DFS MLB Lineups for July 30, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com
For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!
A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.
Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for July 30, 2017
Jason Hammel vs BOS ($6.9k DraftKings, $6.0k FanDuel)
As a contrarian play, Hammel fits the bill nicely. The Red Sox have been anemic at the plate this month, posting a .287 wOBA and a .113 ISO. Plus, their lineup is heavily right-handed which should help out the right-handed Hammel. Despite the cold start he got off to, Hammel is throwing well as of late, posting a 3.67 ERA over his last 10 starts. He should be able to handle a weakened Boston lineup.
Josh Tomlin vs CWS ($8.9k DraftKings, $8.0k FanDuel)
Over his last three starts, Tomlin owns a 3.10 ERA and the opposition hit .197 with a .544 OPS against him. The White Sox own a .301 wOBA against right-handers this season which is the second worst in the big leagues. They no longer have Todd Frazier either and recent call-up Yoan Moncada is struggling mightily, so this is a lineup worth targeting.
Lance Lynn vs ARI ($8.4k DraftKings, $8.0k FanDuel)
The Diamondbacks really do not hit that well when they are away from Chase Field; their .299 wOBA on the road ranked 26th in the big leagues. Lynn is also throwing exceptionally well lately. He owns a 0.71 ERA over his last four starts and has gone at least six innings each time. He could be in position to go deep and pick up the win once again today.
Other pitchers to consider: Drew Pomeranz, Vince Velasquez, Luis Castillo
Best DFS MLB Hitters for July 30, 2017
Mike Napoli vs BAL ($4.1k DraftKings, $3.0k FanDuel)
Napoli has homered seven times in 77 plate appearances (70 at-bats) against lefties this year, so facing one at home could give the all-or-nothing slugger an opportunity to shine. The pitcher he is facing, his former Red Sox teammate, Wade Miley, has been dreadful since leaving beantown. This year specifically, Miley has surrendered 49 runs over 43.2 innings in his last nine starts.
Travis Shaw vs CHC ($4.8k DraftKings, $3.7k FanDuel)
Shaw is proving himself as a major weapon for this Brewers lineup. He owns a .412 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season and an OPS close to 1.000. That could make the power hitter, who has pelted seven home runs in 21 July games, effective against Cubs right-hander John Lackey, who has a 4.97 ERA and 5.66 FIP through 19 starts this season.
Willson Contreras v MIL ($4.5k DraftKings, $3.5k FanDuel)
Contreras has been a great hitter during the day this season. In 40 day games, he is hitting .325 with six home runs and a .931 OPS. This month, he has been hitting exceptionally well too, posting a .441 wOBA. Take advantage of that while he is hitting well and facing one of the worst home starters in baseball (6.45 ERA in 10 home starts), Zach Davies.
Other hitters to consider: Jose Altuve, Clint Frazier, Jose Ramirez, Eric Thames, Adrian Beltre, Matt Adams, Freddie Freeman, Marwin Gonzalez, Josh Reddick
7/30/17 DFS MLB STACKS
Astros vs Justin Verlander
The Astros are the top hitting team in baseball, and they are even better on the road. In 51 games on the road, they owned an .888 team OPS and .374 wOBA. That could make them a weapon against Verlander in what may be his final start with the Tigers. In seven day starts this season, Verlander is 1-3 with a 6.06 ERA and has let up eight home runs.
Brewers vs John Lackey
Lackey’s 5.66 FIP indicates he might just be one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball. The veteran has let up 25 home runs 19 starts and is facing a team that has some pop in their lineup (155 home runs through 102 games ranked second in the big leagues, .191 ISO against right-handers ranked ninth). Since they are at home, they should be able to knock the Texan out of the game early.
Cubs vs Zach Davies
The Cubs have been one of the hottest hitting teams in the big leagues. Their .356 wOBA was tied for the fourth best in the big leagues this month. They should be able to take advantage of Davies, who simply can’t pitch well at home for some reason. He owns a 6.45 ERA in 10 starts at Miller Park this season.
Other Stacks to consider:
Rangers vs Wade Miley
Indians vs Carlos Rodon
