DFS MLB Lineups for September 19, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com

For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!

A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Corey Kluber can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.

Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for September 19, 2017

Zack Godley @ SD ($11.1k DraftKings, $9.6k FanDuel)
Godley is as safe tonight as Yu Darvish is risky, and he’s still reasonably priced on FanDuel despite spinning a gem against the capable Rockies lineup his last time out. Now the young RHP faces a Padres team that ranks dead last in most offensive categories. Godley recently struck out 9 while allowing 2 ER over 7 strong innings in a home start against San Diego. Facing the Pads at massive Petco Park makes life even easier, as he’s rocking a 2.97 ERA on the road and has been quite reliable regardless of venue with 17 Quality Starts over 23 outings this year.

Mike Clevinger @ LAA ($9.5k DraftKings, $8.9k FanDuel)
Long hair, don’t care and rightfully so, since Clevinger has the league-leading Indians offense backing him up over the last month. He’s 4-0 with a microscopic 0.38 ERA and a 10.68 K/9 ratio over his last 4 starts and continues to baffle hitters with a great repertoire of pitches. Tonight Clevinger faces an Angels team that’s hitting just .227 with 51 runs scored to check in as the third-worst offense in the A.L. during that span and Clevinger’s been nearly untouchable with a .188 BAA on the road this season.

Kevin Gausman vs. BOS ($6.8k DraftKings, $8.7k FanDuel)
In 4 of his last 6 outings, Gausman’s been absolutely lights out, posting a 0.98 ERA with 26 K’s during those starts. Of course, he was lit up in a couple of starts in between, but did managed to blank the Red Sox over 7.2 IP in Boston recently and faces a lineup tonight that continues to struggle with a relatively modest .306 wOBA and .246 batting average over the last 30 days. Gausman’s been much better at home over the past couple of seasons and certainly has upside with a 9.76 K/9 ratio over 16 home starts this year.

Other pitchers to consider: Max Scherzer, Chris Archer, Marcus Stroman, Drew Pomeranz, Collin McHugh, Chase Anderson, Johnny Cueto

Best DFS MLB Hitters for September 19, 2017

Francisco Lindor @ LAA ($5.4k DraftKings, $4.6k FanDuel)
With Jose Ramirez (hamstring) likely to sit out tonight’s contest, Lindor is the obvious choice to lead a potential Indians stack. The hottest offense in the Majors could pounce on vulnerable LHP Tyler Skaggs, who is coming off a pair of surprising shutdown performances, but still posting a 4.65 ERA with a matching 4.63 FIP since the ASB and giving up a 33.8% Hard Contact Rate when facing righties all season. Lindor’s hitting .310 with a 41.9% Hard Contact Rate and .227 ISO Mark off lefties this year and comes into this matchup red-hot with a 1.311 OPS over his last 10 appearances.

Jose Martinez @ CIN ($4.6k DraftKings, $2.5k FanDuel)
He’s an intriguing GPP play on DK and a no-brainer option at this price tag on FanDuel tonight. Martinez has been raking with a .379 average and 1.041 OPS this month and he’s playing his way into the Cardinals cleanup spot on an every day basis. Tonight he could form the heart of a stack against rookie RHP Jackson Stephens, who allowed 3 ER in his sole MLB start and would be lucky to avoid serious damage at a hitter-friendly park against a savvy Cardinals lineup.

Wilson Ramos vs. CHC ($3.2k DraftKings, $2.3k FanDuel)
An easy choice for value at the catcher spot tonight, Ramos will have the platoon advantage against converted reliever Mike Montgomery, who may not last long in tonight’s spot start. Ramos is hitting a ridiculous .435 with 2 HRs over 13 home games against LHP and is a career .295 hitter against the platoon. He flashed tremendous upside with a two-homer game against Boston last Friday and the Rays would be wise to bat him towards the middle of the order in this matchup.

Other hitters to consider: J.D. Martinez, Jose Altuve, Ryan Zimmerman, Nelson Cruz, Khris Davis, Ryan Braun, Dee Gordon, Ryon Healy, Jorge Polanco, Mikie Mahtook, J.T. Realmuto

9/19/17 DFS MLB STACKS

Diamondbacks vs Travis Wood
The Padres veteran LHP appears to have very little left in the tank, as Wood’s failed to make it out of the 2nd inning while coughing up a combined 15 ER and 5 HRs over his last 2 outings. Now he’ll face an Arizona team that crushes lefties now that they’ve added J.D. Martinez, who is one of the top overall options tonight. Paul Goldschmidt obviously has upside in this plus matchup and Brandon Drury could serve as an intriguing value if he’s in the lineup. Chris Iannetta is another platoon specialist capable of piling onto Wood and A.J. Pollock has been reliable with 9 hits over his last 7 appearances.

Athletics vs Chad Bell
It’s time to experiment for a Tigers squad that’s at the end of a lost season and that means giving guys like Bell another start. The rookie southpaw has been knocked around for 15 ER without making it through the 4th inning in any of his 3 starts thus far and he faces an A’s lineup that’s been surprisingly competent lately. Jed Lowrie is a red hot switch hitter and Khris Davis has made a career of crushing lefties. Matt Olson is the most notable GPP play to consider given his power and the likelihood that he faces middle relievers as much as Bell, while Ryon Healy remains underpriced despite the fact that he’s hitting .330 off lefties this year.

Other Stacks to consider:
Indians vs. Tyler Skaggs
Yankees vs. Jose Berrios
Marlins vs. Seth Lugo
