Brent Burns, Victor Hedman, Kris Letang
NHL DFS Goalies
Devan Dubnyk vs. NASH (8k DraftKings, 9.2k FanDuel)
There is no hotter goalie in the NHL than Devan Dubnyk. He’s recorded three straight shutouts, making a minimum of 30 saves in those contests. Dubnyk’s save percentage is .926 and has a goals-against average of 2.36 this season. Ride the hot hand with the Minnesota goalie and hope he can continue his shutout streak.
Jonathan Quick vs. BOS (8.4K DraftKings, 8.7k FanDuel)
The Boston Bruins will be on the second night of a back-to-back, so look for Jonathan Quick to take advantage. Quick’s lost three in a row, so he should be primed for a bounce-back game. His save percentage is .930 and his GAA 2.32, plus nine wins and one shutout this season. The Bruins struggle to score and are 27th in the goals per game (2.75).
Others to Consider: Andrei Vasilevskiy, Martin Jones, Jake Allen
