Best NHL DFS Picks for November 10, 2017
NHL DFS Centers
Evgeni Malkin @ WSH (7.4k DraftKings, 9k FanDuel)
Whenever the Penguins and Capitals square off, all eyes are on Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, but Evgeni Malkin is the one who should be in your lineup. He has tallied 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) and has been devastating on the powerplay. The Russian sniper has four goals and five assists when the Pens have the man advantage. He has six points in the last five games, including three snipes.
Mathew Barzal @ DAL (4.6k DraftKings, 4.4k FanDuel)
Mathew Barzal has been a pleasant surprise for the Islanders with 14 points in 15 games. He is on a six-game point streak, recording 11 points during those contests. Two games ago, he totaled five helpers in a 6-4 win over the Avalanche. The Islanders have put up big goal totals this year. Barzal is third in the league in goals per game at 3.60.
William Karlsson vs. WPG (4.4k DraftKings, 5.1k FanDuel)
William Karlsson has 10 points in 15 games for the surprising Golden Knights, including four points in his last five. Karlsson does get some powerplay minutes and has one goal and three assists on the man advantage. The Swede is a cheap addition to your lineup, and Vegas is fifth in the league in goals per game at 3.50.
Others to consider: Connor McDavid, Anze Kopitar, Steven Stamkos
NHL DFS Wingers
James van Riemsdyk vs. BOS (5.4k DraftKings, 6.3k FanDuel)
James van Riemsdyk is always in trade rumors, but he’s had a decent start to the year — six goals and five assists. He often logs second-unit powerplay minutes and is always mixing it up in the front of the net. He has two goals and three assists when he gets time on PP. The Leafs score a ton and are second in the league in goals per game at 3.80.
Alex Ovechkin vs. PIT (7.8k DraftKings, 9k FanDuel)
Alex Ovechkin and Crosby will always be compared, and whenever they matchup, it’s must-see television. “Ovi” has 13 ginos to start the year off and is tied for a team lead in points with 18. You’ll always see him in his one-timer spot on the powerplay, so expect a few looks there. Ovechkin is currently working on a three-game point streak.
Evander Kane vs. FLA (7k DraftKings, 6.8k FanDuel)
Evander Kane has been Buffalo’s best player by far this year and is a threat whenever he is on the ice. Kane has racked up three shorthanded goals this season and could be poised to land some more against the Panthers. The winger had two goals last time out in a 3-1 win over the Capitals.
Others to Consider: Phil Kessel, Blake Wheeler, James Neal, William Nylander
NHL DFS Defensemen
Morgan Rielly @ LAK (5.2k DraftKings, 4.8k FanDuel)
Morgan Reilly is sixth in the league in defenseman points with 13 in 17 games. He has two points in as many games. And the mobile defenseman can get some points just off pushing the pace. He has at least one shot on goal in the past five games. With Auston Matthews laboring, Reilly will be depended on to quarterback the powerplay.
Nick Leddy vs. EDM (5.3k DraftKings, 4.9k FanDuel)
Nick Leddy will be a cheap add with the ability to rack up some fantasy points — 10 points in 15 games. This includes three goals, two of which came on the powerplay. Leddy had a two-goal game against the Avalanche and has six points in the past five games.
Aaron Ekblad vs. DET (4.9k DraftKings, 4.8k FanDuel)
Aaron Ekblad has eight points this season. The Red Wings will be on the second night of a back-to-back and could have some tired legs. Tired legs sometimes cause dumb penalties, and Ekblad has four assists on the powerplay. Ekblad also has two or more shots in the previous five games.
Others to consider: Torey Krug, Seth Jones, Justin Faulk
NHL DFS Goalies
Matt Murray vs WSH (7.5k DraftKings, 9k FanDuel)
Matt Murray has two Stanley Cups for a reason: because he shows up in big games. Expect this one to be a tight-checking game, and low-scoring too. Murray is 9-3-1 this season with 2.9 goals against average. Last time out, he stopped 24 pucks and got the win. Murray is a must-start on Friday night.
Sergei Bobrovsky vs CAR (8.3K DraftKings, 9.1k FanDuel)
The Vezina winner has eight wins so far this year and one shutout. The Hurricanes struggle to score and are 26th in the league at 2.62 goals a game. Sergei Bobrovsky is an expensive add, but he might be needed, as some teams are going with their backups on Friday night. He’s made at least 30 saves in the past five games.
Others to Consider: Ben Bishop, Braden Holtby, Chad Johnson
