Best NBA DFS Picks for November 7, 2017
Guards
Damian Lillard vs. MEM ($8.7k DraftKings, $9.8k FanDuel)
While he draws a tough matchup tonight, that’s almost immaterial when you glance at Damian Lillard’s price tag on DK. He’s been absolutely en fuego lately, averaging 34.3 points per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor over his last four games. Memphis is actually giving up the sixth-most PPG (23.9) to opposing PGs this season, as Mike Conley has been bothered by an achilles issue recently. Some of Lillard’s big games have come against top ten defensive teams, such as the Jazz, Raptors, and Clippers, so this home tilt against the Grizzlies fifth-rated defense is no reason to ignore Dame Dolla.
Dwayne Wade vs. MIL ($4.8k DraftKings, $4.6k FanDuel)
Don’t risk using Dwayne Wade in Cash Games quite yet, but his performance on Sunday was quite noteworthy. It could start a trend of Wade leading the Cavs’ second unit. LeBron James’ workload is unsustainable; Kevin Love (illness) is questionable; Tristan Thompson (calf) is out multiple weeks. Of course, Isaiah Thomas (groin) isn’t ready to help share the load, so D-Wade stepped up and dropped 25 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in a comeback effort against the Hawks. Cleveland needs him to build on that momentum against the Bucks’ 24th-rated defense.
Donovan Mitchell vs. PHI ($4.6k DraftKings, $5.2k FanDuel)
Donovan Mitchell is an easy play for value tonight in any format. He could be a key component in another Sixers game that’s ripe to stack. Philadelphia allows the most FPPG (47.7) and PPG (29.67) to opposing SGs this season. Mitchell has stepped into an increased role because of the Jazz’ flawed roster, with Ricky Rubio and Rodney Hood hardly complementing each other in the backcourt. The rookie out of Louisville spent a post-graduate year at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, the nation’s premier prep school for basketball players, which partially explains why he seems so NBA-ready.
Others to Consider: Russell Westbrook, Kemba Walker, Ricky Rubio, Tyreke Evans, Jeremy Lamb, J.J. Redick, Frank Ntilinka
Forwards
Giannis Antetokounmpo @ CLE ($10.8k DraftKings, $11.7k FanDuel)
The Cavs officially have the worst-rated defense in the NBA and might be on a historic pace in terms of their points generosity. It makes sense to target any capable offensive play starting opposite Cleveland, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is beyond capable in terms of his ability to score the ball. His price tag is down on DK after a couple of relatively quiet games. He burned the Cavs for 34 points on 15-of-22 shooting earlier this season and stepped up with averages of 24 points, 9.3 rebounds, and four steals/blocks per game over four meetings with the Cavs last year. The presumed future MVP clearly gets revved up for showdowns with the incumbent King James.
Kristaps Porzingis vs. CHA ($9.4k DraftKings, $9.8k FanDuel)
As long as the Knicks get into close games, Kristaps Porzingis is going to post monstrous numbers. There’s a “Pick ‘Em” line on tonight’s tilt at Madison Square Garden. Charlotte’s defense is down from last year, and like most teams, they don’t have an answer for “The Unicorn” because Dwight Howard isn’t quick enough at this stage in his career, while Frank Kaminsky and Cody Zeller don’t have the size to challenge KP on the low block. Take away his lackluster lines in two blowout losses, and The Zinger is averaging 34.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season.
Robert Covington @ UTA ($5.3k DraftKings, $6.3k FanDuel)
Utah has been surprisingly vulnerable on the perimeter, and Robert Covington is a nice mid-tier play to use for exposure to this exciting young team. He’s heating up too: 44 points on 11-for-20 shooting from long range over his last two appearances. The Jazz are ranked 24th in 3-point defense (38.4 percent) this year.
That all being said, Ben Simmons ($8.8k, $9.3k) remains the jewel of the Sixers’ revamped offense. He should see a marked increase in usage with Joel Embiid (rest) ruled out tonight. Simmons boats a 33 percent assist rate and 29.1 percent usage rate while averaging 1.35 FPs per minute with Embiid and Bayless (also out) off the floor this season. The Jazz gave up huge lines to James Harden and Damian Lillard recently — the focal points of their respective offenses.
Others to Consider: LeBron James, Khris Middleton, Tim Hardaway Jr., Will Barton, Jeff Green, Richaun Holmes

Centers
Nikola Jokic vs. BKN ($8.5k DraftKings, $9.5k FanDuel)
After a down game against the tough Warriors, Nikola Jokic is primed to bounce back against a weak Nets defense that rarely even plays a true center. Brooklyn is giving up the fifth-most FPPG (57.62) and second-most PPG (26.5) to opposing centers along with most PPG overall (119.3) due in part to their league-leading pace of play. Jokic is rocking a 20.8 percent usage rate, 23 percent assist rate and 32.3 percent defensive rebounding rate to lead the Nuggets. That makes him a high-floor, high-ceiling option in the most favorable matchup possible.
John Henson @ CLE ($4.7k DraftKings, $5.0k FanDuel)
So far, John Henson has responded well to moving into the Bucks’ starting lineup with Greg Monroe (calf) out for a couple of weeks. The lanky big man only scored eight points but exceeded value with 23 rebounds and nine assists over his last two appearances. Now, he faces a reeling Cavs team that’s without Tristan Thompson (calf) and just got Kevin Love back after a brief hospitalization. Henson isn’t going to lead the offense, but he’s a better option than young Thon Maker and should clear the glass in a fast-paced contest.
Others to Consider: DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gobert, Steven Adams, Amir Johnson
