Week 5 FanDuel.com DFS NFL GPP and Cash Game Stacks
WEEK 6 FANDUEL STACKS ARTICLE HERE
Week 5 NFL is upon us and everyone is looking to cash in on the big money at FanDuel. Every week, we’ll bring you our top DFS NFL picks for each position, and recommend them as Cash Game and/or GPP plays. And to keep up with all things PlayPicks, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
Cash game options generally come with less risk and a more stable floor, while the best GPP plays can come with tons of risk and upside. Taking a chance on players with high ceilings and low floors is a good way to separate from a large tournament field.
As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, game flow, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS NFL, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!
Week 5 DFS NFL Stacks on FanDuel
Aaron Rodgers/Jordy Nelson/Martellus Bennett @ DAL ($9.5k, $8.6k and $5.3k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
We covered why each of these players are great options in the FanDuel Picks and Plays article and that obviously makes them worth stacking together. Over Nelson’s last five healthy seasons, Rodgers found him 397 times for 6,098 yards and 57 touchdowns, adding 5 TDs this year with at least one score in every game this year aside from when Nelson left a Week 2 tilt in Atlanta in the first quarter with a quad injury. The Cowboys secondary is extremely vulnerable and the Packers could be playing from behind at Dallas, while Rodgers talked about getting Bennett involved early and often and will have a much easier time find his TE if Cowboys defensive captain Sean Lee (hamstring) is inactive or limited.
Eli Manning/Odell Beckham Jr. vs. LAC ($7.0k and $8.9k FanDuel) – GPP
There’s no way you can trust anyone in the Giants offense in cash games right now and OBJ is particularly risky because he suffered a dislocated finger in Week 4 and appeared to re-aggravate his ankle injury on multiple occasions. Yet that should lower his ownership rate ahead of a plus matchup against a Chargers team that’s allowing opposing QBs to post a 101 Passer Rating this season. Eli has targeted Beckham 28 times over his last 2 starts and it’s no coincidence that the Giants offense found a spark with their game-changing WR back in the fold.
Jacoby Brissett/T.Y. Hilton vs. SF ($7.0k and $7.3k FanDuel) – GPP
Hilton’s suddenly become a viable play with Brissett under center and the tandem could make the Colts faithful proud at home this week. Hilton shredded the Browns secondary for 153 yards in Week 3 before getting cooled off by the Legion of Boom for 30 yards in Week 4, yet he represents a matchup nightmare for the big-bodied 49ers corners. San Francisco ranks 30th in DVOA pass defense while giving up 11 pass plays of 20-plus yards and Hilton has made a living by crossing the face of undisciplined defenses for chunk yardage.
Le’Veon Bell/Steelers Defense vs. JAX ($9.5k and $4.8k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
The Jaguars gave up the seventh-most FPPG to opposing defenses last year and while a lot has changed in terms of the culture in Jacksonville, Blake Bortles is still quarterbacking this squad. He lost his primary target in Allen Robinson and has thrown 3 picks over 3 games since stunning the Texans in the season opener. Pittsburgh’s renewed pass rush has racked up 15 sacks through 4 games and they’ve only had one home game thus far, so look for the Terrible Towels and the Steelers faithful to help that front seven force Bortles into mistakes and set up a positive game script for Bell to see close to the 35 carries he logged in last week’s win.
Jake Elliott/Eagles Defense vs. ARI ($4.7k and $4.6k FanDuel) – Cash/GPP
Since this is a FanDuel article, we can discuss the somewhat random, but partially methodical kicker position. The Eagles fast-paced offense set Elliott up for 4 FG tries in Week 4 and the rookie nailed all of them on the coattails of his 61-yard game-winner in Week 3. Philadelphia (-6.5) is expected to handle the struggling Cardinals at home, but the Eagles lack of a potent rushing attack and the likelihood that Patrick Peterson holds Alshon Jeffery in check makes it possible for multiple stalls in the red zone and kicking opportunities for Elliott. Philadelphia’s defense should also be all over aging QB Carson Palmer and the one-dimensional Arizona offense.
