The Best New Year resolutions for every daily fantasy sports player

New Year Resolutions – Bank Roll

Bankroll management and game selection are the two most important keys to success when first starting out.

Play mainly 50/50 or headsup style games to build your bankroll. Tournaments are a time to take shots on big paydays but they should not be all you are playing. A good ratio is to never have more than 10% of your bankroll on the line in any one night and of that 10% only 20% or less should be on large GPP type tournaments. Focus on growing your bankroll with 50% 50/50 or headsup games 30% small field tournaments and 20% GPP type exposure.

Use bonuses to help jumpstart your bankroll. It is free money and when first learning a sport it is essential to not let yourself go broke.

New Year Resolutions – Opponents and other players

Do some of the investigative work on your own. Notice I said some not all. You will never make any real money blindly following someone else’s picks or lineups that they have built. Every person should develop their own system for how they choose their team and over time try to customize and or add to it.

Find the most beatable games and destroy them every day.

Along those lines, try to cut out the noise of a lot of the “fantasy analysts”. Most of the analysts do not even have real skin in the game. Do you really want to be taking advice from someone that isn’t willing to risk anything on their own thought processes?

New Year Resolutions – Learn and Study

Take note of what the best players in the industry do. They are the best for a reason. Take a look at any and all information that you can get about them. Past lineups and twitter conversations that help you identify how and why they choose our liked a particular player.

Play across multiple sites. Each site has its own strengths and weaknesses that we will help you identify in future articles. They all offer things a little differently so try a few out and see what one fits you best. Make sure when you are doing this to understand the slight scoring variations across the industry and how that can affect your lineups!
