DFS MLB Lineups for July 27, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com

For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!

A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.

Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for July 27, 2017

Jon Lester @ CWS ($11.9k DraftKings, $10.0k FanDuel)
Lester is simply too smart of a pitcher to struggle for long and he seems to have snapped out of his funk with 2 excellent starts (15 IP, 3 ER, 16 K’s, 1 BB) in a row. He’ll face a White Sox team tonight that’s posted a very high collective average (.282) against LHP this year but is otherwise weak for an A.L. lineup (now without Todd Frazier) with very little experience (73 combined career at-bats) against Lester. The veteran lefty might be pricey on DK, but he’s a relative bargain on FD on this short slate and frankly a safer option than Chris Archer at Yankee Stadium.

Zack Godley @ STL ($8.4k DraftKings, $8.5k FanDuel)
A very solid cash game play all year and a relative bargain on DK, Godley should be able to maintain his pace in a good matchup on the road tonight. The Cardinals offense has been average across the board and Godley already posted a Quality Start with 7 K’s and an unlucky 3 ER allowed (on 2 hits) in a start against the Red Birds earlier this season. He’s struggled in his 2 starts of the ASB but still racked up 19 K’s to meet value and previously posted Quality Starts in 8 of his 10 appearances prior to the break.

Chris Flexen @ SD ($6.5k DraftKings, $6.0k FanDuel)
If you’re seeking a true value play to get a leg up on this short slate, look at the Mets rookie. Flexen has been excellent with a 1.66 ERA over 7 appearances in the Minors and he sparkled with a five-hit shutout in his AA debut earlier this summer. There’s no better place to make your MLB debut than massive Petco Park against the worst offense in the Majors for several years running and Flexen could wind up as the play of the night if he executes in this plus matchup.

Other pitchers to consider: Chris Archer, Luke Weaver

Best DFS MLB Hitters for July 27, 2017

Anthony Rizzo @ CWS ($5.3k DraftKings, $4.3k FanDuel)
The Cubs offense is coming alive and facing a string of bad pitchers will certainly help them build momentum. Tonight they get wily veteran Mike Pelfrey, who nearly walks more batters than he strikes out (1.33 K/BB ratio) and is lucky to have a 4.46 ERA at this juncture of the season. Lefties are posting a .368 wOBA with a 2.02 HR/9 ratio off Pelfrey this year and Rizzo is starting to find his power stroke while maintaining a career-best 13.3% BB Rate on the year.

Jay Bruce @ SD ($4.4k DraftKings, $3.5k FanDuel)
The Mets have several options that could use the platoon advantage to burn RHP Luis Perdomo tonight but they might not be worth using as a full stack at Petco. Bruce, however, has been more effective with a .282 batting average and 14 HRs on the road this season and a .283 ISO Mark against righties. Perdomo is allowing LHB to hit .327 with a 1.83 WHIP against the platoon this year and he’s actually been worse with a 4.83 ERA at home.

Didi Gregorious vs. TB ($3.7k DraftKings, $3.1k FanDuel)
A brief spell of competition from rookie Tyler Wade seemed to light a fire for Gregorious, as he’s hitting over .400 with 5 HRs since the ASB and is carrying the Yankees offense. He’ll have the platoon advantage tonight against Rays ace Chris Archer, who has been more vulnerable with a 1.62 WHIP and 4.53 FIP on the road against lefties and has allowed Gregorious to go 7-for-21 over their career meetings. Archer’s struggled at Yankee Stadium in the past and the short porch in RF gives LHB a little more upside.

Other hitters to consider: Michael Conforto, Kris Bryant, Marcell Ozuna, Dee Gordon, J.T. Realmuto, Asdrubal Cabrera, Jon Jay

7/27/17 DFS MLB STACKS

Marlins vs Robert Stephenson
The cheapest SP on the board tonight for good reason, Stephenson has been pummeled at every turn on his way to an 8.10 ERA and 1.97 WHIP over 15 appearances this season. He’s giving up an absurd 4.76 HR/9 ratio with a .407 BAA on the road and that explains the lofty price tag on surging OF Giancarlo Stanton. You can also consider Marcell Ozuna and J.T. Realmuto as cheaper bats with pop, while lefties Dee Gordon and the suddenly hot Christian Yelich are quality plays against a RHP that’s allowing LHB to post a .430 wOBA this season.

Cubs vs Mike Pelfrey
You can continue to roll with the hot-hitting Cubs in a great matchup against their crosstown rivals. In addition to Rizzo, Jon Jay stands out as a great value play with the platoon advantage against Pelfrey should he crack the lineup, while both Kyle Schwarber and Ian Happ are potential GPP plays depending on their status tonight. Kris Bryant is certainly an elite option for any format if you can pay up at 3B and the same can be said for Willson Contreras at catcher.

Other Stacks to consider:
Reds vs. Chris O’Grady
Mets vs. Luis Perdomo
