DFS MLB Lineups for June 12, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com
For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for a new way to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy a try!
We’ve got nine games on the DFS MLB slate tonight with Stephen Strasburg coming in at his highest price of the season as he takes on the slumping Atlanta Braves. Looking at the other arms we have to choose from tonight, it’s going to be hard to pass on Stras. Every single time I see Mike Pelfrey on the hill, I feel like I want to stack against him. Then, I look and see he hasn’t given up more than 4 earned runs in any start this season and has only given up one bomb over his last four starts. Seems like Pelfrey just keeps doing enough to make him a guy we should avoid picking on. Yovani Gallardo on the other hand, he does give up bombs…eight of them over his last six starts. Might be a night to look at the Twins. – Matt
A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.
Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for June 12, 2017
Stephen Strasburg vs. ATL ($12.7k DraftKings, $11.4k FanDuel)
Despite his reputation for breaking down or folding at times, Strasburg is pitching like a true ace this season with a 1.02 WHIP, 2.70 FIP and 9.97 K/9 ratio and he’s yet to miss a turn in the rotation. Tonight he’ll face a Braves lineup that managed to stay afloat for a bit after Freddie Freeman’s serious wrist injury, but is ranked 24th in collective wOBA (.303) over the last 14 days. Active Braves are sporting a 28.7% K-Rate over 108 career at-bats against Strasburg, who is 2-0 with 21 K’s over 2 appearances (14.2 IP) against Atlanta this season.
Rick Porcello vs. PHI ($8.6k DraftKings, $8.8k FanDuel)
Sometimes a change of scenery can really benefit a SP, or in this instance, a change of competition. Porcello has been hit hard over his last few starts against elite A.L. East lineups, but now he faces a Phillies team that is sporting the lowest collective wOBA (.280) with the fewest runs scored (41) and a 23.4% K-Rate over the last 14 days. While he’s struggled at home this year, Porcello posted a 2.97 ERA and 1.03 WHIP at home last season and he’s capable of returning to that form if he can regain his confidence in plus matchups such as this one.
Joe Musgrove vs. TEX ($7.6k DraftKings, $7.6k FanDuel)
Musgrove is an intriguing value play tonight despite starting opposite Rangers ace Yu Darvish. He was solid during his rookie campaign and recently spun a 7-inning shutout of the Orioles at home before hitting the 10-day DL with minor shoulder discomfort. Now he’ll face a Rangers lineup that’s sporting the second-highest K-Rate (27.3%) in the Majors over the last 14 days and has been disappointing overall with a collective .314 wOBA on the season and he could receive plenty of run support from his teammates.
Other pitchers to consider: Yu Darvish, Kyle Freeland, Masahiro Tanaka, Wade Miley, Jameson Taillon
Best DFS MLB Hitters for June 12, 2017
Joey Votto @ SD ($5.2k DraftKings, $4.4k FanDuel)
Votto is powerful enough to leave massive Petco Park and versatile enough to produce even if he doesn’t homer in a fantastic matchup against RHP Luis Perdomo. The Padres SP has somehow been worse with a 5.85 ERA over 6 appearances in San Diego and he happens to be allowing LHB to post a .375 wOBA while posting a 1.75 WHIP and 5.15 FIP against the platoon this year. Votto has been red hot with a .405/.488/.784 slash line while launching 4 HRs over his last 10 appearances and he’s worth the money despite playing at a pitcher-friendly venue.
Yoenis Cespedes vs. CHC ($4.4k DraftKings, $4k FanDuel)
After returning to the Mets lineup with a bang on Saturday (a Grand Slam in fact) Cespedes was given Sunday off, but he’s expected to start tonight against a veteran RHP in John Lackey, who appears to be headed downhill at this stage in his career. Lackey’s been roughed up on the road and at home while posting a 2.05 HR/9 ratio and 5.06 FIP on the season, so he’s worth targeting with the Mets best power hitter. Cespedes has launched a HR and actually stolen two bases over 7 career at-bats against Lackey and he’s a bit under priced on DK as he comes back from injury.
Yunel Escobar vs. NYY ($3.2k DraftKings, $3k FanDuel)
Escobar is another hitter that should start the week fresh after resting on Sunday and he draws a surprisingly good matchup against struggling RHP Masahiro Tanaka, who has been lit up in consecutive starts after seemingly finding his groove in a plus matchup against Oakland a couple weeks ago. The Angels infielder is sporting a .333 batting average over his last 10 appearances and while he doesn’t carry much upside as a power hitter, he’s 3-for-7 with a double in his career against Tanaka and could continue to serve as a viable value play if the Yankees RHP struggles again.
Other hitters to consider: Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Nelson Cruz, Brian Dozier, Jose Abreu, Mark Trumbo, Trevor Story, Adam Lind, Welington Castillo
6/12/17 DFS MLB STACKS
Yankees vs Alex Meyer
Led by white-hot young slugger Aaron Judge, the Yankees are mashing right now and are tied with the Astros with a collective .389 wOBA atop the Majors over the last 2 weeks. Tonight they face a vulnerable young RHP in Alex Meyer, who has allowed LHB to post a .380 wOBA with a 1.65 HR/9 ratio in his career against the platoon, so Brett Gardner and Didi Gregorious are both worth a look. Of course, the heart of the Yanks stack is Judge and fellow hot RHB Gary Sanchez, as both players homered again on Sunday and have a good chance to start the week off right with a big showing on Monday. This Yankee offense has scored 55 runs during their current five game win streak.
Red Sox vs Jerad Eickhoff
You can almost always consider the Red Sox at hitter-friendly Fenway Park and they’re a quality stacking option tonight with RHP Jerad Eickhoff taking the hill tonight. Eickhoff is sporting a 5.15 ERA on the year and lefties are sporting a .361 wOBA with a 1.47 HR/9 ratio against the righty, so Jackie Bradley Jr. and surging LH OF Andrew Benintendi are worth using in this matchup. Mitch Moreland is also coming off a big game and Mookie Betts is a bit under priced as he works his back from a slump. Catcher is a great spot to find value within Boston’s lineup as well whether Sandy Leon or Christian Vazquez draws the start in this matchup.
Padres vs Bronson Arroyo
If there was ever a time for Arroyo to come through with a Quality Start, it would be on the road tonight against the league-worst Padres offense, but I’d rather bet against the showered 40-year-old RHP once again. San Diego has a couple of dangerous hitters despite their weak collective batting average, as slugger Wil Myers is heating up again and Yangervis Solarte is batting .300 over his last 10 appearances. Solarte is one of several Padres with the platoon advantage against a RHP that has allowed LHB to post a .407 wOBA with a stunningly poor 4.07 HR/9 ratio when facing the platoon this year. But really, anybody that suits up against Arroyo is viable option tonight.
Other Stacks to consider:
Reds vs Luis Perdomo
Orioles vs. Mike Pelfrey
Yankees vs. Alex Meyer
Mets vs. John Lackey
