DFS MLB Lineups for July 24, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com
For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!
A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.
Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for July 24, 2017
Zack Greinke vs. ATL ($11.9k DraftKings, $9.9k FanDuel)
At a significantly lower price tag than Jacob deGrom, Greinke’s a bit more appealing tonight and as reliable when building cash game lineups. He faces a Braves team that’s coming back to earth with the third-lowest collective wOBA (.293) over the last 30 days and current Braves are hitting .221 with 32 K’s over 131 career at-bats against Greinke. While he struggled in a rematch with the Reds last week, he’s been outstanding otherwise and is rocking some pretty impressive numbers (0.87 WHIP, .192 BAA) to go 9-0 over 11 home starts this season.
Justin Verlander vs. KC ($8.7k DraftKings, $8.8k FanDuel)
He paid off as a gamble when he faced the Royals last week and Verlander’s in line to meet or exceed value in the same matchup at home tonight. He’s handled the Royals in 3 meetings this season and Kansas City still ranks 26th in collective wOBA (.308) and 25th in runs scored (408). Verlander has been solid in 6 of his last 7 appearances, so he’s a bit more consistent than his price tag on DK might indicate, and has been more reliable with a 3.59 ERA over 9 home starts this season.
Francisco Liriano vs. OAK ($5.8k DraftKings, $6.2k FanDuel)
Obviously it’s risky using Liriano whenever he toes the rubber, especially after he yielded negative FPs in each of his last 2 outings. Yet tonight his Blue Jays host an Athletics team that’s sporting the second-highest K-Rate (25.5%) in the Majors with the third-lowest collective batting average (.228) when facing LHP this year. Khris and Rajai Davis have had their success against Liriano and the past, but he’s handled just about every other hitter in an A’s lineup that can appear quite toothless at times. It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway, this is a price point tournament play only.
Other pitchers to consider: Jacob deGrom, Eduardo Rodriguez, Gerrit Cole, Vince Velasquez, Kevin Gausman, James Paxton
Best DFS MLB Hitters for July 24, 2017
Joey Votto @ CLE ($5.0k DraftKings, $3.8k FanDuel)
Indians RHP Josh Tomlin is coming off consecutive Quality Starts that happened to come against two of the least effective offenses in the Majors in the Giants and Padres. He’s still quite vulnerable and unlikely to perform as well against a capable Reds lineup that will include a DH in Cleveland. Votto can serve as the head of a stack against a RHP that allowed a 2.03 HR/9 ratio at home last year and a 17.7% HR/FB ratio overall, while Tomlin is allowing LHB to hit .314 with a 37.8% Hard Contact Rate this season. Votto’s brief slump could come to an end this evening.
Brian Dozier @ LAD ($3.9k DraftKings, $3.8k FanDuel)
I’ll take a chance on a notable lefty killer when he faces a southpaw that’s been beset by injuries all year. Hyun-Jin Ryu is coming back from a brief absence due to a foot injury and that could undermine what little moment he was developing during a lost campaign. Dozier is hitting .316 with a .381 wOBA when facing LHP this year, rocks a career 32% Hard Contact Rate when facing the platoon, and is quite cheap on DK despite the fact that he’s heating up right now.
Manny Machado @ TB ($3.6k DraftKings, $3.5k FanDuel)
Machado was starting to heat up and was priced accordingly on DK for about a week, but now he’s back in the bargain bin ahead of a matchup that can hardly be described as intimidating. Rays southpaw Blake Snell is 0-5 with a 4.98 ERA and he’s posting a 1.66 WHIP with a 2.08 HR/9 ratio at home this season. Machado is a career .278 hitter against the platoon and he’s starting to hit like the all-star he’s been in the past.
Other hitters to consider: Charlie Blackmon, Corey Seager, Miguel Sano, Justin Turner, Xander Bogaerts, Adam Duvall, Corey Dickerson, Mark Trumbo, Wilson Ramos
7/24/17 DFS MLB STACKS
Dodgers vs Bartolo Colon
This is a dream spot for a red-hot Dodgers lineup that leads the N.L. with a collective .361 wOBA over the last 30 days. Colon has been the most consistently targeted SP this year with a league-worst 8.19 ERA and he’s been giving up production to batters of both handedness, but is slightly worse in RvR matchups. Target Justin Turner, but Corey Seager also makes for a fantastic play with the platoon advantage and he’s lofty floor-ceiling combination. Utility man Chris Taylor has been great lately and Yasiel Puig is coming on when given the opportunity to start.
Cardinals vs Antonio Senzatela
Senzatela is a young RHP who is struggling to find his rhythm whether at hitter-friendly Coors Field or on the road. He seems to lack the longevity to face MLB lineups multiple times in the same game and should struggle against a heady group of Cardinals hitters. Tommy Pham is the latest gem to come out of the Red Birds farm system and he could bat towards the top of the lineup tonight. Give Matt Carpenter a look as a value play at 1B while Yadier Molina is always affordable as is OF Dexter Fowler and utility man Paul DeJong.
Other Stacks to consider:
Pirates vs. Matt Cain
Orioles vs. Blake Snell
Rockies vs. Mike Leake
Rangers vs. Adam Conley
