DFS MLB Lineups for August 19, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com

For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!

A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.

Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for August 19, 2017

Chris Sale vs NYY ($14.1k DraftKings, $11.5k FanDuel)
If Sale does not win the Cy Young this season, it would be a shock. In 24 starts, he owns a 2.51 ERA and has struck out 241 batters over a 168.1 inning span. That should lead to another good day against the Yankees for the lanky southpaw since the team he is facing has a .305 wOBA against left-handers this season. Sale has topped 30 DK points in 5 of his last 6 starts.

Zack Greinke vs MIN ($11.7k DraftKings, $9.8k FanDuel)
Greinke owns a 3.01 ERA and has racked up 174 strikeouts over the course of 155.2 innings. In the second half, the Twins have been a below-average hitting team (.321 wOBA ranked 18th), so that could lead to Greinke piecing together yet again another solid outing.

Trevor Bauer @ KCR ($9.8k DraftKings, $9.1k FanDuel)
Bauer has gotten stronger as the year has progressed. He owns a 2.41 ERA in his last five starts and is 4-0 in that span. On the year, he has struck out 145 batters in 127.2 innings. Now that he is piecing it all together, he could shut down the Royals, a team who has posted a .315 wOBA against right-handers this season which ranks 22nd in the big leagues.

Other pitchers to consider: Martin Perez, Jerad Eickhoff

Best DFS MLB Hitters for August 19, 2017

Adrian Beltre vs CHI ($5.4k DraftKings, $4.4k FanDuel)
Beltre is a future Hall of Famer and despite being one of the oldest players in the big leagues, he is still one of the best. The right-handed bat has a .408 wOBA against left-handed pitchers this season so when he is facing a struggling one, he is definitely a good pick. Today, this is true as he faces White Sox lefty Derek Holland, who is 6-12 with a 5.68 ERA this season.

Austin Jackson vs KCR ($3.8k DraftKings, $3.0k FanDuel)
This season, Jackson has made it clear he is one of the top bats in the league against left-handed pitchers. The right-handed bat has a .439 wOBA against southpaws this season. Although Jason Vargas was one of the top pitchers in the American League early in the season, his ERA in seven outings since the beginning of July is 7.08. Not ideal.

Giancarlo Stanton vs NYM ($5.7k DraftKings, $5.3k FanDuel)
In the second half, Stanton has emerged as the hot bat in baseball. He faces a struggling Mets starter tonight, Rafael Montero, who owns a 6.00 ERA in 10 MLB starts this season. That puts Stanton in a good position to dominate.

Other hitters to consider: Ender Inciarte, Hanley Ramirez, Marcell Ozuna, Joey Gallo, Marwin Gonzalez, Anthony Rendon, Ryan Zimmerman, Francisco Lindor, Zack Cozart

8/19/17 DFS MLB STACKS

Astros vs Kendall Graveman
The Astros are the best hitting team in baseball, especially when they face right-handed pitchers. They own a .360 team wOBA against northpaws which makes them a good choice to hit well against right-handed Kendall Graveman. He’s sporting a 7.20 ERA in five roads starts this season, putting the Astros in a great position to succeed.

Red Sox vs CC Sabathia
The Red Sox may be the best team in baseball this month. They have absolutely dominated the competition and posted a respectable .346 wOBA in the process. Their lineup has more right-handed bats than left, so they should be able to capitalize on facing CC Sabathia at hitter-friendly Fenway Park. Sabathia has let up 12 runs in 13.1 innings over his last three starts.

Nationals vs Travis Wood
With a .348 wOBA, the Nationals are one of the best hitting teams against left-handers in the big leagues. That makes them a solid choice today because they are facing a lefty named Travis Wood, who has a 6.62 ERA in seven MLB starts this season. There’s so many dangerous bats in this lineup that muti-entry players will likely want to run 2-3 different versions of the stack.

Other Stacks to consider:
Braves vs Robert Stephenson
Indians vs Jason Vargas
Marlins vs Rafael Montero
