DFS MLB Lineups for July 19, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com
For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!
A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.
Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for July 19, 2017
Zack Greinke @ CIN ($11.7k DraftKings, $10.2k FanDuel)
The logic that Greinke dominated the Reds in his last start and will therefore do so again is flawed of course, but he is the type of cerebral pitcher who could baffle an offense twice in a row. Cincy managed just 4 hits over 7 scoreless innings against Greinke before the ASB and current Reds are now a combined 22-for-95 (.232) with only Joey Votto (12-for-32, 3 HRs) doing any sort of damage in his career against the D’Backs ace.
Justin Verlander @ KC ($7.9k DraftKings, $8.7k FanDuel)
How do you go from a human piñata, to the A.L. CY Young runner-up, back to an unreliable SP? Regardless, he’s been solid in 5 of his last 6 outings, including a Quality Start against a Royals team that’s still ranked last in the A.L. with a collective .303 wOBA this season. The spacious confines of Kaufmann Stadium could help as he looks to keep the ball down in the zone and avoid an implosion.
Drew Pomeranz vs. TOR ($7.2k DraftKings, $8.4k FanDuel)
Since June began, Pomeranz has been an extremely reliable pitcher with a 3.20 ERA and 2.64 K/BB ratio and the Red Sox offense has come alive to support him. Tonight Boston is favored at home against a struggling Blue Jays team that’s hitting a collective .240 with a 22% K-Rate when facing LHP this season. Current Blue Jays have been baffled by Pomeranz with a combined .176 batting average (9-for-51) and measly .227 wOBA while striking out 16 times against the crafty lefty.
Other pitchers to consider: Jacob deGrom, Gerrit Cole, Mike Leake, Carlos Rodon, Aaron Sanchez
Best DFS MLB Hitters for July 19, 2017
Adrian Beltre @ BAL ($4.2k DraftKings, $3.5k FanDuel)
The Rangers offense was struggling early in the season in part because Beltre wasn’t healthy, but he’s back and ravaging baseballs once again with a .416 wOBA and .268 ISO Mark during July. Tonight he’ll face a young RHP in Kevin Gausman, who is allowing righties to hit .328 and has one of the highest WHIPs (1.79) in the Majors this year. Gausman unraveled in the middle innings in each of his last 2 starts and Beltre could lead a Rangers stack against him.
Avisail Garcia vs. LAD ($3.6k DraftKings, $3.4k FanDuel)
He’s come out of the ASB very hot and very much under priced on DK considering Garcia’s been selected as an all-star and is hitting .313 with an impressive .867 OPS on the year. He’s posting a notable 25.5% HR/FB ratio when facing RHP this season and Dodgers RHP Kenta Maeda is giving up a 1.99 HR/9 ratio with a 5.44 FIP when pitching on the road. Look for Garcia to lead a troop of cheap White Sox in a potential stack against the struggling Maeda.
Other hitters to consider: Paul Goldschmidt, Manny Machado, Ryan Braun, Mark Trumbo, David Peralta, Jose Abreu, Andrew Benintendi, Josh Harrison, Melky Cabrera
7/19/17 DFS MLB STACKS
Diamondbacks vs Tim Adleman
Greinke becomes more appealing tonight once you see his adversary, a sophomore RHP in Tim Adleman whose 4.99 ERA is supported by a troublesome 5.79 FIP over 17 appearances this year. Adleman is coughing up a 2.14 HR/9 ratio and with A.J. Pollock back in the fold, the D’Backs are capable of slugging bombs all over hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark. Paul Goldschmidt has a HR off Adleman this year and Jake Lamb is an elite option with the platoon advantage. Look at Chris Hermann to potentially platoon and provide salary relief at catcher on DK while David Peralta is another dangerous LHB to consider.
Orioles vs Martin Perez
Rangers southpaw Martin Perez has been able to limit homers throughout his early career, but has been otherwise vulnerable and he’s posting a new career-worst 3.51 BB/9 ratio this year. That is a recipe for disaster against an Orioles lineup that’s coming around now that Manny Machado is finally producing. Mark Trumbo is a lefty killer with notably good splits (5-for-12, 2 HRs) in his career against Martin Perez while Adam Jones and Welington Castillo are worth a look in GPP formats. Also keep an eye on Trey Mancini starting as a value play.
Other Stacks to consider:
Rangers vs. Kevin Gausman
White Sox vs. Kenta Maeda
Red Sox vs. Aaron Sanchez
